Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, as we know, Dan Bongino had a very successful
podcast before he joined Cash Brittel at the FBI. But
he does have secret service background and he made you know,
it made sense for him and to jump on there
for Cash thought he was a great guy. And I
love Dan Bongino, thinks he does a great job with
his podcast, and I respect what he did is you
know somebody involved in you know, secret service and work

(00:22):
and that. So why did he go and then leave
so quickly? Evan Brown joins us now? And what I
love about Evan our Fox correspondent in Miami, Evan seems
to always be behind the scenes and digs deep to
get the facts on what's going on when a lot
of us aren't even aware of it. I don't know
how you do it, Evan, but you're great at it.
So what's the real scoop on why he left?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Well, you're very kind. I don't think there's much of
a scoop here, to be honest with you. Come on,
I was building you up.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
I was looking for a smoking guy.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I appreciate that. I appreciate that. But you know, he's
been very forthcoming and saying he wants to get back
to his family. You know, he's been living in d
C to do this job. As family I think is
back in Florida, and that takes a toll on anyone
if you think about it. And so I think he's
just kind of done. You know, he got some very
nice praise from the President, from FBI Director Cash Ptel.

(01:13):
I think there's an understanding that people, you know, want
to go home to their families. I think that that's
you know, not not anything that's really out there. These
types of jobs are very difficult. They're not nine to fives.
You don't necessarily get a lot of vacation time. And
I'm certain that compared to his media career, he probably
made better money doing his his program than he is
making or whatever he's making it the FBI is deputy director,

(01:36):
So that's you know, another thing to consider. You know,
his appointment to the FBI as deputy director came with
a lot of controversy. There are a lot of people who,
especially if they were political, let's say, enemies of President Trump,
just felt that this was cronyism, that that Bongino was
not someone who was qualified for this type of work.

(01:56):
He did have a career in law enforcement, before his
media care he was in the Secret Service, he was
in the Presidential Detail. I don't know how much of
an investigator he actually was, but obviously President Trump felt
that he would be good for that role. And I
think even that came with controversy. There were a lot
of people in the shall we call it the MAGA

(02:18):
world that are less than thrilled with the Department of
Justice and the FBI because they I think a lot
of people felt that there would be some kind of
instant ongoing, a superfluous treasure trove of evidence against Democrats
having to do with the Epstein Island issues, and that
wasn't as fortuitous as people probably had hoped. And I

(02:39):
think there's a lot of iyre being directed at the
top echelon of the FBI and the DOJ over that
there are a lot of things that Dan Bongino probably
won't be able to ever talk about as they're classified.
He's still bound by those laws even though he's not
with the agency anymore, and so there will be people
who will just never really be satisfied with anything he

(02:59):
has to say. And he wants to go sure back
to his media career, he said in a posting yesterday
that he would have some announcement soon, and I guess
we all have to wait and find out what that is.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Well, I wish him luck. I think he does a
great job, and you know, he did his time. There
is a quicker departure than I thought it might be,
But you're right. People that come in to these types
of positions are brought in a lot of times because
of their connections to who has the opportunity to hire them.
And sometimes it's like, well, okay, this is a little
bit more than I bargained for, so I appreciate you,
but I got to go back, so we'll leave it

(03:29):
at that.
