it's an instant death. It's Ithink DeMar Hamlin on the football field.
So so my message to everyone isknow how to use a defibrillator. Make

sure you have one at work.Our neighbors in Colorado, my dad's neighbors
are going to put them in theircars. You know from my dad.
He was walking home alone from adinner down the street, so it probably
would not have served him because he'sninety. And the er doctor told me

he went instantly, which is theway he'd want to go. Yeah,
but I think that everyone should checktheir hearts. It's so important because you
can, you can detect things thatare irregular, and you can save a
life if you have an AED handy. I don't even do we have one.

and I think that, you know, I want to know exactly where they
are, and I you know,it's just so important, you know,
you may be able to save alife. It's it's one of those things
I never thought about before, eventhough my dad was going to do this

But his brother lived be one hundred. His sister's ninety five, she has
a watchman. And then he's gotanother sister who's ninety two. So these

and he loved all things Viking.You know, this man just but

he would he would want everyone toknow that message that you know, look,
you could be at any age.High school, the biggest percentage of
people who pass away suddenly like thisare teens and the elderly. Yeah so,
and trust me, I mean ninety, that's not young, but he

sure had a young attitude. Ohmy gosh, it's in your absence.
Ellen. You know, we hadso many visitors by the studio and everyone
was asking to share, to sharestories of Dale. And you know,
the one thing I would say isthis guy was ninety but lived like he
was sixty. Yeah. Yeah,this is a man who rode his bike
on the regular. He was constantlydoing stuff out and about, fly fishing,

visiting with friends. This guy hada life, Yeah he did.
He was Look, we lost mymom five years ago and he grieves hurt
daily, but he also found thebeauty in life and had so many plans
to coming to Calvin's graduation in Juneand putting the Watchmen in and he look,
you guys, he had everything ina packet planned out for us.

And his biggest thing was I amworried about my six kids when I'm gone
that I don't want them to grieveme hard. I want everything done for
them. I don't want them toI want them to celebrate and live their
lives. That's why I'm here today. I don't know. You know,
there's so many beautiful messages you've sentme and Ryan and darrt just I don't

know what to do. My husbandRoy Calvin, Calvin so for spring break,
and you know, it's just surroundyourself with love if you're going through
it as well. It helps,It really does. And it's really hard
to do because you missed the person, but think of what they would want,

One of the things I shared onInstagram when I posted was me and
dar were reflecting on your dad andsome of the visits we had with him,
which were so enriching. But oneof the things that I loved the
most was the day he was hereand your Hall of Fame trophy arrived and
you said, Dad, I wantyou to open it. And just the
pride he had in you and yourbrothers and your sisters, and how he

carried on your mom's pride and manhe was. It's just the best.
It's the best to have have watchedthis with you, guys, and to
know who he was and how muchhe loved you. He loved you,
guys, he loved he loved radio, he loved Coast he loved He got
to be everyone here and they lovedhim. He was the show dad.

I was getting on Turkish Air tocome home, I got the news that
my dad Dale had died suddenly,a sudden cardiac arrest, which is different
from a heart attack. A heartattack, you feel the pain, you
have, pain going down your arm, you know it's a heart attack.

With sudden cardiac arrest, it's instantdeath. Think lamar More Hamley. Yeah,
so my dad couldn't be revived.He had a happy last day on
earth. He was ninety, hewas super healthy. He'd monitored his heart
because he had an a incident abuta year ago, but there was no

sign. And that's that's why thisis so important that I want you to
get your heart check. I wantyou to know how to use an AED
so you can revive someone and savea life, know how to do CPR.
It's so important. I mean,I have all this that I can't
even say the word statistics here abouthow it all goes down, but you

know it's it's pretty much you instantlydie. And that's what happened to my
dad at the foot of his driveway, so Turkish air on there I find
out they were so comforting and solovely to our family. And we finally
this today, just being a weeklater. Since I was there, I

was thinking about all the things wesaw in Istanbul. And there's the Sultan's
Palace. So if you go there, you must see all the mosques,
you know, it's just so gorgeous, and then you have to see the
Sultan's palace. There was a sultanup until the eighties, and this whole

mean the nineteen eighties. No,yeah, the nineteen eightiesse most recent eighties.

Here's a fun fact for you.There's an eighty four carrot dimuds called

Had to deal with something that noone ever wants to deal with. That's
a sudden loss of a parent.So my daddy Dale had sudden cardiac arrest

after having a super happy day,and I just feel so comforted that my
dad had such a great last day. One of his friend's Beth, she's
a family friend and she cleans allthe houses in the neighborhood. So she
was at his house that day,the day he passed last Tuesday, and
for five hours, she said,he was standing up the whole time talking

to her, and she's finally tosay, I'm not getting anything done.
And he made hot dogs for themfor lunch. So I don't know if
you believe in signs or not,but our refrigerator here at work is never
clean. Truth. I mean,without a doubt, it's yeah, it's
not good. So Ryan goes backto the refrigerator, opens up the double
door and guess what. The refrigeratorhas been clean. It's a big,

double sided refrigerator except for one itemin the refrigerator. Hot dogs. A
pack, a single pack of hotdogs is the only thing in our fridge.
And that was the last thing you'redoing it, he ate. He
made those four he and Beth whileshe was cleaning. They had that for
lunch. Then he went to aneighbor for dinner. And later that day

and he was walking back. Theysaid, oh, let's give you a
ride. He's walking back. It'snine o'clock at night and he's probably about
eight houses up a small hill.Nothing big deal. He'd been monitoring his
heart because he's going to put awatchman in there, which regulates, you
know, aphib and he hadn't aphibbedfor like a year or more, and

so he just died suddenly, justlike that. He's here and then he's
gone. And the neighbors were sogreat though he's Neptune Society. He had
every thing written down and typed outand planned for us. So we opened
the packet. My brother has powerof attorney, and we just started the
process. And there are six ofus and we were all together in his

house. We bought a couple ofblow up mattresses from Walmart because because we
didn't have enough beds for six ofus, and I didn't want to sleep
in my dad's bed, None ofus really did. We just wanted to
honor him, and you know,so we all just we bunked. Yeah,
we bunked and cried and we drankDale's Pale ale. Yes, Yeah,
it's really good. So we needto get to a shirt or somebody.

so my dad couldn't be revived.He had a happy last day on
earth. He was ninety, hewas super healthy. He'd monitored his heart

sign. And that's that's why thisis so important that I want you to
get your heart check. I wantyou to know how to use an AED
so you can revive someone and savea life, know how to do CPR.

dad had such a great last day. One of his friend's Beth, she's
a family friend and she cleans allthe houses in the neighborhood. So she
was at his house that day,the day he passed last Tuesday, and
for five hours, she said,he was standing up the whole time talking

to her, and she's finally tosay, I'm not getting anything done.
And he made hot dogs for themfor lunch. So I don't know if
you believe in signs or not,but our refrigerator here at work is never
clean. Truth. I mean,without a doubt, it's yeah, it's
not good. So Ryan goes backto the refrigerator, opens up the double
door and guess what. The refrigeratorhas been clean. It's a big,

double sided refrigerator except for one itemin the refrigerator. Hot dogs. A
pack, a single pack of hotdogs is the only thing in our fridge.
And that was the last thing you'redoing it, he ate. He
made those four he and Beth whileshe was cleaning. They had that for
lunch. Then he went to aneighbor for dinner. And later that day

and he was walking back. Theysaid, oh, let's give you a
ride. He's walking back. It'snine o'clock at night and he's probably about
eight houses up a small hill.Nothing big deal. He'd been monitoring his
heart because he's going to put awatchman in there, which regulates, you

so he just died suddenly, justlike that. He's here and then he's
gone. And the neighbors were sogreat though he's Neptune Society. He had
every thing written down and typed outand planned for us. So we opened

house. We bought a couple ofblow up mattresses from Walmart because because we
didn't have enough beds for six ofus, and I didn't want to sleep
