Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining us now. So good to talk with Jonathan Savage,
our Fox correspondent in London.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Jonathan, good morning, Good morning, gitty boy.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
What a momentous last week Donald Trump has had and
got these hostages released, the peace deal was signed yesterday
in Egypt and moving forward to redo Gaza and get
things in order here. So the reaction first from London
on all of this, and then we want to talk
to a little bit more about the peace signing yesterday
in Egypt.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yes, President drum Basking and the adulation there and the
Israeli parliament yesterday. And I think that you know, people
all over the world very happy to see the end
of this war, no doubt here in London too, with
the British Prime Minister of Cure Starmer has long called
for a ceasefire in Gaza. The relies, of course, refused
to agree to a ceasefire until all the hostages were

(00:48):
going to be returned, and that was the deal that
was agreed last week now here. Starmer also very keen
to ensure some sort of British involvement going forward in
Gaza to assist with decommissioning the weapons of hamas should
the ambition of Hamas being demilitarized and disarmed be achieved.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
I got to tell you, it's just incredible to see
how many people have come together globally to support the
president in that region and using his partners and those
relationships that he's developed over the years. With this moving forward,
it's kind of a gray areas to you know, Phase two,
When does it start? President Trump says it's already started.

(01:29):
Hamas though from what I understand and still said, we
don't want to disarm. What are you hearing on that?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yes, President Trump said the negotiations on Phase two had begun,
and in fact, yesterday President Trump was so delayed by
events in Israel three hours delate that it was give
plenty of time for the world leaders who are waiting
for him to get together, start having conversations, start having negotiations,
a little impromptu spontaneous summit meetings in Charmel Shak, Egypt. However, well, yes,

(02:02):
they say that the negotiations have begun. There's not a
lot of flesh on the bones yet, and this sounds
like this is going to be quite challenging, especially when
you get down to certain details such as the future
of a mass such as the scale of Israeli withdrawal
and who is going to govern Gaza. Also worth noting
that because of a Jewish holiday, the Israeli Prime Minister

(02:22):
Benjamin This and Yeahoo did not take part in these discussions.
No one from her Mass was involved in these negotiations either.
And you know many adalysts say you need Israel and
Hamas to be somewhere involved in these talks to make
a meaningful progress.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Well, I really appreciate you for the update this morning.
