Speaker 1 (00:00):
But on Friday's round here. You know what dad means,
don't you. That's right, it is time for Random fact Friday.
Five random facts you.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Can use during the holidays to really impress your friends
and family when they come over to slice that turkey
for Random fact number one, The Great Gatsby was not
a successful novel when it came out, and f Scott
Fitzgerald only earned two thousand dollars from the book. That's
around thirty seven thousand dollars in today's money. Random fact
number two. You're at least one hundred and four times
more likely to choke to death than to die from

(00:33):
being struck by lighting. It's just a little tip there
for you to chew all your food. This thanks you
having before you swallow. We're not snakes. We're not opening
up our throats and jaws. Random fact number three. Pepperoni
is an American food. An Italian pepperoni with one pee
is the word for bell peppers, and there's no salami
named pepperoni with two peas used as a pizza topic.

(00:55):
Pass it though. Random fact number four. This is kind
of interesting here. The US states that produce coffee are
Hawaii in California, about ninety percent of the coffee consumed
in the United States is important, especially from South America,
the Colombian roast and random fat number five. When the
Hindenburg crashed in nineteen thirty seven, sixty two of the

(01:17):
ninety seven people on board survived, and the last survivor
died at age ninety two and twenty fourteen. He was
a fourteen year old assistant on the Hindenburg went and exploded.
So now there are no survivors of the Hindenburg. Interesting
there too, So.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Let me ask you something. Yeah, how old were you
when you found out that people that ride in blimps
are not in the big puffy part. I'm being so serious.
How old were you?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I was probably probably in school, sixth grade, seventh eighth,
I don't know, somewhere in that arena when you know,
how about you twenty six?

Speaker 3 (01:53):
A few weeks ago?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Actually you just a few weeks ago. You just realized it.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yeah, someone posted a picture of the Goodyear Blamp and
I just found myself in the comment section. You know,
like a moonwalk.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
At a park or something. You just get in there,
like a birthday party.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yeah, I'm thinking everybody's in. They're like woll let's go
just jumping around like it's a trampoline. Genuinely thought that's
how people wrote in.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Those Did you think that it was like a big
airplane cabin where there were seats up in there and
that kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Or you know, in my head it was almost kind
of like, you know, ignorance is bliss. I thought that
people were jumping around like it was a trampline. You did,
And I really did think that that's why you don't
see him anymore because they were dangerous. They were a
liability because everybody was probably getting injured from Oh.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
You poor thing.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
I'm just as embarrassed to admit it.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Well, no, I mean, you know, who talks about a
blimp every day.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
In their life?

Speaker 3 (02:40):
I think I'm, you know, an educated individual, but now
I'm questioning.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yeah, I mean that I have had some things pop
up like that in my life too, where it's like,
are you kidding me? You know, it's always kind of
fun to you know, learn new things. That's an odd
one there, but you know, it's always nice to know something.
What I'm more perplexed about is how there were ninety
two people on board here because there only in that
little cabin.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Oh yeah, the actual part where people ride is tiny.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
It's a basket in hot air balloon.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
It's basically be hot air balloon with a you know,
enclosed deck, you know a little gondole if you will,
for going skiing.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
But yeah, that's all gas. Now I'm going to, you.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Know, kind of be kind of naive here too. They
the gas they used in the Hindenburg is different from
the gas they used today.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Correct, I believe, So yeah, okay, let's.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Go with that, all right.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Things were more colorful when I still believe that.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Yeah, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. And by the way, Easter Bunny. Okay,
