Speaker 1 (00:00):
John mounts our program directoring with me this morning is
McKenzie is a little under the weather. I hope she
gets feeling better. We'll be back in tomorrow. But John,
once again, another awful shooting taking place here in the
United States and mental illness right at the heart of
all of this.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
And that seems to be the case that they are
not willing to come out and say it right off
the bat. But what five ten minutes into it, we
saw exactly what it was. And it's another situation where
somebody with gender dysphoria decided to act on crazy thoughts
they had and they did crazy well.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Robert changed his name to Robin five years ago. I
guess his mother is papers for that. He was a
miner at the.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Time, because if he's I'm doing the math here right,
If he's twenty three now and it was five years ago,
it could have been eight. He could have just turned eighteen.
But yeah, he was a teenager. Bottom line is his
mother's complicit.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Too, right. And he had a manifesto he hated apparently,
you know, Catholics or maybe just God in general. Hey,
Trump hated Trump hated Jews, and it was not going
to have it anymore, and apparently he goes in and
shoots the school up or at church rather as these
kids were in their praying. Two were dead, seventeen wounded,
(01:06):
and it was just a horrific situation. And then he
kills himself. You know, I don't understand. Sometimes I get
the anger, and they're looking at it as a hate
crime as well. And he hates Trump, and obviously he
hates God. He doesn't like anything that you know, has
to do with Jewish people. His manifesto was pretty clear
about everything. He was transitioning from male to female, changed
(01:27):
his name. I get there was some hate here, man.
I think that, you know, domestic terrorism charges that they
would have brought against this guy. They're looking into it
as an event like that is warranted hate crime. Yeah,
clearly he hated a lot of things in his world,
But how does that immediately just transition to I want
(01:48):
to go kill everybody that I can get my hands on,
you know, and especially innocent children. Clearly he knew this
was a Catholic school and there were kids in there,
you know, I think the two kids were at seven
and ten years old. Seventeen others injured. I don't I'm
(02:08):
not a psychiatrist. I don't understand how the brain goes
from you know, I'm upset with things in life. I'm
gonna go get a gun and fix it. John, I
mean I call you doctor Mounts kind of jokingly. But
you know, your your uncle's big doctor in Pittsburgh at UPMC.
Your your dad's a big doctor here at UAB. I mean,
(02:29):
you've we've had these discussions how many times now since
we you and I have worked together where we're looking
at this going crazy crazed mind mental illness.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Once again, there's clearly pathology here at JT. You look at,
for example, the way he labeled each one of the
clips he used in his gun, how he said four
of the children. On one's it said you know, ha
ha ha. On another one he was he was insane.
Now the question is does echo hand in hand with
other things going on in his life? And you know
what I'm referring.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
To, well, sure, the transitioning a lot of people think
that gender dysphoria is a form of mental illness, and
for for years and years, Zo was you know, labeled
that in medical journals. But you know, with the woke
wave that swept you all, we can't do that anymore.
It's hate speech. Well, it's not about hating people that
go through mental illness. Well, it's about recognizing it and
(03:23):
cautioning against it. Because sometimes mental illness, like we see
with homeless people sometimes stabbing people in DC they get
it gets violent.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Well, here's my question, is it chicken or the egg here?
In other words, did the mental illness cause him to
both go through this whole situation with the transitioning and
also did it cause him to want to kill the kids?
Or was he transitioning? Was he on some sort of
treatment and that treatment might have led him to do
things that a rational person wouldn't otherwise do.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yeah, I don't know what kind of you know, hormones
or you know, rock blockers, lockers or whatever medicine. I
don't know if he was involved that deep into the
transansitioning out on where he was and I knew he
changed his name, and I knew he started wanting to
appear as a woman. But I think, yeah, there was
something off that got him to the decision to I
(04:12):
don't feel like I'm a guy. I think I was
born to be a woman. Well, now you're going into
where God's Creation comes into play here and what happens
when you bring in God to this discussion. A lot
of times the left and the communities they don't God
has nothing to do with this.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
He went to a church. How does God have nothing
to do with this?
Speaker 1 (04:32):
God has everything to do with this. And if people
would just center back to the relationship with our Creator
on what that's all about. Because this world is a
big hot mess and a failure at every turn for
all of us. So if you can't count on anybody,
even the best of those with intention in this country
and in your life, where do you turn? Where is
(04:54):
your rock? Where's your peace and security? It's in God
and Jesus Christ as a Christian. So look, we're in
a fallen world period. So it comes down to that.
It is black and white. You are either a believer
of that or you're not. So when you're not, you're
(05:14):
swimming in rough waters and dark seas and waves are
twenty five feet above your head. You need to get
on that rock that the waves won't hurt. And yeah,
there were problems here, and we're going to talk more
about red flags, but you know, look, I know people
are going to easy on the red flag shady easy now.
I don't think the red flags should be raised by
(05:35):
the government or the courts. I think red flags ought
to be raised by family members.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
You mean, like the one who applied for his name
to be changed.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
We'll talk more about it later
