Speaker 3 (01:12):
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have reportedly booked their wedding singers.
An unnamed source told the Daily Mail quote, Lauren wants
only big names. Katie Perry's not available because she's on tour,
so she can't perform, but she will be at the wedding. However,
it is Bezos and Sanchez you want, Lady Gaga. Nelton
John on The New York Post says that these reports

(01:35):
from multiple sources is fake. There's no truth to this
at all. But the story did get out there that
Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos went Gaga and Elton John
to perform at their wedding. I'm pretty sure they could
probably talk anyone into it and pay them quite handsomely.
And more details have emerged from the bombing plot at
Lady Gaga's record breaking concert on Copebak Cabana Beach in Brazil.

(01:58):
Authorities arrested at third individual. A spokesperson for the Real
Dejanaro Police said the unnamed suspect believes Lady Gaga as
he's Satanist, so there's a lot of crazy stuff going
on there. Sabrina Carpenter Doja, cat An Josier are among
the big names wh will play this year's Austin City
Limits Fest, which takes over Austin for a good chunk
of October. Streaming in radio data on Sean Diddy Combe

(02:20):
says he's making just a small fraction in royalties compared
to last year. Streaming is dropped for his music by
fifty percent. And Nicole Kidman Sandra Bullock returned for the
Practical Magic sequel. Warner Brothers schedule the release from mid September.
Nicole Kidman's in every movie all the time. I don't
know of another actress who's in more movies than Nicole Kidman.

(02:41):
She is busy. Here's another one, all right. And in
a twist of fate, Gary Kremen, not a name I
ever knew or that you may know, but he's the
founder of match dot Com ironically experienced the ultimate twist
of fate, losing his partner to a man she met
through the very dating platform he created. So his wife
left him for someone she met on Oh.

or anything.

a favorite color, and as the song suggests here, it.

Would be yellow. Oh really, I love this song.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Most mammals, dogs, cats, et cetera. Are what they're known
as dichromats, meaning they can only distinguish between two colors.
So it's blue and yellow for animals, but yellow is
their favorite. They see red and green as shades of gray,
so red and green get those out of the mix.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
This applies to every animal too, birds, primates, marine life.
The one color that really interests all animals and comforts
them is yellow. That's why next time you go to
the zoo or you're around a bunch of animals, where
yellow animals are gonna show a lot more interest in you.
They're gonna come up to you, find you more approachable, curious, intriguing.
So again here on your wet nose Wednesday. If you
want to make a stronger connection with your dog o
or kitty cat, it's yellow.

Look at the stars. Look how they shine for you
and everything.

Top Stories, Top of the Hour, Good Morning, I'm Ellen
k and two bits of news from the White House today. First,
President Trump met with new Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
The two sat down in the Oval, where Trump again
floated the idea of the US purchasing Canada, making it
our fifty first stay, to which Carney said this, As
you know.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
From real estate, there are some places that are never
for sale.

Speaker 12 (08:05):
We're sitting in one right now, and having met with
the owners of Canada over the course of the campaign
last several months, it's not for sale.

Speaker 9 (08:13):
Won't be for sale ever.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Oh, and Trump countered, quote, well, never say never. Also
during that chat, the President brought up Governor Newsom and
said he would love for Gavin de Ron in twenty
twenty eight. Trump said quote, I've always liked him. We
have a good relationship, but added that Newsom's response to
our states wildfires would quickly put him out of the race.
And Hey, the guy who crashed through Jennifer Aniston's front
gate at our home in bel Air has been idd

(08:35):
and booked for felony evandalism. He's also a stalker. His
name is Jimmy Wayne Carlisle. Investigators say the crash appeared
to be intentional and they're now looking into that possible
stalking connection. He posted on social media that he's going
to meet his wife, Jennifer Aniston. Carwile is being held
at the La County Jail without bail. And if you
are this, and you are a man, you are hotter

(08:57):
than Evan ever Ever. Ever is a survey of two
thousand women. They were asked what would make a man
hotter than ever? And it is a bald man. So
if you are bald, you are it. Experts say bald
men are seen as confident, mature, intelligent, and even more
honest than their hairy counterparts. So if you are bald,

happens in the conclave and hoping that you're having an
okay time if you're traveling with your real IDs, we
get your letters to Ellen every Monday and Wednesday. We
read them too. Yeah, so we pick them from your entries.
Just go to Coast one of three five dot com
and tap on that envelope And guys, this one comes

(10:34):
from nurse Mandy. She's a Mandy, She's a nurse. She says,
Dear Ellen, I'm a nurse who cared for a motorcycle
patient named Bradley. He had such a long road to recovery,
and we spent a lot of time together during his stay.
What I didn't expect was how deeply we would connect,
not just nurse and patient, but two people going through
separate battles. At the time, my marriage was unraveling behind

(10:56):
the scenes, and I kept at private, trying to stay
focused and professional. Bradley didn't know much, but he could
tell I was hurting, and after he was discharged, I
honestly thought that was it, but he reached out. We talked,
and we've been talking ever since. Now we're in a relationship.
I care about him deeply. It's real. It's grown from
something very genuine. But I've been afraid to tell the
other nurses because they may think I crossed a line

(11:19):
while he was a patient. I've always tried to lead
with compassionate and integrity in this job, and I love
what I do. I've earned the respect of people I admire.
The last thing I want is for anyone to think
I jeopardize that. Do I share my love for Bradley
with my coworkers or give it time. I don't want
them to hear it anywhere else. Am I overly concerned
with love? Mandy? So it sounds like the situation didn't

(11:43):
really develop until he was discharged, and at that point
he's a friend, yeah, not a patient, right. And I
can remember when Calvin broke his arm in high school
at Loyola High in football, when we were in the
hospital with me. He at emergency surgery. So for three
days we were there and I was so sad and

(12:03):
happy at the same time where we were getting wheeled
out and his primary nurse, Roxanne was her name. It
was so it was so emotional saying goodbye because she
was there like for everything. So there is a bond
for him. And I can't imagine with Bradley being in
the hospital as long as it sounds like he was
with a tough recovery that Mandy probably really got him

(12:25):
through it and he didn't know he was also helping
her because of her marriage unraveling.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
What would be the negative of sharing this with your
coworkers then in that case, she says she doesn't want
it to look bad, right.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
But you wanted to look bad?

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Yeah, But I don't know that it would. I honestly, Mandy,
I think you might be overthinking this. You could have
fun with it, walk in and say you guys are
never gonna believe what is going on.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Okay, remember Robert the motorcycle guy.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Guess what, Well, he's Bradley, Bradley, Bradley, Yeah, Bradley the
motorcycle guy.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
I mean, I don't I see nothing wrong with it?

Speaker 7 (13:01):
Do you?

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Ryan says, maybe she's a lighten up and just tell them,
tell them. I don't know what I would do. It's

My old roommate, Trish, she worked at the border in
sanuel Sidro and we lived up like north of there
in La Joya, so it was a long commute for her,
and she could with one hand reach up her blouse
or dress, take off her bra and get it out
the sleeve as she was driving home at the end

of the day.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
That's a skill that is.

right answer. So sorry, man, thank you so much, so

Speaker 1 (15:58):

feel like she was always buying purses.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Yeah, she had this kind of I don't want to
say racket going, but she would she would get them,
use them for a bit, resell them and poshmark or something.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Good morning, I'm Ellen K. And the cardinals have entered
the Sisteen Chapel, taken that oath of secrecy, and then
later on they will seal the church's doors, each cardinal
voting by secret ballot for our next pope. That cardinal
will say a prayer, then drop the ballot in a
large chalice. If one candidate does not receive a two
thirds majority vote, another election is held. This process is

(18:27):
repeated until one candidate has received the necessary votes. If
you haven't seen the movie Conclave starring Stanley Tucci and
refines it gives you a really really good inside look,
and that is streaming on Amazon. All right, what about this?
Governor Gavin Newsom has responded to the President's new one
hundred percent teariff on all domestic films shot outside the US.
Opposing Trump's penalties, Newsome instead proposed a federal film tax credits,

(18:51):
so it's an incentive to film here versus a punishment
for not. Gavin tweeting quote, California built the film industry.
We're ready to bring even more jobs home. Potus. Let's
get this done. If this does move forward, it'll be
the first ever federal incentive program for the film industry
in US history. And Harlem's very own asap Rocky soon
to be Daddy for the third time with Rihanna said

(19:13):
he is dead series about running for mayor of New
York City. In a new interview with Variety, he joked
at his last name, which is Mayor's basically makes it Destiny,
said mayor Mayor's just rolls off the tongue. I'm really
going to run. And what about this? The Mission impossible
popcorn bucket, we get Mission impossible? The final Reckoning. May
twenty third, and this new specialty popcorn bucket has its

(19:35):
own kind of annoying but cool feature. The bucket that
Regal Cinnamons came up with might be the coolest one.
Yet you have to open it with two keys, so
it's a not to the last movie. Tom Cruise has
to get a special key to control a dangerous artificial
intelligence entity. You get two keys with your popcorn bucket.
I don't have the price yet, but it's probably going
to hover around anywhere between twenty eight and thirty eight dollars.

(20:01):
Beyonce is performing tonight at seven and so far, so
keep that in mind as you are traveling around our roads.

I'm a nurse who cared for a motorcycle patient named Bradley.
He had such a long roadary recovery, and we spent
a lot of time together during his stay. What I
didn't expect was how deeply we would connect, not just
nurse and patient, but two people quietly going through separate battles.
He with his health, be with my marriage. It was
unraveling behind the scenes. I kept a private trying to

(21:24):
stay focused and professional, but it was one of the
hardest seasons of my life. Bradley didn't know much, but
he could tell I was hurting. After he was discharged,
I honestly thought that was it, but he reached out,
we talked, we connected, and now we're dating. I'm free,
he's free. I've always tried to lead with compassion and integrity.

(21:45):
I love what I do. I've earned the respect of
everyone I work with, in the people I admire so much.
But did I jeopardize that? Do I share it with
my coworkers? Give it time. I don't want them to
hear it anywhere else. Maybe I'm overly concerned with love Mandy,
all right, well, we've had so many calls about this.

(22:06):
Let's go to Michelle. Michelle, what do you think?

Speaker 6 (22:10):
So as a nurse that is regardless crossing the line,
it's so unprofessional, Okay, as a nurse, as a caregiver,
like do you have to draw the line and compartmentalize?
And I could never imagine having you know, like you
trauma It's called a trauma bond, Like it's so inappropriate.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
A trauma bond. A trauma bond. It says we're now
in a relationship. I care about him deeply. It's real
and it's grown from something genuine. That's what Mandy wrote,
But she is afraid there must be something in the
back of her brain going, oh, I crossed the line
because emotionally, maybe emotionally she was there, but maybe not physically.
But is that kind of the same thing, and you

(22:53):
say yes, that she crossed the line.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
Oh, she's crossed the line because if she's already having
problems in her marriage, she's already looking for a way out.
It's just an excuse. I would keep it quiet if
I were her.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
But can I ask one more question?

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Did she technically cross the line, like in terms of
the rules the fine print.

Speaker 6 (23:12):
Like contractually, contractually it was in nurse code. Yeah, okay,
like your your job is to care for your patients,
like they're not there to do anything for you. You're
there to provide care. It's just I think it's also
taken advantage of a home local person.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Oh well, Michelle, thank you for that. You are a nurse.
You've probably seen a lot of this. You know, it's
a it's it's it is a vulnerable time. Healing is
intimate as well, and there are bonds made. So I
don't know if it's a trauma bond like she said,
or if this is real. Mandy says, this is real.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Yeah, I still feel like my question hasn't been answered.
Is this a technical violation. And I'm not talking about
nurse code because that's the same as bro code or
girl code. It exists only in as far as we
let it exist. Okay, I'm talking on paper. Is this
a fireable offense?

Speaker 3 (24:05):
Okay? Can you be fired for falling in love with
the patient?

Speaker 4 (24:07):
A former patient?

Speaker 3 (24:08):

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Oh yeah, yeah, Javier Century City shout out.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Okay, we had a letter. We read your letters to
Ellen every Monday and Wednesday, and we got this one
from Mandy and it's about her patient named Bradley. Mandy's
a nurse, she's been doing it for a long time.
She's well respected and she loves what she does. She
cared for a motorcycle patient named Bradley. Long story short,
he was discharged. They are now in love and she

(26:34):
doesn't really want to tell her other co workers because
she doesn't want anyone to lose respect. And you know
she's worried. So Claudia, thank you so much for calling.
We're getting a lot of response to this. What do
you think?

Speaker 9 (26:48):
Honestly, I think that she did not cross the line
as a former caregiver that mentioned that he was discharged
and he.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Reached out to her, yes, and she responded yes.

Speaker 9 (27:03):
So I think she's good.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
And so now that it's all said and done, he's
been discharged, is that free territory? And you say yes,
I say yes, yeah, because Ryan was kept asking could
she be fired?

Speaker 10 (27:18):
Right?

Speaker 9 (27:18):
No, absolutely not, because she didn't do anything well, she
cared for him.

Speaker 7 (27:24):
Yes, she did what she was supposed to do.

Speaker 9 (27:26):
After he was discharged, she reached out to her as
a friend. He was going back to that mom that
they made yep, right.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Think of it this way, like if they were to
just randomly meet on say a dating app, and they
go for a dinner, and she's like, oh my god,
weren't you one of my patients.

Speaker 4 (27:40):
What's the difference. It's the same thing. It's a former
patient that you have a connection with.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
And Mandy wrote this too. I've always led with compassion
and integrity. I love what I do. I've earned the
respect of people I admire so much. The last thing
I want is for anyone to think I jeopardized that.
So I don't know that she's so afraid of losing
her job as she is losing respect that maybe the
coworkers won't.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Believe her it's true.

Speaker 9 (28:03):
But then also, you know what, you only live once,
and your happiness should be first as well. But she's
led with compassion, as she said, and she hasn't broken anything.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Yolo with the Bradley. There you go, Thank you, Claudia.

Top Stories at top of the hour. Good Morning, em
Elan k and Smokey Robinson has been accused of misconduct
by four of his former employees. The complaint has been
formerly filed in La Superior Court. The accusations aren't great,
sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, and creating a hostile work environment.
Smokey's wife, Francis Robinson, is also named in that suit.

(29:07):
Each woman was employed as a housekeeper at the Robinson
home in Chatsworth between two thousand and seven and last April.
The women are suing for fifty million dollars. A lawyer
representing the women was asked why the women didn't come
forward sooner.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
They all feared missing a payday in not being able
to pay their rent or buy food for their families.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Okay, and the guy who crashed through Jennifer Aniston's front
gate at our home in bel Air has been idd
and booked for felony vandalism. His name is Jimmy Wayne
carwile A investigators say the crash appeared to be intentional
and they're now looking into a possible stocking connection. He
posted on social media that he was going to meet
his wife, Jennifer Aniston. Carwell is being held at the
La County Jail without bail and move over measles. Whooping

(29:50):
cough is back in a big way right now, especially
here in California. It's spreading twice as fast as it
did last year. According to the latest data from the CDC,
the US so far this year has already lost over
nine thousand cases of pertussis that is the medical term.
California I can second in whooping cough, only behind Washington State.
All right, Dodgers trying to take the series from the
Marlins today in Miami one forty first pitch and this

(30:12):
is fun because the team is so good. Dodger fans
are eating good too, all due to the team's in
game partnerships with various fast food chains. For example, if
they score more than six runs in a game, that's
a free six piece McNugget. Pitchers strike out more than
seven free jumbo jack and for every home when you
get a six dollars combo plate at Panda. So far

(30:33):
this year, Dodger fans have had fifteen chances to cash
and some good eating. And the gray is starting to
kind of burn off a little bit. Here in Burbank
clouds early full sun later seventy five for year high.
Right now it is sixteen Burbank and we are KOST

the sun with your dad.

Speaker 4 (31:30):

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Tell us about him.

Speaker 13 (31:32):
My father, Norman is one of the most incredible menu'll
ever meet. He's ninety six years old. He can tell
you anything about La.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
Oh, that's fun.

Speaker 13 (31:43):
He's an LA transplant. He came here when he was
in the service, and that my mom, my mom was
originally from Boyle Heights. He fell in love with her
at first sight.

Speaker 10 (31:54):
Oh, I love that lay.

Speaker 13 (31:56):
Then he came back and met and married her and
never left. He came here before the freeways.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Oh, come on your road, freeways. Can we talk to him?

Speaker 13 (32:07):
You want to talk to him? Yes, okay, Dad, So
here's Ellen, Okay, hello, ell hey Norman.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
We just wanted to shout you out. At ninety six
years old, you know everything about LA and your daughter
tells us that you got here before the roads were
even in town.

Speaker 10 (32:28):
Yeah, right before free ways.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
Well, so what do you make of these ten lane
crazy four oh five freeways?

Speaker 10 (32:37):
Well, okay, it's always yeah, yeah, right.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
Yes, Oh my gosh, Norman. We heard about your love
story with your wife and how you met her and
it was love at first sight.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Yeah, it was site Norman with all of your LA
knowledge and you know experience. Do you have a favorite
restaurant in La?

Speaker 10 (32:58):
Favorite Langers?

Speaker 12 (33:01):
Yees?

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Do you have a special dish you get there? We
should rename it the Norman.

Speaker 10 (33:08):
Well, well then it Norman Special nineteen.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Okay, all right, Norman, thank you for coming on the
radio with us.

Speaker 10 (33:18):
Okay, thank you.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Yeah, the number nineteen at Langers. It's hot Pastrami for
Norman ninety six years old.

Speaker 14 (33:26):
It's the K Morning Show and let's see you every day.
I love you guys.

Speaker 8 (33:30):
Coast one O three point five.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
It's Coast one of three point five with the L
and K Morning Show. I think we should be honoring
nurses and teachers every day, so whenever it comes to
a day to appreciate, you should appreciate these things all
the time. I'm glad we get a special day though,
also in a special week. And we got a letter
from nurse Mandy who fell in love with a guy
motorcycle patient named Bradley. He has been discharged. They're both

(33:57):
battling the same thing. He was bat well, he was
battling back for his health and she was battling the
end of her marriage. So they bonded in the hospital
and it wasn't until after he was discharged that they
are now in a relationship in love and Mandy's afraid
to tell her coworkers. So Christin, you are a nurse
here in LA, what are your thoughts on this?

Speaker 11 (34:21):
This is kind of one of those sticky situations that
nurses find themselves in because the other caller with the
trauma bonds. That is a very real thing when you
think about what's happening at the bedside when you're caring
for somebody who's not doing well, A lot of emotions,
a lot of feelings go back and forth, and it's

(34:41):
a very intimate moment when somebody is sick in a
hospital bed, and as nurses, we do hold back, we
do try to keep things professional, but we're there crying
with our patients, we're holding their hands, and it is
those emotions are definitely a two way street, but there
is a line and we're all very aware of it.
And who's to say this woman had a deep connection.

(35:05):
The patient reached out to her long after the fact.
I don't see a problem with.

Speaker 10 (35:11):
That at all.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
All Right, Ryan's like you were saying, could she lose
your job? The answer we got was no. And then
you know, is it okay? And the answer we got
was yes.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Others though, have said she she broke quote unquote nurse code, right,
which I guess, I mean, of course that's a thing
amongst nurses, but is it technically right crossing the line?

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Right?

Speaker 3 (35:32):
Well, they're in love. So we're going to play the mushroom.

Speaker 14 (35:37):
And La wakes up with the l and K Morning
show the BETS radio station one oh three point five.

Speaker 8 (35:43):
Host one oh three point.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
Five, and it is love for nurse Mandy. Former patient
Bradley motorcycle accident and she nursed him back to health
and he was discharged. Another in love. So let's go
to Teresa, a nurse administrator. So you were there overseeing
nursing departments, focusing on all the business aspects. You heard

(36:06):
this letter, and Teresa, what do you think.

Speaker 14 (36:10):
This is really normal?

Speaker 3 (36:13):
Okay?

Speaker 14 (36:13):
And the fact that she is feeling her feels about it,
and I guess she feels bad about it.

Speaker 7 (36:22):
She feels good.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
I think she feels like she, they're like her. Coworkers
will lose respect for her and not believe her that
they didn't connect until after he was discharged.

Speaker 14 (36:32):
Right, and and she thinks, so judge, judger, but I
have seen this a million times, and usually the nurse
doesn't care. I mean, I've seen relationships start when there
are still patients in the hospital.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
Okay, all right, all right.

Speaker 14 (36:47):
So character, the fact that she feels like this is
she's a very good person. She seems very sweet, and
nothing she is doing is wrong.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
Okay, great.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
We love to hear that, Teresa. We listen.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
We don't judge, and we're so happy that you could
give your input because this is going to help Mandy
so much.

Speaker 14 (37:06):
Yes, yes, yes, absolutely, I'm very happy for her, and.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
We're happy that you listen. Thanks for having us on.

Speaker 14 (37:11):
Thank you, I love you, guys.

Speaker 8 (37:14):
La wakes up with the Ellen k Morning Show.

Speaker 1 (37:22):

for nurse and Mandy.

Speaker 3 (37:26):

getting responses. She fell in love with the former patient.

this one. But thank you for all your input. And
