Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, the Epstein files have officially been released, okay yost.
Attorney General Pam Bondi says, all the Epstein victims are
encouraged to come forward.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Now thirty three thousand, over thirty three thousand Epstein documents
to the Hill, and we'll continue to follow the law
and to have maximum transparency. Also, we will always encourage
all victims to come forward.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
I join us not to talk a little bit more
about this, John Deck our White House correspondence. So it
was a big day yesterday, John, and I think a
lot of people are asking, now what next?

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Yeah, what next? Well, the clock has started ticking JT.
As prescribed in this legislation that the presidents signed last night,
thirty days that's how much time the Department of Justice
has to release all of those files. And what is
also prescribed in the legislative language is that any victims'

(00:53):
names should be redacted as it relates to those documents
that the DOJ has in its possession.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
You know, interesting too is obviously there are a lot
of people that were involved with visiting the island, and
you know who knows doing what, but a lot of
famous people, I mean from Donald Trump to Hillary and Clinton,
Bill Clinton, to the folks over there at all the
tech companies and celebrities from Hollywood. I mean, do you

(01:22):
believe that there also be at some point to investigations
that lead to indictments because of all of this. Is
this the snowball that could turn into an avalanche or
is this just going to fade into the background and
go away and not much will happen.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Yeah, yeah, that's a great question, JG. You know, the
fact of the matter is is that when you talk
about discovery, this essentially is what this is. So discovery
for a civil matter or discovery for a criminal matter,
it starts out really being a fishing expedition. You don't
know what you're going to find in the files or
the electronic device that you're looking at, and that's the

(01:56):
case here. You do not know for certain what's going
to be contained all of those documents that will be
released by the Department of Justice. And also keep in
mind and BONDI, the Attorney General can still say I'm
not releasing some of this information because of an ongoing
DJ investigation. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Yeah, absolutely so, no doubt about it. There's many more
chapters in this Epstein saga that will continue probably for months,
if not years, down the road. All right, let's talk
about President Trump's plan for the tariff rebate checks. I
guess this is the two grand everybody was going to
get if you qualified for it. Now there's some pushback
on this.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Right, Yeah, pushbacks coming from some very prominent Republicans. JT
the most prominent Republican Senate majority leader, John Soon. He's
not alone. The senior Republican Senator from West Virginia, Shelley
Moore Capito has publicly said she's against this idea. James Langford,
he's the senior Republican senator from Oklahoma. He too is

(02:55):
against this idea. What do they all have in common?
They're deficit hawks. They say, this money that's coming into
the US Treasury, it should be used to pay down
the enormous federal deficit. It should not be used, they say,
for the purposes of sending two thousand dollars tariff freebay
checks to the American public. So that's not good news

(03:16):
for the president. With a very narrow majority that exists
right now in the US Congress.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Well, I got to tell you, the American people, they
would certainly love those two thousand dollars checks. But you know,
as absolutely, you know, as a conservative, I also understand
the concern from the top brass and the Senate that look,
our spending and our debt is out of control in
this country and some of the record high numbers there
you go to you don't have to go to Times
Square and watch the electronic sign continually tick help up

(03:43):
with our national debt. It reminds me of when people
got checks, I guess during COVID or we had stimulus
checks during a.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Very stimulus checks right right.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
And I was talking to the guy that runs the
television section at Costco and he says, we're almost sold
out of TV's. I said, what do you mean, Well,
everybody's getting these stimulus checks. They're not paying bills with it,
they're buying flat screw and they're spending their two grand
on a big screen for their big So you know,
I get the urge to spend that money and give

(04:13):
it back to the American people to go buy TVs
with it. But yeah, that money with the tariffs, that's
government money that's being set up with tech. I mean,
with the you know, the trade deals and things like that.
You know, I'm kind of on board with it, you know,
I get it. A lot of people are, you know,
with a government shutdown, could use the little stimulus right now.
But it does it have to have congressional approval to go.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
For us it does you think about those stimulus checks,
you know, and that happened of course during both Trump
and Biden. Those stimulus checks only happened because Congress passed
that legislation. And so the President could not simply instruct
the Treasury Department to cut checks to be sent out
to the American public. He'd have to go to Congress

(04:58):
to do that.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Is is it going? Is it on track to go
to Congress? Or is this about dead in the water.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Do you think there's a bill but that bill has
languaged in the Senate. That bill is a Josh Holly bill,
but it really hasn't gotten much traction.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Yeah, it doesn't sound like it will either. All right, John,
thank you so much, buddy. I appreciate the up.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Thank you.
