Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, folks, I'm Congressman Barrymore.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
And now after a lot of prayer and conversations like
this one, I decided to run for the United States Center.
I'll keep standing with President Trump to secure the border,
to stop the rectless spending, defend our farmers, and fight
back against the Washington swamp has forgotten who they work for.
I'm not going to change and I'm not back in.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Then, and Congressman Barrymore joins us. Now, good morning, sir, Hey,
good morning, JT.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
How are you.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
I'm great. So today's the day the big announcement comes.
And I'm sure after long discussions with family and some
folks close to you and prayer, that you said, all right,
this is what I want to do. So talk to
me about that process that brought you to today's decision.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
Yeah, you know, it really has been quiet a process.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Even ten years ago this month endorsing Donald Trump to
be the first in.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
The nation to do that. I had no idea at
the time, JT, that we'd be led down this path,
and of.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Course, serving in Congress and just seeing the weaponization of
the federal government against American citizens and President Trump when
this opportunity availed itself to me. We had to pray
about it, you know, but we it's our assignment. We
feel like recall, so I'm only nineteen one oh five,
says our word as a lamp into our feet, and
so we're just stepping in that next process in faith
(01:15):
and going to serve as the people need us and
certainly have the presidents back through this process.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
I don't think any of us knew how broken the government.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Was, yeah, and how it would come after President Trump.
I mean, it's been amazing to watch how really corrupt
the system is, and so he needs people he can trust,
and so I've been with him since day one and
will continue to fight to help him push this.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
America First agenda for the American people.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Well, you know, every time I talk to Senator Turberville,
and you know, I'll be on the phone with him
before we go on the INTERSA. So how's it going,
Because JT, this is a dang circus. I here, it's
a battle every day. You wouldn't believe the stuff that
I've got to go through. And as a congressman, I'm
sure you've seen it as well. So as our next senator,
if you become our next US senator from Alabama. What
(02:04):
are the areas that you would be focusing on and
what do you see as far as what you can
do as a centat So that kind of takes it
to a different level than being a congressman.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Well, you look at Coach Tubergile's record, those are big
shoes to feel. He's extremely conservative. And my job, I
tell everybody is to protect your liberty, and his and
I scores are topping the country on protecting Americans liberty,
and so I think for me, it's just to continue
to allow the people to have freedom of choice, freedom
to wear that send their kids to school, whether or
(02:32):
not they get a vaccine, you know, and certainly give
liberty back to the American people. So I see that
as my number one priority, and allowing people to worship
the way they want to, to do the things that
they feel that they can do for their families, rather
than having government constantly riding on their backs or attacking
them for speaking out against things they don't agree with.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
You know, when you look at what's happening now around
the country and Donald Trump's latest move with Washington, DC,
trying to fight the crime that's been going on there
and moving in literally with federal troops in federal law enforcement.
Your thoughts on that as you look at the state
of Alabama, would that be something that you would consider
doing in Birmingham, Alabama, where we just had another shooting
(03:12):
and killing overnight here and the police force seems to
be a little loose on this. The judges seem to
be a little liberal on letting people out in probation,
maybe too early, and you know, the prosecutors say, well,
you know we're going to reduce this to a misdemeanor,
and I know we could put them away, but let's
not push it. Would you intervene and find a way
to get that type of thing done, maybe differently or
(03:33):
similar that the President's doing in DC and cities that
are really struggling with that crime issue in Alabama, Yeah,
I think you.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Have to look at how do we citizens and what
does that look like?
Speaker 4 (03:43):
And many times it.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Starts with local elected officials tying the police officer's hands
and put them in a position where they cannot defend themselves.
If that officer doesn't pull his gun ends up getting killed,
and if he does, he gets sued by everybody and
call it all kinds of names. And so it's on
point we have to step in. I'm reminded serving on
Judiciary Committee of how the Left was the party of
(04:05):
defund the police and disarm America. So they take your
guns and then tell you to call the police, and
then they defund the police and they.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Make you victims.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
The very people who support them become the victims of
the system because they think they know better for us
than we do. And you know, in many ways, we
have to as leaders in this country, protect the people,
however that looks. And I think what President Trump's doing in.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
DC is absolutely needed.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
And it's one of the most dangerous cities in America
per capita right now.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
I've had my kids live there for a period of time.
I live there.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
You can't go anywhere at night without somebody with you,
and very often doesn't mean you're not going to get
hit in a drive by our Cards Act, and so
we have to help where we can, and I think
one of the first things we can do is encourage
local elected officials to untie law enforcement hands, encourage the
judiciary to prosecute criminals, don't just slap them on the wrist,
because we're putting Americans in danger when we do that.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
Amen.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Well, Congressman, congratulations on your decision. I know was a
long process for you and you're in the race now
to become our next US Senator from Alabama. And wish
you the best in all of this, and I appreciate
you being with me this morning.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
Yes, sir JT. Thank you.
