his former fire interpreter. Here's whatwe know. The interpreter did not travel
back with the Dodgers after being firedfollowing their first game in South Korea.
Attorneys for the guy, his nameis Ipe Misahara, have made it clear
he did not bet on baseball, only international soccer matches. Racking up four
(00:43):
and a half million dollars in debtsince twenty twenty one, Otani offered to
pay off his balance, sending halfa million dollar payments at a time via
wire transfer. A show he doesplan to address the media at some point
this afternoon, and Prince Harry andMeghan Markle are supporting Prince William and Cape
Middleton both publicly and privately. Followingin Kate's cancer announcement, the estranged Duke
and Duchess of Sussex have been incontact with Kate and released a statement of
(01:06):
support quote, we wish health andhealing for Kate and the family and hope
they are able to do so privatelyand in peace. Kate also asked that
the media I give her the respectto heal. We hope that you'll understand
that as a family, we nowneed some time space and privacy while I

the L and K Moore Show.Grateful for you, thanks for being here
with us. I'm Ellen, I'mRyan, I'm social Queen Darlene, and
I'm here. I don't really feelwhere I am. My dad died suddenly
(02:17):
last Tuesday. He was feeling great. He was monitoring his heart. He
had a fibbed slightly about a yearago, so he was going to put
in this thing called a watchman inearly April, and he was excited.
He was monitoring his heart and didn'thave one blip, not one, just
(02:38):
this data. And what happened tomy dad is is second cardiac arrest where
it's an instant death. It's Ithink DeMar Hamlin on the football field.
So so my message to everyone isknow how to use a defibrillator. Make
(03:00):
sure you have one at work. Our neighbors in Colorado, my dad's neighbors
are going to put them in theircars. You know from my dad.
He was walking home alone from adinner down the street, so it probably
would not have served him because he'sninety. And the er doctor told me
(03:23):
he went instantly, which is theway he'd want to go. Yeah,
but I think that everyone should checktheir hearts. It's so important because you
can, you can detect things thatare irregular, and you can save a
life if you have an AED handy. I don't even do we have one.
We have some in boxes and we'regoing to identify them and find out
(03:46):
and I think that, you know, I want to know exactly where they
are, and I you know,it's just so important, you know,
you may be able to save alife. It's it's one of those things
I never thought about before, eventhough my dad was going to do this
monitor, this watchman that regulates sothat you don't aphib and it was just
precautionary. Really, his sister hasone, and we didn't think. I
(04:09):
mean ninety Look that's a long, great life, right my daddy Dale.
But his brother lived be one hundred. His sister's ninety five, she has
a watchman. And then he's gotanother sister who's ninety two. So these
are like they're a hardy Norwegian stock. Yeah, they are sentence of Vikings,
and he loved all things Viking. You know, this man just but
(04:31):
he would he would want everyone toknow that message that you know, look,
you could be at any age.High school, the biggest percentage of
people who pass away suddenly like thisare teens and the elderly. Yeah so,
and trust me, I mean ninety, that's not young, but he
(04:51):
sure had a young attitude. Ohmy gosh, it's in your absence.
Ellen. You know, we hadso many visitors by the studio and everyone
was asking to share, to sharestories of Dale. And you know,
the one thing I would say isthis guy was ninety but lived like he
was sixty. Yeah. Yeah, this is a man who rode his bike
on the regular. He was constantlydoing stuff out and about, fly fishing,
(05:11):
visiting with friends. This guy hada life, Yeah he did.
He was Look, we lost mymom five years ago and he grieves hurt
daily, but he also found thebeauty in life and had so many plans
to coming to Calvin's graduation in Juneand putting the Watchmen in and he look,
you guys, he had everything ina packet planned out for us.
(05:34):
And his biggest thing was I amworried about my six kids when I'm gone
that I don't want them to grieveme hard. I want everything done for
them. I don't want them toI want them to celebrate and live their
lives. That's why I'm here today. I don't know. You know,
there's so many beautiful messages you've sentme and Ryan and darrt just I don't
(05:58):
know what to do. My husbandRoy Calvin, Calvin so for spring break,
and you know, it's just surroundyourself with love if you're going through
it as well. It helps,It really does. And it's really hard
to do because you missed the person, but think of what they would want,
yeah, yeah, live in theirhonor, yes, yeah. Yeah.
(06:21):
One of the things I shared onInstagram when I posted was me and
dar were reflecting on your dad andsome of the visits we had with him,
which were so enriching. But oneof the things that I loved the
most was the day he was hereand your Hall of Fame trophy arrived and
you said, Dad, I wantyou to open it. And just the
pride he had in you and yourbrothers and your sisters, and how he
(06:44):
carried on your mom's pride and manhe was. It's just the best.
It's the best to have have watchedthis with you, guys, and to
know who he was and how muchhe loved you. He loved you,
guys, he loved he loved radio, he loved Coast he loved He got
to be everyone here and they lovedhim. He was the show dad.
(07:05):
He's the show dad. He wasat Dodger games with us. See you

of his life was a hot dog. Wasn't Dodger dog, but he had

So yesterday we went to Knots. They're obviously doing the boys and Berry

Do you have a favorite? Whatwas the corn dog yesterday? Boysonberry
corn dog batter? What boison berrymustard they make boison berry mustard they do?
(09:50):
That is that's amazing. I thoughtyou might like this. The newest
flavor from Dourrito's is Late Night SizzlingCheeseburger. I'm intrigued and I don't even
like cheese burgers anyway. That's happinessfor you and for us and happiness hacks
for life with one Ryan Meo andthis one Ellen comes from one Daddy Dale.
Yay, my daddy. So wegot a DM from our wonderful,
(10:13):
beautiful listener, Diana Poe, andshe said, I still remember the Daddy
Dale happiness hack. He shared thatif you get a bug bite, put
a piece of tape over it andit won't itch. That's just crazy.
How does my dad know that?Well, he's a fly fisherman, spent
a lot of time in the outdoorsgetting bit up by bugs. Yes,
so I think he figured it out. They liked his Norwegian blood. Don't
(10:35):
forget as we remember Daddy Dale today, remember this tape over a bite done
and it is coast to one ofthree point five top stories Top of the
Hour, Good morning of ellen kand Tonight's Powerball jackpot has swelled to an
estimated eight hundred million dollars cash optionof three hundred and eighty five, the
eighth largest in the history of thegame. Someone in Sun Valley did match
(10:58):
five of six over the weekend. That lucky ticket worth two zero point five
million dollars. But wait, there'smore. Tomorrow's Mega Millions is now worth
one point one billion dollars billion. With a bee and a surprise springstorm sweeping
through the Southland yesterday dropping half aninch of rainless quarter size hail, thunderous
booms of lightning. Today, we'reexpecting, though, a pretty nice day.
(11:20):
It's just kind of a soggy startto spring. Your weather coming up.
But what about this a horrific andrare mountain line attack over the weekend
changed one family forever. Two brotherswere in the El Dorado National Forest in
northern California. They were attacked bymountain lion. The twenty one year old
brother was killed in the attack. The eighteen year old brother, suffering traumatic
injuries, expected to survive. It'sthe first fatal mountain line attack in California
(11:41):
since two thousand and four. Whathappened in Orange County and after archaeologists found
a two hundred and seventy million yearold fossil of a previously unknown amphibian,
they've decided to name it after Kermitthe frog. It is called Kermatappas Greatest.
And we do have a beautiful daytoday. It's looking gorgeous topping seventy.
We're going to keep that pretty muchthrough the week. No rain expected

our show. You talk Telfonso whenyou call him at eight hundred ninety two
nine KOST we have one thousand dollarsfor a year, one KPATA Song of
the Day Billy Joel, Uptown Girland you're Llen KQ and a coming up
with Pinka Dodgers Pink Gotch Stadium. How mind blowing everything that's happened in the
(12:46):
past week. A week ago today, you were on stage in Munich,
Germany, presenting at Radio Days Europe. Now by the way, looking like
a full on a US diplomat,an ambassador. You really power suits,
gees with gold button my god,and you had a little like Michael Jackson
mic on your Yeah. Yeah, they put the headset mic with flesh colored
so you couldn't see it. Butthat was amazing Radio Days Europe. And
(13:09):
then I flew over to Munich onTurkish air and if you are Turkish and
you're listening now, I love you. I love I've never been to Istanbul
or Turkey. I've always wanted togo and Turkish Air and the Turkish people
are so loving. And my dadpassed away as I was returning home to
(13:33):
see you guys and get back onthe air last week. So right as
I was getting on Turkish Air tocome home, I got the news that
my dad Dale had died suddenly,a sudden cardiac arrest, which is different
from a heart attack. A heartattack, you feel the pain, you
have, pain going down your arm, you know it's a heart attack.
(13:54):
With sudden cardiac arrest, it's instantdeath. Think lamar More Hamley. Yeah,
so my dad couldn't be revived. He had a happy last day on
earth. He was ninety, hewas super healthy. He'd monitored his heart
because he had an a incident abuta year ago, but there was no
(14:16):
sign. And that's that's why thisis so important that I want you to
get your heart check. I wantyou to know how to use an AED
so you can revive someone and savea life, know how to do CPR.
It's so important. I mean,I have all this that I can't
even say the word statistics here abouthow it all goes down, but you
(14:39):
know it's it's pretty much you instantlydie. And that's what happened to my
dad at the foot of his driveway, so Turkish air on there I find
out they were so comforting and solovely to our family. And we finally
this today, just being a weeklater. Since I was there, I
(15:01):
was thinking about all the things wesaw in Istanbul. And there's the Sultan's
Palace. So if you go there, you must see all the mosques,
you know, it's just so gorgeous, and then you have to see the
Sultan's palace. There was a sultanup until the eighties, and this whole
palace is built for the harem.Like when you say the eighties, you
mean the nineteen eighties. No,yeah, the nineteen eightiesse most recent eighties.
(15:24):
Here's a fun fact for you. There's an eighty four carrot dimuds called
the spoon Maker's Diamond that went inthe Sultan's headdress. Michael Jackson wanted to
wear that in a video and siton his golden throne and they said no.
Oh, what they told Michael Jacksonyou can't use No, you're not
going to use our royal stuff ina video. He also wanted to hold
the royal dagger, which was fullof emeralds and rubies. So, yeah,
(15:46):
there was a sultan. I've gota fact check, but yeah,
it was not that long ago.We had a sultan and with a harem
sometimes they would commit to one woman, but the harems were more old fashioned.
But then there were concubines as well, and those are the harem girls
in training. And I was thinkingof Ryan the whole time, because if
the sultan had a good night, his servants would line the golden hallway and
(16:07):
he would throw coins to them.If he had a happy, fun night
with his harem, which was quitefrequently, then I might adopt that and
start doing that when I come intowork, everyone, I just throw the
gold coins to your harem. Soyes, I took a lot of pictures
and things like that. But shoutout to you Turkish Air. Thank you
(16:27):
for taking care of my family theway you did with so much love and
compassion. You know, it's incrediblehow much compassion lives in the world,
and you see it. It's inall of us, but you see it
when you when you lose someone, when when something horrible in your life happens
(16:48):
and people rally around you. Josejust came in from Big Boys Show and
gave me prayers and hugs, andit's just you know, Daddy Dale would
want us all to be happy andwould want me here on the air and
to have good memories. And wehave a lot and we're going to go
(17:08):
inside entertainment coming up next. Youknow, it's funny because I've been disconnected
really from the world, and Iwalk in, I go when did that
movie come out? It's The Ghostbusters? Did you see it? No?
Oh, it was number one.I'll more Ellen k Morning Shop Coast one
oh three point five. Taylor Swiftand Travis Counsey spotted on Malibu lunch shade
(17:30):
after enjoying much needed Bomba's vacation. So they're having those romantic lunches. They
are at No Boo and Malaniboo. You know what's funny though about this?
The next day, Trav flies hometo his hometown Cleveland, and he was
with a couple of his old friendsand they stopped into a pizzeria and the
clickbait headlines are like, Travis notseen with Taylor getting ah, the man
have a day with his friends iswrong with They were holding hands on their
(17:55):
lunch date. My friend Justine andher daughter Brianna Eadie they were there as
Tailor and Travis were having their romanticlunch dates. Oh yeah, they said.
People left him alone, which isgood. All right, we're the
only K Morning show. I haven'tbeen here for a little while dealing with
the sudden passing of my daddy.Dale. What a guy. He gave
(18:19):
the best hugs in the world, didn't he. Oh yeah, two feet
down, two arms, white.Yeah, he's six to two and when
he was younger, black hair, blue eyes. He's Norwegian and tall.
Just think tall, broad shoulders, slight like, slim, slender, but
boy could he hug powerful hugs. And his high school yearbook motto is not
(18:44):
small, rather tall in his head. He has it all because he's a
math scientist. Yeah. Anyway,so we're here with you, sunny,
beautiful day here in La feels goodto be back here with friends and you,
and thank you for all of yourlove. We love you so much
being here with you, and we'regoing to send you to pink a Dodger
Stadium. Just be the first callerwith the right answer to our question.
Half of all single men believe thisis costing them dates half. That's a
(19:10):
pretty big number. What do youthink it is? Half of all single
men think this is causing them dates. All right, eight hundred nine nine
kost We're gonna get your guesses nextcoast one o three point five. It's
the llen k Q and A oncoast one oh three point five. Hey,
guys, Janelle and Anaheim is justwaking up? Did the sun shine
(19:33):
shine in your eyes? Janelle? Is that what woke you up? The
loud? Oh you wake up withbirds chirping? Are you on spring break?
No? I just go into workat ten thirty, so that's a
little later. Oh what do youdo ks raise? Oh my nephew Alec
(19:56):
does that and he works for likethree different hospitals. He's actually like,
would they call you a radiation tech? Radiologic technologist? Yes? Okay,
I almost got it right. Anyway, he does overtime and he works for
like three He's making so much money. Like he told me what he made
(20:17):
in one month. I was like, okay, rich guy. Anyway to
know he loves it. I'm sureyou love your job. And you're waking
up with the birds chirping. You'rehere on the Q and a half of
all single men believe this is costingthem dates. What is it I thought
about like money or like a budgetbecause things are just so expensive. Yeah,
(20:40):
that's true. So maybe the lackof funds or just money issues.
It's a really great guess. It'snot the right answer. Okay, have
a great date, work me too. Hi there, Amanda. Hi,
Amanda's in data point driving kids toschool, So no bring break for you
(21:00):
guys. Yeah, huh next week? Okay, what school district are you?
We capo? Okay? All right, hi kids? So what do
you guys think of this? Halfof all single men think this is costing
them dates, probably keeping their socialmedia on private. Oh then there's no
(21:23):
one who can slide on in andthere's no one to check on who you're
really with. I know, Iknow. Okay, so private would work
for the man but also cost himdates. Yeah yeah, because then people
can't snoop around and see who theyreally are. That's right. Uh see,
(21:44):
I mean if you play, youmust pay, and you are right
way to go, Amanda, goodjob, yay, thank you so much.
Yes, pleasure. It's the onlyk Q and a half of all
single men say that being private onsocials is costing them dates. But why
(22:07):
are they private? Would you besuss. Let's say you had met Roy,
right, you guys are kind ofhitting it off. You go to
follow him private, Yes, you'reout. Then I would go if I
was really interested in him, Iwould then also go private. Okay,
oh so he would be there. It is yeah, say okay, I
can do anything. You can dobetter. Cheers for Fears. Kurt Smith
(22:33):
often walking the Hollywood Hills with hisdogg O Thom yesterday walking his doggy.
He's still wearing those toe shoes. No, he has normal shoes to sneak.
He pulled his knee or something andthen he had to just walk and
he's not jogging again yet maybe alittle bit. But yeah, it's so
weird, like you're let's need toTears for Fears on the radio, and
(22:55):
then you see Kurtsmith half of Tearsfor Fear and we're the only k morning
Sean Allen, I'm Ryan, I'msocial Queen Darline, thank you for having
a son. I love you Ryanand darr and Coast. iHeart family.
Had to deal with something that noone ever wants to deal with. That's
a sudden loss of a parent. So my daddy Dale had sudden cardiac arrest
(23:19):
after having a super happy day,and I just feel so comforted that my
dad had such a great last day. One of his friend's Beth, she's
a family friend and she cleans allthe houses in the neighborhood. So she
was at his house that day,the day he passed last Tuesday, and
for five hours, she said,he was standing up the whole time talking
(23:40):
to her, and she's finally tosay, I'm not getting anything done.
And he made hot dogs for themfor lunch. So I don't know if
you believe in signs or not,but our refrigerator here at work is never
clean. Truth. I mean,without a doubt, it's yeah, it's
not good. So Ryan goes backto the refrigerator, opens up the double
door and guess what. The refrigeratorhas been clean. It's a big,
(24:00):
double sided refrigerator except for one itemin the refrigerator. Hot dogs. A
pack, a single pack of hotdogs is the only thing in our fridge.
And that was the last thing you'redoing it, he ate. He
made those four he and Beth whileshe was cleaning. They had that for
lunch. Then he went to aneighbor for dinner. And later that day
(24:26):
and he was walking back. Theysaid, oh, let's give you a
ride. He's walking back. It'snine o'clock at night and he's probably about
eight houses up a small hill.Nothing big deal. He'd been monitoring his
heart because he's going to put awatchman in there, which regulates, you
know, aphib and he hadn't aphibbedfor like a year or more, and
(24:47):
so he just died suddenly, justlike that. He's here and then he's
gone. And the neighbors were sogreat though he's Neptune Society. He had
every thing written down and typed outand planned for us. So we opened
the packet. My brother has powerof attorney, and we just started the
process. And there are six ofus and we were all together in his
(25:10):
house. We bought a couple ofblow up mattresses from Walmart because because we
didn't have enough beds for six ofus, and I didn't want to sleep
in my dad's bed, None ofus really did. We just wanted to
honor him, and you know,so we all just we bunked. Yeah,
we bunked and cried and we drankDale's Pale ale. Yes, Yeah,
it's really good. So we needto get to a shirt or somebody.
(25:34):
Yeah cool logo Daddy Dale. Oh, we love you, Daddy Dale.
It's good to be back, andthank you for all your calls and
your well wishes and the love. We're gonna throw it right back at you
with a thousand dollars. Your oneKpade song of the day is Billy Joel
Uptown Girl. It's going to happenthis hour. All right, there he
is line one. We love youDan. Hi, I'm glad you're back.
(26:00):
I'm sorry, I'm really glad you'reback. Yeah, thank you for
that. It was just super sudden. And I urge everyone to check their
heart, know how to use anAED, know how to give CPR,
and I am going to be highlightingwhere the AEDs are in our office so
(26:22):
that everybody knows how to save alife in case of, you know,
sudden cardiac arrest. Because that's electrical. It's not a heart attack. It
is not caused by impeded blood flow. It's caused by an electrical short Like
when DeMar Hamlin was hit really hard, his heart stopped. For my dad,
he a fibbed, his heart stopped. It's kind of like the difference
(26:45):
between plumbing and electrical. Yeah, right, yeah, yeah, yeah,
all right. I hope you're doingbetter. No, you know. Walking
in the door today, Ryan hadbrought in sunflowers, my dad's favorite flower,
and they drew me a picture upon our whiteboard, and I got
(27:06):
hugs and lots of love and I'mso grateful. Good good. Not Ryan,
he's good, Yeah, he is. I got a lot of messages
while I was away about Ryan. And how did you guys watch the Ricky
Telling? Yeah? I love RickyStinicky and in fact, that's a good
(27:26):
cheer you up. I will watchit again. You know. I should
have listened to you Dan and Ellenand watched Ricky Stinicky. Instead, I
chose the saddest movie ever, Anatomyof a Fall this weekend. Oh you
do, but see an Oscar winner. It won a bunch of Oscars and
it is good. Did she doit? I am not there yet.
I have about twenty minutes left.Okay, all right, I still don't
know she did it? Right? All right? Thank you Dan. We
