Speaker 1 (00:00):
Alabama's Morning News. I'm JT. Kevin Flannagan joins us not
to take a look at four new movies opening up
in the theaters. Let's start with this big cast here,
Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and others. The movies called one
battle after another. Kevin, what's this one all about?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Yeah, this is what happens with revolutionaries when they grow up.
So you got a group of these extra revolutionaris are
out kind of living their lives in different ways, and
all of a sudden, they're nemesis from fifteen sixteen years
earlier shows up and grabs one of the guy's daughters,
and so they've got to they've got to come back together,
bring the band back together to go rescue her and
(00:35):
become revolutionaries again sort of. And so it is a
comedy drama, action film that does the stars Leo DiCaprio,
Sean Penn, but Ecio del Toro and a lot of
other names of faces people will recognize, good action, a
lot of fun. It's a you know, I'm always intrigued
by what they do with this guy's movies. Paul Thomas
(00:56):
Anderson has had one movie that's made some money made
about seventy eight minus million, and yet they're put one
hundred and thirty million into the budget for this one,
So you don't You never understand Hollywood and their dollars,
but this should be entertaining, at least with a little
bit of accent.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Very good, all right. The Strangers Chapter two horror film.
I bed right.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
It most certainly is. And if you like horror, you've
probably seen something out of this batch before. This is
the fourth film in the Stranger's genre or series. It's
chapter two because about a year ago Chapter one came out.
And what they're doing is they filmed Chapter one, two
and three all together in about a month. So i'd
show you what they put in the horror films and
(01:38):
then they'll be releasing these. We don't have release date
on Chapter three yet, but it's the same stuff. In
this one. You got the girl who is being chased
by the bad guys. They want to put a knife
in her. She's got to avoid that happening, and it's
just it's the kind of deal that you're going to
be chased by bad guys in masks. It's the creepiest
stuff you're going to see, but it's going to end
up where you're going. Okay, now we're ready for chapter three.
(01:59):
Turn the page. So I don't like these kind of movies,
but it is it is the typical slasher, evil horror
stuff that you get when.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
You yeah, all right, here's a couple of good movies
for the kids and family. Dude Perfect, The Hero Tour,
what's this one?
Speaker 2 (02:17):
I love these guys. And part of the reason I
love these guys is my grandkids love these guys. So
the Dude Perfect guys, they got a regular TV series
that my grandkids at least watch all the time, and
they've got to sold out tour and they videotape it,
and it's a lot of athletic competitions and family friendly
(02:37):
action stuff that they do and compete with one another.
And these guys do crazy stuff. But they're four really neat, young,
youngish kind of guys, committed Christians, and all they want
to do is bring joy to the people that watch
them and interact with them. So it's a fun backstage
look at what it means to be Dude Perfect. And
(02:58):
then it's a lot of what you get when you
watch their TV series as well.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
That's right, if you know, you know, that's right, all right,
Gabby's Dollhouse another kid fun movie. What's going on here?
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah? You like ads to like this one, or if
you like Gabby. It's a Netflix series that Now this
is the first movie. It's also the second movie done
by these folks at DreamWorks where they actually combine live
action with animation. So they're just kind of they're just
kind of getting into that world a little bit. But
if you watch the TV show, you know this little
girl who's got a dollhouse and she's got a bunch
(03:29):
of little tiny cats creatures that speak English that live
in there and talk to each other and have these
little adventures. Well, in this one, Gabby loses her dollhouse.
There's a whole storyline behind how that happens. It gets
grabbed by the cat lady in Get this Cat Francisco
sounds like a place I never want to visit. But anyway,
she loses it, the lady gets it, and Gabby spends
(03:50):
her time with her Grandma Mimi trying to get her
dollhouse and her little cat's back. It is rated G,
so there's not really frightening or dangerous kind of stuff
going on there for the kids. Hey, there's something for
everybody at the theater this weekend. So go enjoy a
movie
