Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yesterday in the Rose Garden at the White House, President
Trump awarded Charlie Kirk the Medal of Freedom and gave
it to his wife. Erica, presented it to her and
President Trump calling Charlie a martyr.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
As I said on the day that he was assassinated,
Charlie Kirk was a martyr for truth and for freedom.
And from Socrates to think meant to Saint Peter, from
Abraham Lincoln to Martin Luther King, those who change history
the most, and he really did have always risked their
lives for causes they were put on earth to defend.
(00:34):
He was put on earth to do exactly what he
was doing. He didn't want to waste time. He would
have been a top student at any college in the country.
I know, to college as well. He was smarter than
the guys. He was so smart.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Yeah, he's certainly on a mission and his mission continues.
Joining us now, our White House correspondent, John, Thank you, sir,
John Decker, Good morning, sir.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Welcome in Hey, thanks a lot. Jat, good to be
with you today. A little bit noisy. Heading into the
Treasury Department this morning, JT for a press conference that
will be given by the Treasury Secretary got Bessin as
well as the US Trade Representative. So that's what's happening
this morning for me, and then I'll over head over
to the White House. Big item on the agenda for
the President today at three PM meeting that he's having
(01:17):
with the FBI Director Cash Betel, So we'll see what
comes out of that meeting. That meeting will be open
to the press, so we'll have some opportunities to ask
the President some questions.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
All right, I wanted to get your thoughts yesterday on
the ceremony it took place regarding Charlie Kirk in the
middle of Freedom. I watched parts of it and it
was beautiful. I thought, just amazing. I agree, certainly well deserved,
I agree.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
And the weather cooperated. You know, it looked like it
was going to be raining yesterday afternoon, the event was
going to be indoors, and then the clouds parted and
it was a beautiful sunny day. I think it was
a great tribute to Charlie Kirk. And I'm sure you
know this already. It happened at the White House and
on Charlie Kirk's birthday, and how fitting is that?
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Incredible? Just incredible. Now back to Cash Mittel today anticipation
on where this is going.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Well, I think it has a lot to do with
the President potentially looking at invoking the Insurrection Act to
talking about the violence that we see happening in Chicago
in particular. The President often mentions the situation in Portland,
Oregon as well. I think that that is likely going
to be the focus of the President and Cash Hotel's
(02:27):
remarks a little bit later this afternoon.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Do you think there'll be any discussion about the fact
that Pete Haig Seth blew up another drug boat and
the President obviously where that and gave him discretion to
do that.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
And also President May, Yeah, the President may talk about that.
That's not you know, in any way under Cash Betael's umbrella.
You know, he's focused on domestic issues. But yeah, the
President certainly maybe asked questions about that and talk about
warnings did he have for those narco terrorists trying to
bring illegal drugs into the country, you know.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
And it also seems now that the cartels are issuing
bounties for hits on ice and customs and border patrol agents.
They don't like people messing with what their business is
all about here. But this is another hot issue for
I think the President obviously Pete Haigseth to deal with.
So I'm just curious as to you know, I know
(03:20):
where their position is. But now with this new warning
coming from the cartels, the cartels have basically offered two
thousand dollars for gathering some intelligence and boxing agents and
throwing out money out there that can help them come
after these agents.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Well, I haven't seen that, JT. I take your word
for it, but you know, if that is indeed the case,
you know that that gives you a sense about the
dangerous job those individuals have protecting and securing our country
every day.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Well, John, yeah, I appreciate you this morning. Thanks for
your input and the update on what's happening in DC,
and let us know more on the meeting. Today's you're
heading into the Treasury Department. Well chat tomorrow. Thank you, John,
Thank you,
