Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining us. Now, Ken Bealkan, our attorney friend from New
York City. And first, Ken, before we talk about Adam
Schiff and possibly going to jail, crush your fingers, let's
talk about what's happening with zarn Mundani. Unbelievable now. Apparently
he's soaring in the polling numbers here and looks like
this whole thing could be, you know, tough to beat
him at this point, good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yeah, tough to beat him.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
I think it's going to be impossible to beat him.
I'm going to be living pretty soon in the People's
Republic of New York City, so that's just where we're at.
You know, we've got really no one that comes close
to him in the polls. And you know, I thought
New York's supposed to be such a smart city. We're
about to make a colossally stupid mistake.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
And it looks like younger voters. Do you think this
is the new wave of the Democratic Party? And you know,
because let's just call it the core of the Democratic
Party and what the court in the base is, it's
an older generation for sure. When you look at Schumer
and these people and Elizabeth Warren and you know, all
the others. And this is an energized, charismatic guy. Do

(01:08):
these young people care about the fact that he just
kind of hates any policy that protects them in the city,
protects the borders, grows economy, and they're okay with They
don't do any homework on what Venezuela took place, you
know there with socialism, and I mean, it just it
just doesn't work. So what do you think the vibe
is all about.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
I think this is a younger generation that's going to
have to reckon with some of the historical lessons that
we've all learned. And one of those historical lessons is
that communism and socialism, wherever it's tried, always ends in failure.
It ends up doing the opposite of what it sets
out to do.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
It sets out to create this egalitarian society with no classes,
where everyone's needs and wants are taken care of it and
it all sounds nice, and believe me, I was sympathetic
to it when I was in my twenties, But the
reality is throughout history, everywhere it's been tried, it leads
to starvation, it leads to tyranny, it leads to repression,

(02:06):
and you know, this might be a lesson that New
York is going to have to learn firsthand.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Wow, people are leaving in droves in that city and
the Republican and they definitely are clear about that in
New York they don't want a Republican running things up there.
I think the guy's only got what twelve percent tops,
I think Curtis Sliwa, So that's yeah, it's and then
you got the governor Cuomo who is basically run out

(02:33):
on sexual misconduct accusations, and Eric Adams is at the
bottom of the pack. I mean there's nobody real, you know,
really a contender. I mean, the options weren't all that good.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
No, it's really surprising.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
You would think in the city of New York we
would be able to find someone better than Andrew Cuomo,
Curtis Sliwa or Eric Adams. But apparently New Yorkers feel
that that's someone better is Zoorun Mamdani. You know, when
he gets elected and he walks into city Hall in
January of twenty twenty six, we're going to have an

(03:06):
exodus of cops like you've never seen in this city
at a time that really the city is already about
five to ten thousand officers short of where it really
needs to be.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Public safety needs well.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I pray and hope that the right, you know person
gets in this you know position, because it's a detrimental
to the city and all of its residents are going
to feel it for years to come. There's no doubt
about that. You know, you think DC's bad, you look
out and see what happens if this comes down.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Yeah, I mean, look, we're all up. People are up
in arms of his federal takeover in DC.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
I was saying this to someone last night.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
You know, come January twenty twenty six, when when all
the cops quit or resign, or a good amount of
them do, and public safety gets out of control, we
might be clamoring for a takeover of New York City
by the Feds, because, quite frankly, you know, Donald Trump
was a New York City resident, and he did a
lot of good things for this city, and I would

(04:05):
quite frankly trust him and his administration to run New
York City. He knows it better than someone who's only
been here for a couple of years, like Zoram Mumdani,
who's only thirty three and never even really run anything.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
As far as I could.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
See, Well, he came off as far left socialist platforms
because it was really not ringing, you know, solid, and
he says, all right, well, how about this platform I
hate Trump? Okay, now we're all on board. Yeah, let's go.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
So well, that's all the Democrats have in New York,
their hatred of Trump. They have no policies, they have
no ideas or solution.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yeah, that's all they got across the country. Speaking of Democrats,
Senator Adam Schiff under federal criminal investigation for the mortgage
fraud violations. I mean, there's there's the investigation. I mean,
the Democrats are full of this kind of ick. And
so do you think potentially, as a lawyer, the realistic
chance of him going to jail or is there or not?

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Realistically?

Speaker 3 (04:58):
I don't think he's going to be going to jail.
Did he commit you know, mortgage fraud by claiming his
primary residence you know, was in California, then claiming it's
in Maryland to get to get better terms when he
purchased a Maryland home on his loan. Look, he clearly
committed the crime. I don't think he's going to be
prosecuted for it. My understanding is they really don't prosecute

(05:21):
this type of crime unless you know, the purp fails
to pay back the loan or it gets into other trouble,
you know. But it is, It is a violation of
the law. It is a crime, and it's a paperwork crime.
So there's a very clear trail of it. You can't
have two primary residences, right, you know, and to lie

(05:42):
and say that you do in order to get favorable
terms and a loan is unacceptable especially.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
So, yeah, it's a crime.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
And he's a congressman, so you know he's supposed to
be well senator now he's supposed to theoretically, you know,
amongst the best of us.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Right, I like to laugh at the end. All right,
kenn Belcan always good to catch up with you, buddy.
We'll be praying for that beautiful city to get back
on track. Thank you, sir,
