Speaker 1 (00:00):
Boy, what a crazy weekend. It was violence erupting in
multiplay multiple places over the weekend, and at least ten
people are dead now dozens are injured in shootings. At
least four people were killed and sixteen injured in a
bar shooting at Willie's Bar and Grill in Saint Helena Island,
South Carolina. This happened about one o'clock yesterday morning, so
(00:20):
you know, late night Saturday, right there, just about an
hour north of Savannah, Georgia. The Sheriff's department had no
arrest as last night, but they were investigating this person
of interest. Homecoming celebrations turned deadly in several Mississippi towns
over the weekend. Six people were killed and ten others
injured in Leland, Mississippi, on Friday night on the main
(00:41):
street of the small town to a large crowd gathered
outside the high school homecoming game. There no arrests or
suspects has been announced there another location, a couple of
people were shot and killed at the Heidelberg High School
homecoming Friday night in Jasper County, Mississippi. One of the
two victims was an expectant mother. According to the governor there,
Tad Reeves, person of interest, taken into custody on Saturday,
(01:04):
charged with two counts of capital murder. Shooting also happened
at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson, Mississippi. This happened
Saturday near the tailgating section of the parking lot at
the Jackson State University homecoming game against Alabama State. One
child was injured in the shooting taken to the hospital.
There was no information on the suspect of that situation
as of last night. In the same parking lot near
(01:26):
the site of the shooting, multiple vehicles caught fire geez,
I mean just out of control at these games. Gunshots
also reported heard outside the stadium of South Delta High
School's homecoming game in Rolling Fork, Mississippi. This was Friday night.
One person was found at the scene with two gunshot wounds.
Two suspects arrested there unbelievable. Also, a Vicksburg woman was
(01:49):
killed and two others injured in the shooting on the
campus of Elkhorn State University of Mississippi. This was Saturday
during the school's homecoming there and while the homecoming violence
was pretty wide spread, it wasn't limited just Mississippi. Two
people injured in the shooting in near LSU's campus in
Baden Rouge on Saturday night for their homecoming. I mean,
it's incredibly crazy what's been going on lately in these cities.
(02:13):
And yesterday our vice president was speaking on one of
the Sunday shows, and I believe it was Kristin Welker
NBC's show yesterday morning. As the President and the Weiss
House officials have been kind of having serious talks about
whether or not the President should vote and use the
eighteen oh seven law, which is you know, it would
(02:37):
allow him to deploy military inside the United States for
law enforcement. Invoking this insurrection Act hasn't been done since
nineteen ninety two during the LA riots. Here's the Vice
President answering the question will the president do this?
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Well, the President's looking at all of his options right now.
He hasn't felt he needed to. But we have to remember,
why are we talking about this, Kristen, Because crime has
gotten out of control in our cities. Because our ice agents,
the people who are enforcing our immigration laws, have faced
a one thousand percent increase in violent attacks against them.
We have people right now who are going out there
who are doing the job the President asked them to do.
(03:14):
Who are enforcing our immigration laws. They're being assaulted, they're
being beaten, they're being shot at.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Well, I tell you, the pushback on law enforcement is
just outrageous. I mean, the whole objective is to clamp
down on crime in cities and stop the madness. But
yet these leaders are just pushing back. No, no, no,
we're good here. No, you're not not good at all,
And especially when it comes to enforcing the immigration laws.
(03:42):
ICE has been under tax since day one. On this
former ATF Special Agent Bernard Zapper discussing the deployment of
the National Guard in response to the violence surrounding these
ICE facilities.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
You know, it's a very interesting thing in US history
to have litigation interfere with the executive power of deploying
National Guard to restore civil order. And that's what this is.
It's been deployed before in the La riots, for example,
and other locations. It was deployed in Minneapolis at the
George Floyd riots, and so it's it's unique and the
fact that they are being prohibited at this time from
(04:14):
fully deploying them for what would be very beneficial you.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Know, It's such a shock to the liberal left system
because there were four years of no enforcement of these
federal immigration laws, one at our border and then in
these loose, you know, limited amount of police protection in
these liberal cities when it comes to crime, it was
lax everywhere. So obviously when you get a responsible person
(04:40):
to guide the country back into safety for all of Americans, yeah,
it's going to look shocking. People are like, oh my gosh,
I can't believe he's doing this. This is terrible. Well,
you got used to Lucy goosey on crime for four
years under Biden, and now it's time to get this
country back on track with law and order. The pushback
to keep people safe. It just blows my mind. But
(05:00):
it continues
