Speaker 1 (00:00):
Award winning filmmaker and also author and cultural commentator Greg Gravit,
who joined us once again. Greg, welcome in, Thanks for
being here.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Thank you. How are you doing.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
I'm doing pretty good. I wanted to talk to you
because I knew you were all over this and what's
happening with socialism in our country and what's going on
in New York City now with this mayoral race, I
guess it's what less than two weeks away where they're
going to like this guy, it looks like double digit
lead over Cuomo and Suela, the other guy in the
race who's the Republican but doesn't have a shot. I mean,
(00:28):
it seems that every major city run by Democrats is
more and more socialists. And the policies and plan that
they're coming up with. It sounds great if you've just
come out of a cave your entire life and.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Go, wow, that sounds pretty good.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
But do some history, folks, and look anywhere in the
world and tell me where these kind of policies have
prospered people.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Yeah, no, absolutely, Uh. You know, China's Mao Mao China
and the great lead forward. A million people die forced
communism to try to be free everything. It is frustrating.
And the black I wrote this week, it's just it
mostly came from a place that it's frustration because I've
been teaching part of full time for twenty years and
(01:14):
making films and teaching students, and it is just getting worse.
I got to tell you, less and less and less
sense of history, less sense of g Has this ever
been tried before. Yeah, it's been tried so many times,
and it feels because it doesn't get the basic core
about human nature correct. There's theory and then you try
(01:36):
to impose it and it falls short because it gets
human nature wrong. People like to achieve, people like to
do their best, people like to not have limits on
what they can do. So you're absolutely right. In New
York City, you have lots of immigrants, you have a
lot of controversies now about illegal immigrants being able to vote.
You've got a lot of people that want a lot
of free stuff. And it's like, darned the debt Bedarne
(02:00):
learned right, And with mom Donnie saying the other day
that I has no respect for the rule of law,
and New York City is going to be a sanctuary
city even more, he's going to Trump Proof the city
he's going to give all this free stuff. I'm telling you,
it's going to be a nightmare. But it is not
just a one off. We see this now in several
(02:22):
of our cities. Greg.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
You know, it's obviously, you know, troublesome to see what's
going on, and you know, the ignorance of what it's
all about from the people that are voting for this
type of thing is one thing. But what's even more
bothersome to me is when Obama was the president of
the United States, and it goes back to the whole
globalization mindset that he had. He shipped money to terrorists
(02:45):
to try and hug our enemy, and they'll come around
and we'll understand each other. I think there's some intentional
movement to destroy this country by the far left in
the deep State, and they don't like the United States
being a capitalist society with growth and prosperity and operating
from a position of strength and power in the world.
(03:06):
And they want this country to be more on a
level playing field with the rest of the globe. So
once again the big picture of what democrats like to do,
more government, more control over you. So they have the
steering wheel of how this thing goes, and they'll destroy
the country to get it to where they want. And
(03:27):
I just think that that evil underlying belly that they're
all in is what's driving this now. And I think
naive whatever you want to call people that are jumping
on board with us are just really getting the steamroll
or moving here. So I want to get your thoughts
on the intention of trying to do this to this
(03:48):
country by these people.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Yeah, I mean, you know what was Nikita Kruztrev called
the people that follow the communism and socialism but don't
have an idea of the real outcome useful idiots. I
agree with you, think you're spot out. I think it's
a mix of night being naive. I think it's also
a dangerous toxic brew, especially now with the Mamdani type.
This is we're seeing a little different now because it
(04:11):
we're seeing him support a global into fada. As you'll notice,
he refuses to condemn it. He refuses to condemn clearly
and full throat political violence. So we're seeing it. It's
got a twist, and the twist is even more dangerous
in terms of not reform, as you say, not making
(04:32):
things better, but tearing the thing to the ground figuratively
and literally burn the thing to the ground to remake
it in the image of what you see once again
the failed communism, because when it fails and human nature
starts to bloom and go, my goodness, we don't all
want caps on our life and limits on our life,
(04:55):
and we don't all want to be completely equal in
every single thing. We want to be able to express
as humans what happens. You know, what happens. Then it
has to be forced imposed by violence and make you
so dependent on the government that you no longer have options.
And that's what these people, that's what these people want.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
I don't want to turn my back on this and
say they're never going to get away with it, because,
like you said at the beginning, this is growing and
getting more dangerous and scary every day with the people
that are coming on board with this mindset. I mean,
look at Dearborn, Michigan with a Sharia law. Look what's
going on with the elected officials that hate America in
our Congress. And you look at what's going on now
with Madonna. As you mentioned, anti Vada, He's all about
(05:35):
it and going to be the next mayor of New
York City. I mean New York City. That's going to
be the disaster move of the century when you watch
and see if they get these taxes passed with businesses
leave it in droves. They've got residents already. But yet
back to the useful idiots. These people are supporting this guy,
and they're going to elect them. But I got to
think is that the country as a whole, most of
(05:58):
Americans ain't putting up with this. I mean, if it
comes down to it, I'm putting my money on good
conservative Americans going not in this country.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
At least not in the rurle. I mean, I see
a real divide coming between urban and rurally, even more
so than ever things like Mary or Brandon Johnson. He's
a socialist communist with an eight percent approval rating. My goodness,
in Chicago, you've got Chicago, New York City, San Francisco,
Los Angeles, Philadelphia. You've got people now in positions not
(06:34):
only in mayors, but you've got people in positions of
prosecutors and district attorneys that have put there largely with
George Sorow's type money and kind of under the radar
where people don't really pay much attention to those elections.
Those are key to you. Have a lot of local
elections and a lot of people in places now that
share this same vision of a takeover. And you're right.
(06:58):
We don't all love America. It used to be we
all have certain shared values, but different ways that get
into the same place. We now have a big divide
over not even sharing the same values and wanting to
get to two very different places, one very dangerous and
dark and one with light. And I see that as
an divide right now.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Amen, brother, I think we're in a spiritual warfare. You're
absolutely right. It is light versus darkness at the end
of the day. In all of this, Greg Grabbito, thank you, buddy.
I appreciate you. We'll have you back soon.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
My pleasure to take care
