Yeah. So, I am Cocaine High School football right now,
and I'm feeling pretty frustrated with the team consistently showing
up late, not participating, not going one hundred percent. They
lave discipline, and trying to dealing with the parents to
kind of get the parents help, like to have them
be motivated with the kids. It's been in an issue.

So I address these issues with the parents, and it's
literally taking a home of coaching this year.

Okay, Rick, what I think is happening is that this
is more important to you than it is to the
kids or their parents, And it sounds like you're actually
working harder than they are. And when we're in a
system that's unbalanced like that, you are really the only

person who has the ability to come down and meet them.

I get that this is probably the last thing that
you want to do, but you may have to accept
the reality of the situation.

Yeah, that's hard, especially being a coach. That's really tough.

working and giving one hundred percent. And then when you
see that, you said high school. What grade are they?

Ninety twelve? So that's you know what, fourteen to eighteen
year old.

Don't have a protentive year. Then the parents are mad
about that. So that's the balance. I'm trying to have
a great year with the kids. So we have a

I took that was one of my favorite ever was
going to see the Big Fat Bears of Alaska with
my dad and my son and my husband. We went
to Katmi and Brooks Falls. That's where those bears when
you see them all over TV and pictures, that's where
they're catching and eating those salmon. And Chunk was named

the winner of the Fat Bear Week. You know, you vote,
and people from all over the world chose Chunk with
his broken jaw, he still managed to get the fattest
with a broken jaw. And that's salmon is just you know,
they just put their paw out and then they just

over and over again. And my dad loved those bears

have this little angel watching over you, and when they

I had open heart surgery August twenty fifth, twenty twenty two,
and my granddaughter gave me back the little angel told
me the same thing. I had a quadruple bypass.

And she played it forward because I told her hold
on to the angel, because you're gonna have good Lord's
dust inside of your heart.

Yeah. So, I am Cocaine High School football right now,
and I'm feeling pretty frustrated with the team consistently showing
up late, not participating, not going one hundred percent. They
lave discipline, and trying to dealing with the parents to
kind of get the parents help, like to have them
be motivated with the kids. It's been in an issue.

So I address these issues with the parents, and it's
literally taking a home of coaching this year.
Speaker 9 (14:09):
Okay, Rick, what I think is happening is that this
is more important to you than it is to the
kids or their parents, And it sounds like you're actually
working harder than they are. And when we're in a
system that's unbalanced like that, you are really the only

person who has the ability to come down and meet them.

Now.

I get that this is probably the last thing that
you want to do, but you may have to accept
the reality of the situation.

Yeah, that's hard, especially being a coach. That's really tough.

Yeah, Yeah, you have standards and expectations, and you're there
working and giving one hundred percent. And then when you
see that, you said high school. What grade are they?

Ninety twelve? So that's you know what, fourteen to eighteen
year old.

Don't have a protentive year. Then the parents are mad
about that. So that's the balance. I'm trying to have
a great year with the kids. So we have a
great year.

When my granddaughter was having open heart surgery, I had

have this little angel watching over you, and when they

I had open heart surgery August twenty fifth, twenty twenty two,
and my granddaughter gave me back the little angel told
me the same thing. I had a quadruple bypass.

And she played it forward because I told her hold
on to the angel, because you're gonna have good Lord's
dust inside of your heart.

Legendary animal rights activists and chimpanzee researcher Jane Goodall has
passed at the age of ninety one. A statement from
the Jane Goodall Institute said she passed of natural causes
and was in California on a speaking tour. She began
her unusual career at the age of twenty six by

studying chimps in Gombay Stream National Park in Tanzania, and
as she discovered that they display behavior similar to humans,
such as having distinct personalities and using their own tools.
She also found that brands of chimpanzees would hunt and
kill smaller primates for food. Just so many discoveries before

she passed, Jane reflected on her hope for the entire world.
