Speaker 1 (00:01):
Jimmy Kimmel Giving Tuesday. We are here with the man, Jimmy.
Thank you so much for always giving and giving and giving.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Well, you know, it's better than taking and taking and taking.
Guess that's what Santa Claus told us.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Well, you were one of the chairs of the one
hundred and twenty fifth anniversary of Children's Hospital Los Angeles,
and I just want to take you back to nineteen
hundred if you don't mind. Yeah, this is when the
hospital was founded. So there were one hundred thousand people
who lived here in la The entertainment industry which you

(00:38):
now work in, was just getting off the ground, and
we are pre railroad farms in La. Hey.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
You could you imagine how dirty the hospital was. Come on,
the cafeteria must have been a disaster. Probably live goats
walking around. They were using leeches. I mean, it is
unbelievable that a hospital could be one hundred and twenty
five years old.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
How is that and growing every year?

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Yeah, and a clean as a whistle. Now, it really
is remarkable, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
So let's talk about it. You have long been a
member of the family at CHLA and we're so happy
that Billy is healthy now. But you know, Billy got
that life saving care, and now I hear that he's
running around the house naked and things like that.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
He's a crazy little boy. And we made the mistake
of showing him Happy Gilmour the other day, which has
opened up a whole new world of nonsense. Yes, but
he did. He had three heart surgeries, one when he
was just born, another six months later, and another about
a year and a half ago, and they were scary
and all of those things that you expect when you're

(02:01):
a parent. Your child his life is endangered. But I
cannot think of a better place to take him than
Children's Hospital, and everyone there is just really wonderful. Obviously,
they're experts when it comes to medical care, and they
do their best, as I'm sure most, if not all,
doctors do, But the way they treat parents and the kids,

(02:24):
it's just it's very special and it's very specialized, and
it's worth supporting. You know. I've been supporting Children's Hospital
since well before I even had a second set of kids,
and before Billy was born, and so it was you know,
it's kind of a strange thing when you support something

(02:45):
and then it touches you personally, and I do want
to promise that if you join in supporting Children's Hospital,
it doesn't necessary, it doesn't increase your odds that you're
going to need.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Them right there, and you do.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
You will greatly appreciate all the people who do so
much to the support the hospital, for sure.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Yeah, so CHLA with delivering care one out of every
five kids in Los Angeles and one hundred and twenty
five years. This is our tenth year with Giving Tuesday,
and our tenth year with Jimmy Kimmel because you show
up every single year. But it's not just on this day, Jimmy.
We know it's every day for you.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
And listen, let's not praise me too much. I know
you do a lot for CHLA and a lot for
a lot of places, and it's a privilege. And I
feel lucky to be able to tell people about Children's
Hospital for sure. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
I was thinking from the beginning of this year till now.
You know, the fires and then the World Championship, Dodgers,
and you've had your own personal challenges and now here
we are, and I just always think if CHLA is
such a constant comforting place.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
It is, for sure, And it's funny the range of
things that you listened there. First of all, it's really
hard to believe that the fires for this year, isn't it, Jimmy.
It's bananas to even think about that. Even the Dodgers
seems like a long time ago for some reason. But yeah,
I you know, I've had I've had kind of a

(04:20):
bad year, to be honest with you, and I will
tell you that it makes me more thankful and grateful
for the things that I have and the people of
my life and all these great doctors and nurses, and
it's it's a good thing, you know what. We're as
grim as things can be. I think we're lucky that

(04:41):
we're not living in eighteen ninety nine.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
That's right. I agree totally. You know what those goats
in the cafeteria, Yeah, a better time, that's right. And
Jimmy Kimmel always leading with your heart. Thank you so much, Jimmy.
We we live it with you, so you know we
feel for you and we're always here for you, and
we know that you're always here for a c h

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Thank you, thank you, and thanks for reminding everybody about
this important stuff.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
And happy holidays, Happy holidays, Our love to Molly and
the kids.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Thanks you guys, do take care.

Speaker 1 (05:14):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
