Speaker 1 (00:00):
John Mounts in for JT as we try and make
sense of the senseless yesterday in the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
And this show is not about what I think, It's
about what you think. And we're taking as many calls
as we can as may talk back Mike's as we can.
Jerry is in Harpersville. Jerry, Welcome to Alabama's Morning News.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Good morning. You know, with all this tragedy, my my
unpopular thought probably is wait to be praying for that shooter.
Well calls if he takes his last breath without knowing
Jesus and Charlie would agree with this, that he he's
not going to a good place. Waity to pray for
(00:40):
his soul and pray for all these other crazy, sick
people out there that are wanting to do the same thing.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
You know, Jerry, you are very right about that, and
that is something that I think we lose in these situations.
We get angry, rightfully, so it's righteous indignation, but we
can't forget the message because if we go on to
hate the guy who shot Charlie Kirk, then we're we're
just as bad as the guy who pulled the trigger.
Just about because we need to remember the reason why
(01:09):
Charlie was saying those things, the reason why Christ died
on the cross for all of us. And it's sin,
sin in the hearts of all of us that even
that guy who pulled that trigger. So hopefully, hopefully, you know,
we can we can actually reach people like that, and
and if we do, maybe there'll be less events like that,
because I think sadly and it's it's a shame that happens.
But Charlie, he was, he was a martyr, much like
(01:31):
a modern day martyr, much like what happened to all
the apostles. He was a modern day apostle. And you know,
he died because of what he said. And you're right,
the guy who pulled that trigger, we should pray for him,
