Speaker 1 (00:00):
The holidays are here. Tell me it's the holidays. Without
telling me it's the holidays. Oh, glow Wild is happening
at the Birmingham Zoo. That's how I know Bill Lagging
is here from the zoo. Good morning, Good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
It's very exciting because like Christmas eves, so Glow Out
opens tomorrow night, so we are super excited. We have
more than a million lights. Eighty percent of the lanterns
are brand new to us, so it's beautiful. We've been
testing him and we are ready to deliver and experience that.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Birmingham's gonna love. I am fired up for it. My grandkids,
my kids, even me and my wife absolutely love this
time of the year at the zoo. You guys go
wild and you always take care of the animals too.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Absolutely. Yeah, one of our the animals are taking care
of with night. You may see him, you may not.
They're inside outside. It kind of depends. We saw the
line last night when we were previewing it. He approves
a big roar for the show this year, so it's exciting.
Our goal is to be able to see this from space,
and I think this year we nailed it. So Alibamapower
is actually one of the supporting sponsors. They're gonna love it.
So there are lights everywhere. Chase is making this happen
(00:56):
and then I'll see ub callah and I is it
supporting sponsors. So we have delivered an amazing experience. We
swet keep able to come out and enjoy it. So
it's good at Birmingham Zoo dot com. It's got the list,
buy tickets in advance and save, It's got the whole
calendar when you need to come, It's gonna be great.
Open all of the week of Thanksgiving except for Thanksgiving night.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Of course. I always picture Clark Griswold when you guys
flip the switch for glow Wild and all of a sudden,
the meter starts going.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
We have a big crew that's watching every breaker and
all this kind of stuff. So last night we tested
and it all worked out really well, so I think
we're great.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
So when you have these many lights going on, I
really get crazy. When I have to replace two or
three light bulbs in my window at my house, I
would imagine keeping this thing lit like this is a nice,
big task.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
It is a team, and we started setting up in
late September. The lanterns started arriving in October, and you'll
see they are big and interactive. There's some really fun
stuff and we're mixing it up. I mean, it's great
for families, like you talked about green kids love this
kind of stuff. However, not everybody wants to be around
kids all the time. So on the fourth we're having
an adult night. It's nothing crazy, it's eighteen and above,
(02:05):
extra bars kind of stuff, so it's a great date night.
College friends before going back to school are just people
just kind of looking to have a friend group. In
an outing, we would just name one of the Southeast
top Lights experiences across the Southeast. We were only one
of two in Alabama, US and Bell and graft Enomobile,
so good company to keep. And so we've got there.
We've worked hard. It's all set up it.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
You know.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
We have a whole holiday lawn with gingerbread stuff. We've
got a Hanica section. We want to be inclusive to
everybody and when people to come out and experience it.
And the train, oh two trains, tea and coffee thanks
to the Red Diamond Express. They did great. They are
all lit up, they've got music. They did they're doing super.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
I love it. I love it. So where can people
once again go get the time, get the term.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Mediums dot com that runs from five until nine. Buy
your tickets to day or so early and you'll save
and it helps speed up the experience when you get there.
It's going to be we have different choirs coming. Santa
is coming Sunday. We've got the Coca Cola Caravan coming
with Santa. And I hear the Polar Bear may it
be here? The costume Polar Bear not a real one,
so this one's pedible and nice. So anyway, so it's
(03:10):
a great holiday experience to the great Birmingham tradition. We're
delighted to have it and bring it again and thank
you for having us out here.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
