Speaker 1 (00:00):
Premier Georgia Maloney called it extraordinary news. What's happening now
in Europe in Paris, France today is a meeting with
a lot of these countries and others trying to work
out a pathway to the future of Gaza based on
President Trump's peace plan. Should that be fully realized. They're
talking about how that can work out and which countries

(00:20):
are going to be involved in helping Gus rebuild itself.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah, this is huge, and there was a lot of
negotiation going on, and after two years, all of the
killing is finally over and the hostages are coming home. So,
you know, praise God for the peace in the Middle
East and hopefully this will be a long lived peace
treaty or peace agreement rather and this won't you know,
ramp up again. Also, you've been following what the Pope

(00:44):
told of the American bishops to speak out against President
Trump's policies on immigration. My opinion on this one, Jonathan, Hey,
mister pope, stay in your lane. Okay, what the heck
happened here with the Pope? I mean, he really doesn't
like the president.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Well, I think the Pope would say this is his lane.
But of course that's not what everyone feels right now.
He was being visited by a collection of American bishops,
and what he told them is that they should firmly
address the way that the Trump administration policies are affecting immigrants.
Leo was given dozens of letters from migrants in the

(01:22):
US describing their fears of being deported, and the Bishop
of El Paso and Mark Sites came out saying that
our Holy Father is personally very concerned about these matters
and wanted American bishops to speak strongly on the issue.
Leo has been more reserved than Pope Francis, who was
a frequent quot critical of the Trump administration, but in

(01:44):
more recent weeks, Leo has been ramping up his criticism.
A few weeks ago, he questioned whether the Trump administration
policies were in line with the Catholic Church's teachings and
obviously some prominent concern to Catholics in the US not
happy with that.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
I guess the Pope's not on board with laws and
you know, making things peaceful in cities and immigration shouldn't
be something that there should be laws about. I mean,
every country around the globe has laws about their immigration policies,
and yeah, what about following the laws. So yeah, I
questioned the Pope on this one
