Speaker 1 (00:00):
And what a night it was last night at the
University of Alabama's President Trump spoke to the seniors graduating
and the parents and the guests that were there. Brilin Hollihan,
our buddy in Tuscalosso, was a senior in high school
there who has been a very adamant supporter of Donald
Trump's and certainly a very well spoken young man. Brilin,
(00:21):
welcome in, Thanks for being with me.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
J T. Good morning to you, Happy Friday. It was
an honor to meet the legendary JT in person last night.
Who cares about meeting the president?
Speaker 1 (00:30):
IJT, Well, I'll tell you what it was. It was
really nice to see you last night. And I had
the opportunities shake your parents hand as well. And I
gotta tell you, man, you just bring it. And I
was talking to you with some other folks at the
table that we were kind of sitting at and enjoying
the festivities at the reception, and everybody that met you
last night, anytime you left us and moved on to
(00:52):
somebody else to say hi to, they'd look at me
and go, that kid is unbelievable. I mean, you have
done such a great job on what you do as
a young gen zer in politics and supporting the president
and also being able to articulate so well that I
got to give you a high five Brown, and I
appreciate you sharing your thoughts on last night as well,
(01:14):
you had an opportunity to speak with the President. The
White House actually called you and said, you know, we'd
love for you to spend some time with the president.
So how did that go? What was your discussion?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Like? It was the honor of a lifetime JT. That's
the best way to describe it. Definitely, all glory to
God for the opportunity. I told you last night. It
was one of those circumstances you didn't necessarily think what happened.
I was shopping in a CVS Thursday afternoon and unknown
number from DC called and I just happened to pick
up on the off chance that it happened to be
somebody important, and it was. It was the White House,
(01:44):
and they called to just ask if I was still
living in Tuscolus, if i'd been tusclusa Friday night, and
if I won an opportunity to meet with the president.
Of course I accepted very happily, and it was a
really incredible conversation. The first thing he said when I
walked into the room and behind the tent was you
killed it. This morning he saw my interview with Maria
Bartiromo Yestrada on Fox, and he goes, you killed it
(02:05):
with Maria. This guy killed it. And he turned to
Caroline and goes, this is the guy. This guy killed it.
And I was like, oh, well, thank you for your president.
He goes, do you ever get nervous? And I was like, oh, sometimes, sir,
I'm definitely a little nervous right now. And he goes, oh, no,
you killed it. You killed it, will be good. And
then we started talking about the youth vote and obviously,
you know how we make sure that gen Z voting
for him in twenty four is on anomaly that he
keeps gen Z supporting twenty twenty six and twenty twenty eight.
(02:27):
And what I told him, I said, you have a
secret weapon. He said, oh, what's that. I said, Well,
your strate used to keep Genz's vote is this new
novel concept in politics. It's called actually doing what you
campaigned on and keeping your promise to voters. And he
was like, oh, that's exactly what we're doing. So we
had a good time. He did ask me before I
walked out. He said, how many people you think are
out there? I said, it holds fifteen thousand, and I
(02:48):
didn't see an open seat. And then he said, do
you think they're playing some good music? And I said,
I've been down here in this basement waiting on you.
But I did hear the YMCA earlier. He goes, oh,
you know that's my favorite song.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Well, he did dance for the crowd on his way out,
and I got to tell you, I think he probably
spoke close to an hour and a half hour and
twenty minutes, and I really rang true with the with
the you know, graduating seniors there and the parents that
were there, and there were some seniors sitting behind him
as well, and I mean just smiles and applause on.
(03:20):
I didn't hear one person doing not one protest in
this whole mess. You know, all those other MESSI protesters
were far away from Coleman Coliseum last night. So I
thought the event came off very well, and I wanted
to get your thoughts on you know, young people, your age,
seniors in high school and college students as you're getting
ready to go into college this next fall. The reaction
(03:43):
from young people these days in the second term relative
to the first term, it seems to be night and day,
not only with young people, but also you know, African
American and community Hispanics as well. People realized the last
four years were so disastrous, But what are you hearing
from kids your age?
Speaker 2 (04:00):
What I saw last night and when I heard from
my peers walking out of the event, was hope. For
the first time of four years.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
We have hope.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
We have hope that when we wake up in the morning,
the air is a little bit easier to breathe because
we know that we don't have a senile president that
goes to about at four pm. We have a president
that's waking up at four am to work for the
American people. And JT, I think the best way to
put it, you have a huge history, nerd. There's that
famous Reagan quote and it's are you better off any war?
Four years ago? But today all we have to do
is Ashton Z, are you better off Thanny War one
hundred days ago? And I think the answer for everybody
(04:28):
is a resounding yes. I mean President Trump performed CPR
on the American Dream JT. My generation once again, get
filled up our gas tank. We can buy a home,
we can start a family, we can walk freely on
the streets out fear of being murdered by one of
these MS thirteen gang members. That's quite a lot of
change in just one hundred short days. And as the
President said last night, everybody's talking about my first one
hundred days, but they don't know what's next. They don't
(04:49):
understand that I have three and a half years left.
We're nowhere near finished. And I think it's amazing to
see this hope, this excitement. I've never seen that many
young people excited loudly cheering like it's the fourth down
at the football game. For the president of the United States.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Well, I think that there's a possibility that you might
have to pause on college, as I would not be
surprised if the Trump administration offered you a position with
him in Washington, because you do such a great job, Roll,
and I really appreciate your insight and coming on with
us this morning. And it was great to see you
last night and meet your parents as well too. So
thank you, thank you, buddy, have a great weekend.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Thank you. You enjoyed as well
