Speaker 1 (00:00):
And our buddy Dan Snell joined Snout expert on Politics

(00:03):
and Leadership, about what Donald Trump is doing flowing this
whole thing about tax hiking on Americans making more than
two point five million a year. Oh, Dan, I heard
this and I thought, what is this George W. Senior
coming in here again reading my lips. No taxes being
raised here? Oops?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yeah. Yeah. Even Trump mentioned that in his conversation. He
doesn't want that to be But I don't really think
in this case people would call him out on that
because I think the quote every man, the common man,
the workingman, the middle class. They probably aren't going to say, say, oh,
taxing the people that make more than two and a
half million five million as a couple is wrong. So

(00:43):
he doesn't really get hurt. I think too much of this.
But the brew haha is going to take place in
Congress with people saying we can't do that. And you know,
it's just like the rain, just like Mickey said, the
rain's coming today. You know, today Monday, talk about the
rain of news for everybody in our business. We've got
the new drug price Executive Order, we've got the China

(01:06):
trade deal, we've got this taxes thing, and so there's
always something to talk about. In this case, I don't
think President Trump has hurt. I think it's I think
Mike Johnson has has the maneuver through things he should
have probably never said, I'm going to get this done
by Memorial Day because there's going to be a lot
of conversation in the halls of the Capitol.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Well, apparently this was a little side discussion behind the
scenes with the president, Mike Johnson, our speaker, and now
all of a sudden, people are coming to Mike Johnson going,
what's going on? Now? We have easier access to you
than the president, So what are you doing secretly back there?
And now he's apparently taking a little bit heat on this.

(01:47):
But I got to be honest with you, Dan, Look,
I get it people making that kind of money and
certainly afford it. I'm not saying that means that they
should have to be taxed a little bit more. They're
going from thirty seven percent to thirty nine percent tax.
That's outrageous the amount of tax that we pay in
this country.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, it is that that level of tax, it really is,
and it's just creeped up over the years, and I've
slowly done it. So I think we're in the right
direction with the spending cuts that's taking place. There's a
lot of good things happening, So we need to we
need to focus on the good. You know, the wins candidate.
The book I wrote, it's always about looking for the
good and all things. And so I think that we're
in the right direction. And with every day, it's an

(02:27):
exciting day with President Trump because the news cycle isn't
three every three or four days, it's every three or
four hours. So we have a lot to talk about.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Dan in a nutshell, please tell me why we don't
get rid of income tax and go to a fair
tax or a flat tax, or whichever one it is,
where everybody pays tax on something in goods and services.
You buy something a little, that money goes to tax.
You know what this would do increase the amount of
money the government has to play ball with, and it
would decrease the amount of money that we all have

(02:57):
to pay in taxes because everybody would participate, unlike the
system that happens. Now, why doesn't somebody in Congress say
let's get this moving.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
There we go JT for Congress. Let's get you in
there and you know, Mike Huckabee back when he ran
for president, he really was a big proponent of that,
and I think that's just very true because it's the
fairest way to be able to tax Americans. You know,
people are afraid to take a risk to put that
out there, but I wish they would. We need to

(03:26):
start a movement here, all right, jat movement.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
So you're on board with it. Dan, Look, you know
how to weave through Congress much better than I. So, uh,
let's get something going here.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
We'll talk later, okay, all right, they went, my friends.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
That's it. Hey, buddy, thank you so much. I appreciate you.
And Dan Snow always good to hear from him.
