Speaker 1 (00:00):
Just talking about what's happening in New York City with
a mayor oal race there and what a disaster that's
going to be if this Mandani guy wins here, and
you see what's been going on in these other cities
around our country. In Chicago once again at the front
and lines, here's the Border Patrol chief there. Greg Bovino
is going to be testifying in federal court over the
use of tear gas there. Jeff Monasso, our Fox correspondent,
(00:21):
has been on this one. What's going on, Jeff, good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Well, he's going to be in federal court for the
foreseeable future every single day. He was in court yesterday,
Greg leaving Border Patrol chief who he's overseen Operation Midway Blitz,
and US District Judge Sarah Ellis. She's an Obama appointee.
She's the one that put that temporary restraining order out
on the use of disfurstment tactics like tear gas and
(00:47):
pepper bullets outside Broadview, the Ice detention facility. So she's
she calls him in court yesterday and tells him that
she wants to meet with him every single day in
person outside or as he left his vehicle to try
and get in. He was surrounded by a mob and
things are pretty tense. He's going to have to do
(01:08):
that on a daily basis, to report to her, to
let her know what, what what you guys are up to? What,
what did you do today? Who is involved? What diespersmon tactics?
Did you use? Why other videos? Who was wearing video
body body camera? So, what's the name of the agents?
Who are the people that that that you arrested? Uh?
And and for what reason? And so he's gonna have
(01:30):
to He's gonna have to answer to her for the
foreseeable future as legal action over ICE action plays out
in in in court here, she she did say that
she she wasn't going to fully ban fear gas yesterday.
She says, you don't want to tie agent's hands because
(01:51):
you know, you know, while while people have have while
she produced videos that that have been given to her
that that that appears to show, uh you know, agents
throwing tear gas and interesting people there there was also
uh you know, video of protesters maybe perhaps emboldened by
the mayor, by by the governor, getting violent with with
(02:15):
with with comps with ICE agents and and so look,
this is just as much of a pr battle as
it is a battle over the legality of what ICE
is doing here. And and Beveno has said, uh, as
well as Tom Holman, the border boarder. Uh, the borders
are that they're going to continue doing what they're doing
(02:37):
and that they've got the law to that that is
backing them up.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Yeah, the one hundred percent here at some point, you know,
the pushback from these liberal cities, the mayors, the governors,
and now the courts. Uh, this this has to be
cleared up. The President has said, you know, we're going
to clean it up here in America. Uh. And if
the Border Patrol and ICE agents are coming into major
cities to do that very task, and they've been given
(03:05):
permission by this administration and those above this federal judge here,
at what point does somebody say you need to stand down?
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Judge?
Speaker 1 (03:15):
I mean, is this Supreme Court stuff? Ultimately?
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Probably Yeah. I'm not a lawyer, but yeah, I would
say that it might have to be. Yeah, something has
to be brought up Supreme Court.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
If ICE agents are in jeopardy, you know, they've got
to have the protection from local people in law enforcement. Okay,
if you're going to get in the agents, the federal
agents that are doing their job, and you're going to
get in their face and make it dangerous for them,
and you're part of local law enforcement. That's a problem,
a major problem here. So yeah, I see this going
(03:50):
further up the ladder and somebody finally making a decision
to look, they're doing their job, you cooperate with them
or stay the heck out of the way. It's just
awful the way, I say, have a target on their
back doing their job here in this country. Well, when
did we become so enamored with you fighting for the
criminals versus the victims in our country. It's just outrageous
(04:11):
where we are and they continue to double down on
this as well.
