Speaker 1 (00:00):
President Trump, speaking at the White House yesterday, says that
he thinks we're pretty close to making a deal in
the Middle East.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
We are very close to making a deal on the
Middle East that will bring peace to the Middle East.
After all of these years of millions and millions, tens
of millions of people being killed. There's a chance to
bring peace to the Middle East. And we're going to
do everything possible to make sure everybody adheres to the
deal and join us.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Now, is doctor bo Cabala, expert in political science, also
a visiting professor at Tarlington University, talk a little bit
more about this. Welcome in, sir, glad to have you
with me.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Hey, thank you so much for having me. Jase, it's
going to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
So your thoughts on these peace talks here, I mean
twenty one points to start with, twenty points now that
they're going through with Hamas having to agree to I
got to tell you the fact that the DNA of
terrorism is what it is. I don't see them, you know,
they may agree for a second, but they'll pop back
up like whack a mole at some point. Your thoughts

(00:58):
on this coming really.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
To frue, you know, And I'm with you, except for
you know, Donald Trump is involved, and Steve Witkoff is involved,
and so I would say I'm cautiously optimistic. Yes, absolutely,
there's twenty points. At some point, hamas extremist organization would
have to commit to not have any share in the

(01:20):
governance of Gaza. They seem reluctant to do that at
the moment. But what's impressive to me about this is
President Trump seems to have pushed us to an agreement
on very general principles hostages to be released in the
coming days. He seems to have been able to convince
Prime Minister net and Yahoo, you've got the UN Secretary

(01:42):
General Antonio Uteris on board. And then I also think
the fact that Steve Witcoff is involved. I've got a
little story about him. I don't want to talk too long,
but I just I hear you in terms of the skepticism.
But given some of the actors involved here in President
Trump's leadership, I'm cautiously optimistic. No, I'm with you there.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
I do think the President surprises all of us all
the time his negotiating skills and you know what used
to be we'll just talk through it with our previous presidents,
we'll see what we can work out. And it was
just like done, blah blah. Trump's a getter done. He's
a getter done type of president.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
You know, that's right, that's right. And you know the
story about Wiccuff, right, it was a previous negotiation. And
so this is the special Envoy to the Middle East.
And what's his background? I mean, from what I know,
he's not a State Department guy. He's in real estate.
He's from New Jersey, and he's communicating with Yahoo's office

(02:40):
and requesting a connection and he's told, well, it's the
Sabbath and Prime Minister can't talk to you right now.
And apparently I don't know if what I've heard and
read is one hundred steps back to it. But the
response from wocop was something along the lines of well blank,
and there was there were some choice words through and
in the President means to talk to you right now.

(03:02):
And so it's unconventional, it's direct, and I just I
think we're ringing cautious optimism.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Well, you know, when you look at what one of
the big ones is, you know, release the hostages one
hundred percent alive or dead. We want the hostages. I
think I think that will happen. Uh, leave Gaza one
hundred percent, put your arms down and go to Cutter.
What are your thoughts on that? And as we talk
about Cutter and other nations in the region, where the

(03:32):
heck have they been? I know, an O, there's you know,
some hosting negotiations in different areas in the Middle East.
But where do I stand, you know, philosophically about the
entire terrorist movement?

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Absolutely well, I think the fact that Cutter is involved
is very encouraging. Cutter, of course, typically considered a more
moderate Muslim country, broadly supportive of the of the Abraham Cords.
So I think the fact that Amir of Cutter is

(04:05):
facilitating some of these conversations, I mean, again my thought,
give Trump credit in a strange way that maybe only
he could pull off. He seems to have spoken to
Jewish Americans. He was able to get the support of
the first Muslim mayor of a Michigan city. I don't
know how he does it, but he's clearly building a

(04:27):
consensus here. And so yes, this is you know, Cutters involved.
The negotiations are happening in Egypt. You've got the UN
expressing cautious optimism. I just I'm very impressed, encouraged, and
I think it might happen.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
No, I'm with you. If anybody can get it done,
Donald Trump can get it done. He's proved that time
and time again.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
You know.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
I just the head of the snake is still I ran.
And that's a whole nother discussion. We'll do it again
some other time. But doctor Bokebala, thank you so much, budd.
I appreciate your insight.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Jac my pleasure. Look forward to talking with you again.
