Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mckenzay. I wanted to get an update on how your
dog walking's going on. And you've been doing this work
a couple of weeks now.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Yeah, this will be my fourth week doing it probably,
so almost a month.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
You getting be like a professional now I feel like it.
I'm booked and busy.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Are you a dog whisperer? I mean, do you know
how to handle the dogs? I mean they are pretty
calm dogs.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
You know.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
I've honestly gotten so lucky.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I feel like Birmingham, they only this city only breeds
golden doodles.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
That's really the majority of what I get.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
But I have that first Golden Retriever though, and I
know that you and Judy are fans of Golden Retrievers
at the best.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
He was such a sweet dog.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
You know, it's so funny you mentioned golden doodles. I
think that, you know, Golden Retrievers are not the only
ones being bred with poodles. And it's like something doodle.
I mean, oh it's a Winkie doodle. Oh it's a
you know, Cosmo doodle. It's like they're doodle city out there.
But it's funny. Both my kids have Golden doodles.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
See there you go.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I mean, I'm telling you, it's everyone that I've come across,
it's except for the Golden Retriever has been a golden doodle,
so right, And I.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Got to tell you they're they're wired, They're they're crazy,
they're they're bouncy, they're wild. Initially when you see them,
do they does this one jump up all over you
and go crazy when you see it.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I've actually gotten so lucky. Very ten dogs, yes, very calm.
The Golden Retriever was way more hyper than the Golden
Doodles were not commin no that being so serious without
hesitation say that.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Well that's kind of crazy. But well, got good. I'm
glad to see that everything's working on. And you know
you get in shape too. Killing two birds with one
stone here.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yeah, I'm actually I'm walking a lot more miles than
you know before, which was zero. So right, you know
they're thirty minute walks.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yeah, every day of the week, just not weekends.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah, but it's fantastic.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I mean, if you think about it, thirty minute walks.
I mean I get it like a mile and a
half in for each dog because you know, they got
to stop and do their business.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
But right, right, I mean part dog. So I'm getting
some steps in.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Do you walk some together? They're all solo trips.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I do them separately. Just you know how many Up
to now, I've anywhere between three and four.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I have two, you know, two repeats every week, and
then I pick up some more. But I mean, I'm
telling you, if you want to get out there and
you make some money and you feel some weight.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
And get in good shape, that's pretty good. Speaking of jobs,
I don't know if you saw this. Amazon said yesterday
that they're going to plan to hire two hundred and
fifty thousand seasonal workers for the holiday shopping period.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
That is crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I wonder if they're going to have a high, you know,
hourly rate for those seasonal workers or if it'll be well.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
The job pays an average of nineteen dollars an hour
over nineteen with the regular employees aftering twenty three dollars
an hour plus benefits. This year's overall seasonal job market
expected fall to its lowest level since two thousand and nine,
by the way, with retailers adding fewer than five hundred
thousand positions compared to about five hundred and forty three
thousand last year are the retailers like Cohal's and Target

(02:47):
have been cautious about announcing hiring numbers. The pullback comes
as the broader job market is cooling off a little bit,
with employers adding only twenty two thousand jobs this past August.
But Tange, you want some high side, it's a lot
of extra money during the holidays. Check with Amazon. They're
hiring right now.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
You know, I worked seasonal math and body works in college,
and even though you know you may be classified as
part time, they will let you stack up some hours
at least when I work there as a seasonal employee.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
I love our Amazon drivers that come through our neighborhood.
They're they're becoming like the postal people. They're regular folks.
I see them all the time, and I mean they're busy.
I mean our neighborhoods. I don't know what these people
are buying, but they're up and down our street all
the time.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
And have you seen the videos of people that leave
out treats for their Amazon delivery drivers. They'll leave out
you know, like ask Crispy treats or something on a
table like thank you so much during the holidays because
they're working so many now, yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
During the holidays for sure. Yeah, yeah, a lot of times.
I tried to have an Amazon driver bottle of wine.
A few weeks ago, i'd just gotten back from the
grocery store. I was pulling groceries in and he pulled
up and he was busy running. I said, hey, man,
I got a little summer. He said, I couldn't take it.
I can't take alcohol.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Sorry. Oh well, hey, if y'all need anything delivered, I
will deliver it.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
For a bottle of wine,
