Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, as we know, the National Guard finally got to Illinois.
They've been talking about this for quite some time now
is it's a bit of a mess there. And the
reason they sent them not to do the police officers jobs,
but they sent them because ICE facilities are under attack
from idiots. So you start attacking federal workers and federal

(00:20):
you know installations like ice can you know, centers and
deportation proceedings. This is a federal issue, enforcing law in
our country. And when you get crazies that don't like,
you know, people enforcing the law and they want to
get violent about it, well there's going to be consequences.
And hence the landing of our National Guard brought up

(00:40):
from Texas to Texas governors all about it.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Absolutely, here you go.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Yesterday Pam Bondi was being confronted in the Senate by
Democrats and a bit of a crazy little scene on
all types of different subject matter from Epstein to you know,
President Trump's actions. I think she held her ground pretty well.
Roy O'Neil joined US Now correspondent Roy good morning.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Hey there, JT.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Good morning. Yeah, this was an oversight hearing my Senate judiciary.
So you can expect a lot of fireworks from the
opposing party, right, and there were a lot of It
appeared that the Attorney General showed up prepared, so rather
than sort of directly answered questions, she had like opposition
research on each of the Democratic senators who was questioning her,

(01:23):
so she would sort of pivot and make a different
accusation against that senator rather than address the meat of
the question. And a lot of the questions by Democrats
were they were gotcha questions in their first sound bites
and headlines. I get that, but there are something that
you know, like ooh, I would like to know the
answer to that.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
And then we got a dodge on well, so what
did she say about the Epstein situation?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
To me, it sounded like she never.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Really got to answer any of it, and there was
still just more deflection on that.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, there really was just more deflection, and you know,
she said that you'll go see my earlier answers or
Senator white House of Rhode Island had asked her about
the story about Epstein showing photos to Trump and she's like, well,
why were you taking money from an Epstein friend in
your campaign? And you're like, well, wait it so it

(02:10):
was like that all the time. It was a pivot
and an attack rather than answering some questions. Again, I
will concede the Democrats were grand standing. I get it.
But at the same time, some of those questions were legit,
like what's your legal argument for allowing a president to
order the boats get sunk off the coast of Venezuela
and instead as well, how come you're not paying them,

(02:31):
you're voting for a shutdown? Like okay, I get it,
but that's a good question.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Well, you know, here's the situation. You have a battle
and a war against the drugs in our country here.
It's just gotten out of control over the last administration's
four years in office with the open border policy. So
the president came in, he said, I'm going to make
America safe again. I'm going to you know, fight the cartels,
and we're going to stop the insanity and the illegal

(02:57):
drug trafficking going on here. So when they have known
drug boats, you know, bringing in millions of dollars worth
of drugs and they're coming and they have you know,
intelligence that says this is what they're doing, and they
take them out of the water, can I see a
show of hands in the room of anybody that has
a problem with that, Oh, okay, nobody, I do.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
I do you have a problem with taking out these drugs?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Absolute?

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Why?

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Why?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Why is that? Do you like drugs in our country?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Of course not, but I don't. Well, there're summarily executing people.
We don't know who's on the boats. The boats are no, no, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
They had full and this is randomly taking boats because
they look like they're wrapped cocaine in a boat. They
have intelligence to go after these people. They're not just
willy nilly in this, are you sure?

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Well, we haven't seen intelligence. We haven't seen There were many.
The first one they took out had seven people on it,
which is a high number. The boats are not headed
toward the US directly. Yeah, there are a lot of
questions about this, and it just seems to be happening
at the president's discretion.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Well to me, you know, it's law enforcement doing their job,
and transparency is one thing, but you know, showing you
a complete hand on how we do our job to
come back crime is also not a good idea for
the criminals to understand how you operate.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
But then you're executing all of them. Okay, so so
without trial.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Oh, the due process thing again. All right, well, let's
talk about the government shutdown. We got to move on here.
We'll come back to that later. A lot of people,
you know, delayed. I saw a figure that forty six
percent of delays are taking place out there, but at
the end of the day ninety seven percent to finally
took off. But it's certainly being felt the government shutdown.

(04:33):
When it comes to air travel.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Right, it's sporadic, right, it's not widespread. And look, there's
a lot of bad weather today also from Washington, d c.
Up to Boston, so that may have separate issues as well.
But we are seeing more and more air traffic controllers
call in sick. We heard from Secretary Duffy on Fox
and Friends yesterday saying that at the airport in Burbank,
no one showed up to work for I think nine hours,

(04:57):
so that caused.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Some re routing.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
So yeah, these are the things that are popping up,
and we're hearing that there are more questions about whether
or not the furloughed employees will actually be getting their
back pay. President Trump said it depends on their role.
You know, members of Congress seem to be pushed back
saying no, no, no, no, everyone will be getting their back pay,
but that's something that's going to have to be addressed

(05:20):
apparently in either some sort of an amendment or funding
mechanism to make sure that happens.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yeah, and well hopefully they're going to get something worked
out here sooner than later, because it's just going to
ripple effect and start to affect all of us at
some point, no doubt.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Right, Thank you for the update. I appreciate you, buddy,
