Speaker 1 (00:00):
President Trump, I would say, all and all, had a
pretty good trip to the Pacific grim here he is
talking about the fantastic relationship with the President of China.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
And we will be having some discussions. I think we've
already agreed to a lot of things and we'll agree
to some more right now. But President she is a
great leader of a great country, and I think we're
going to have a fantastic relationship for a long period
of time.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Join us now. John Decker, our White House correspondent on
top of all of this has been following since he left,
and now he's on his way home. Not John, but
the President. John, welcome in. So all in all, pretty
nice round of talks with a lot of people there
this week.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Yeah, it was a successful trip. The President starting off
his three leg trip in Malaysia. There, the President announced
trade deals or frameworks for trade deals with four different
Southeast Asian countries, including Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The
President then next traveling to Japan. Business leaders there pledged

(01:03):
five hundred billion dollars in new investments into the United States,
including Toyota, announcing a ten billion dollar pledge to build
new manufacturing plans auto manufacturing plants in the United States,
and then the President concluding his trip with his one
on one meeting with President she The President traveling back

(01:24):
now as we speak on Air Force one, but speaking
to reporters for about fifteen minutes on Air Force one,
telling reporters that a deal was reached in which China
immediately will begin the purchase of large volumes of American agriculture,
including American soybean. So that's good news for our farmers
in the Midwest. JT. And the President also announced a

(01:46):
deal concerning fentanyl, and for that reason, the President lowered
the teriff freight that is paid on goods coming into
the United States from China. It's now down to forty
seven percent.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Yeah, question for you, John. And in the past, when
you see negotiations or conversations with the president, whether it's
President Trump, Democrat, President whoever, when they talk to the
leaders at this level China and they go in and
cut deals, they usually stick. Right. It's not like they're talking,
you know, the presidents talking to Putin and Zelenski and

(02:22):
net Yahoo and Hamas where they have a deal cut
at the table, they think and then they leave and
next thing you know, it's off the table and everybody's
gone squirrellly, and it's back to where it was. These
deals made with China and these types of negotiations on
the economic level, they don't really go all over the
place after everybody leaves the table, do they.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Well, they sometimes do. You know. Keep in mind, you know,
there were certain things agreed upon when the President met
a few weeks ago with the Canadian Prime minister, and
there has still been no deal reached with Canada. And
also keep in mind, the President wants to reopen the
US MCA trading agreement. He feels that there are elements
of that that are unfair to the United States. So

(03:05):
the President made a point on the flight back JT
of saying all of the agreements that the President reached
with President She are agreements that will cover one full year,
and then they will go back to the negotiating table
and see what they'll negotiate it in a year's time.
The President also said he would travel to China in
April of next year. The President she will travel to

(03:29):
the US also in twenty twenty six. So that was
some news that was made yesterday as well.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yeah, I'm very good trip, no doubt about it. John Decker,
don't forget. You can check out John Decker on the
iHeartRadio app. Yeah, it's the White House Briefing Room with
John Decker right there. Once again. Daily it is updated
