So I'm Ellen k Ryan, Social Queen Darling.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
And a producer Mike Romos. All right, eleven eleven. This
is a magical day. Anyway we wake up with these numbers.
You know how that started was singles. Singles were saying
eleven eleven because it's all single numbers. Yeah, like like
one hundred years ago or something. And then it just
morphed into this magical numerology which Ryan doesn't really believe in.

(00:40):
But I know you believe in the power of eleven eleven.
I do.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
I do. I'm getting there. I'm warming to it.

Speaker 3 (00:47):

good physique or salary.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Okay, let's talk about that for a second. Is that
true for you?

Speaker 7 (02:16):
Like if Roy said Babe, I got this, I did this,
Oh my god, do you like would you just swoon?

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Absolutely wouldn't you. I mean, as a guy. I don't
think it's just women. If a woman took.

I thrive on doing that. Huh Yeah, I like that.
That's attractive.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
This commercial for booking dot Com shows Teddy Swims in
a robe channeling a humorous Ron Burgundy vibe, saying I'm
doing the sexiest thing a man can do, taking the
reins and booking the trip for your significant other. Yep, okay,
what about this Kim Kardashian. She's venting after she failed
the bar. She said that four psychics assured her that
she would pass, and now she's calling them pathological liars.

(03:00):
Allie Clarkson is so much fun in Vegas. She told
her audience that a former manager once told her to
change her body.

Speaker 2 (03:07):

Did you guys know that giving blood makes you prettier
or more attractive or handsome if you're a man.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Yeah, I had no idea. My husband gives blood all
of the time and he's actually he's given so many
pints that gave him a pen and a certificate. Yeah,
he regularly gives blood.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
That's awesome.

Speaker 7 (05:34):
Yeah, I'm so proud of him. Each donation saves multiple lives.
I mean, it's so important too. As we get closer
to the season of giving, consider this. Donating blood makes
you more attractive. Research finds that it improves your collagen,
which leads to healthier skin and generally gives you anti
aging benefits.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
How about that?

Speaker 3 (05:51):
That's great.

Speaker 7 (05:51):
Not just that, but it improves your blood flow, it
reduces iron overload, it detoxifies you, and improves your immune system.

Speaker 12 (05:59):
So yeah, speaking of which, right now, City of Hope,
if you donate to them, they're doing things all month long.
And for our friend who is a listener, Sophia, she's
an employee there, and if you donate, your blood hours
go towards her to take time off to do her chemo.
Oh and there's several ways to pay it forwards.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
So check out City of Hope.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
If you're looking at one.

Speaker 6 (06:23):

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Com, Top stories, Top of the hour. Good morning, you're
on your Tuesday, November eleventh. It's eleven eleven. I'm ellen
K and Happy Veterans Day. We're honoring and celebrating every
active and retired member of our US military. We thank
you endlessly for your service. So many deals for you
today and free things. Portos always honoring every single day.

(06:53):
Just the list is super long. It's been observed with
the day off for federal employees, including postal workers, courts
and offices, banks close, some schools. Two more than forty
local spots serving up steals and deals. We have all
of them posted at Coast one, O three five, dot
com and thirteen. Major Italian pasta brands are facing a
critical threat of disappearing from our grocery shelves as new

(07:14):
tariffs take hold. You know, maybe you've noticed some the
tariffs in your life. I know that seller's advantage. One
of our partners says, it's made wood more expensive, things
like that. But this one, pasta, this is going to
affect all of us, especially at my house. The US
plans to impost a vine tariff of one hundred and
seven percent a fifteen percent baseline EU import duty, plus

(07:34):
an additional ninety two percent anti dumping levy on Italian
pasta imports after a prob ledge that Italian producers sold
pasta in the US at unfairly low prices. Among the
brands affected our household Italian names like Urumo, Garoffalo, Let's
see La Molisana, and Burrilla. The steep tariff is forcing
some companies to either hike US retail prices or withdraw

(07:55):
from the market entirely, and this is such a feel good.
After receiving a call about a branded Southern Sea otter
pup in Morro Bay, a Marine Mammal Center team rescued
the otter pup caterpillar and used her recorded calls to
help find her mom. After hours of searching, mom appeared
and the two were reunited. Mom and mommy took baby

(08:20):
and swam away. The Marine Mammal Center team stayed with
them for an hour to make sure that everything went smoothly,
and it did. And we're kicking into our cooling trend today.
Cloudy too attempts falling ten degrees beautiful here in Burbank,
but low seventies by tomorrow. Rain is on the way
Thursday to Friday, Long Beach where Fluffy Gabriela Glaciers is

(08:40):
waking up. It is going up to seventy five. And
let's see Lancaster, you go up to eighty today. It's
fifty five in Burbank, Kost, Los Angeles. It's Coast one
of three point five presented by Selsey's Energy Drinks coming out.
More of your four packs. Keep leaving those talkbacks.

Speaker 8 (08:58):
It's the L and K.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
Moore.

Speaker 8 (09:00):
Thank you, so much.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
I love you, guys.

Speaker 11 (09:02):

(09:29):
Eleven eleven love the power of eleven. My husband's lucky number.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
I'm Ellen K, I'm Ryan Mano, I'm Social Queen Darling.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
The number newser micromos. Speaking of numbers six seven?

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Did you say six to seven?

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Yeah? I said six seven. You know it still works?
What star six to seven will?

Speaker 4 (09:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Still it's still you, guys, It still exists. Star six
seven blocks your number from appearing on a caller ID
for a single call by displaying private or blocked instead.
I just tested it. My husband and I did Star
six seven that his number and it came up blocked.
Really yeah, So it's a per call blocking. I mean
you can, you've got settings in your phone where you
can block everything, but this is a per call So

(10:12):
it's Star six to seven before each call you wish
to make private. And we kind of grew up with
that stuff and it's still it still exists. That technology
is still there. It's kind of comforting. I think it's
a retro. Yeah, it's really cool. Star six seven is
dial that. If you're just learning this, dial Star six
to seven before that phone number that you are calling.

(10:33):
If you're kid in the car right now, this is
technology you didn't grow up with.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Now you can.

Speaker 7 (10:38):
I remember one time, I think I downloaded an app
and you can put in someone else's number to call,
and I called you as our boss, Yes, remember that?

Speaker 2 (10:45):
And you answered the phone, Hi, John, and I said, nope,
it's me. I was like, that breaks me out. I
know you didn't like it.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
That was wild. Yeah, there are all kinds of ways
to prank someone, right, I have it. Dial six seven
is still I don't know. I just really I liked
Star six to seven. It just makes me feel good
for some weird reason. So, SOO talk back Tuesday. We
love your talkbacks. Anything that's on your mind. Let's go

way off, but my husband always say of our problems

(13:00):

Amy is a nurse on her way to work.

Speaker 5 (17:25):
Hi.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Amy, Hi, good morning, Good morning Amy. We're still looking
for the right answer. Ten percent of all adults have
done what at work? Cheated with their boss, cheated with
their boss. Do you find that a high number? Ten percent?

Speaker 12 (17:41):
It's pretty high, but I want to put it past it.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Yeah, well, you're a nurse. You're in the medical profession,
and we're hearing that the medical profession has a much
higher percentage of these goings on. Maybe that's why I
guessed it.

Speaker 8 (17:53):
Then Yeah, yeah, all.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
Right, you're walking the walk. You are right, You're going
to ed sharing it.

Ten percent of all adults have had an affair with
their boss.

Speaker 10 (18:07):
Oh that's crazy, but I see it happening.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Yeah, we know you do. Ten percent of all adults
at work an affair with their boss. It's ed scheron
a sofa statum, way to go, Amy, Amy got it.
She's a nurse. She sees it, and she says that
is the right answer. The most famous at work affair
lately is the two who got busted on the Jumbo
Tromp by Chris Martinet. Cold.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Either they're having an affair or they have this grunt
shop nailed it.

Speaker 8 (18:37):
Yeah, he nailed it.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Are you one of the ten percent? Leave us a

Where are we? Last night, the Senate officially locked in
a deal to complete funding from here, that bill goes
to the House for consideration. Speaker Mike Johnson says he
expects a vote in the lower chamber as early as tomorrow.
And here is Senate Majority Leader John Thune.

Speaker 9 (21:11):
This has been a very long road, quite literally the
longest shutdown in history. I am very very happy to
be able to say that we are coming to the end.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
So realistically, we could see this thing wrap by Friday.
A bunch of beach warnings out this morning. The La
County Health Department says avoid swimming, surfing, or playing at
the following spots. If you do have the day off today,
avoid this Interercabrio, Santa Monica Pier, Mother's Beach, Paradise Cove.
The advisories are expected to stay in place for days,
especially as we get rained and run off later in

(21:44):
the week. And there's a new way to eat your
Brussels sprouts, assuming you're willing to down a jiggly green

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
