Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jeff, good morning, welcome in. Thanks for being here, our
Fox correspondent. What the DOJ is doing now suing Minneapolis
Public Schools are DEI policies alleging discrimination. I thought THEI
went away. What is going on here?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Not in Minnesota, my friend. The Department of Justice, in
its lawsuit against Minneapolis Public Schools, is alleging the district
and its teachers union are violating the federal Civil Rights
Acts with controversial policies that the district implemented a couple
of years back in its new contract that in part
shielded only teachers of color from layoffs over white teachers

(00:36):
and requires the district to rehire teachers of color first,
ignoring seniority rules. According to the lawsuit, those who fall
under the underrepresented category are exempt from seniority order and layoffs.
And there was a third party that's contracted by the
district in its collective bargaining agreement called black Men teach

(00:58):
fellows also given priority over white district teachers. For the complaint,
and you know, critics say the policy is racist on
its face, supporters saying the policy increases diversity. Minnesota's liberal
majority Supreme Court also dismissed a previous lawsuit over the policy,

(01:18):
finding the lack of standing, and so now turny General
Pam Bonding a statement she's filing the suits in a
statement saying that discrimination is unacceptable in all forms, especially
when it comes to hiring decisions, that schools across the
country must be a bastion of merit and equal opportunity,

(01:39):
not dei. She says that essentially the complaint, he's asking
the court to declare MPs practices as discriminatory, to enter
a permanent injunction. And for Minneapolis Public Schools. Not commenting
on pending.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Litigation, Yeah, of course, Minneapolis, Minnesota, the whole bunch of
them up there, still stuck in the woke world. It
is not existent for the most part in the rest
of this country. Here in Minnesota. Hey, listen up, let's
take you back to the seventies, remember busting How well
that went? You know, it turns out, actually the people
that live in the city kind of like going to
schools in their own neighborhood. Same with the suburbs. But no,

(02:17):
the whole let's bust them out to the suburbs, or
let's bust kids into the city just to balance everything
out and they'll make things better. It backfired like crazy,
so uh neh, forget about it. Jeff, thank you for
the update. I appreciate you. When are they going to
get it? I mean, they are just toned deaf as
to what American people want. How about this, Let's hire

(02:37):
the qualified people first, no matter what color they are,
no matter what their background is. Can they do the job? Really? Well,
that's how you get a job here. Not Okay, well
forget that. That's not first priority for us, might not
even be third priority, maybe fourth. But we got a
number of boxes to check before that. Yeah, that whole
thing doesn't work.
