really tragic events unfold. We're about to go to Rory
O'Neill for the latest, but before that, I did promise
I get to as many of your calls as I could,
so very quickly, let's go up to Gadsden and who
do we have, Dean Dean, Welcome to the show. What
are your thoughts?

Hey, good morning. I'm a veteran. I got a lot
of things on my mind today. It's kind of rough,
but I'll let you know right now. I listen to
this radio station from early in the morning until just
about ten o'clock at ninth and a lot of conservative
commentators on here. But I want everybody to know, Look,
violence is not the answer one but two. You know,

Charlie did change a lot of minds, and that's pretty
much if you look at what's going on in the
world today. All right, they don't want the truth revealed,
and they're going to silence anybody that tries to say anything.
And you can't be scared, you cannot. You have to
stand up. There are a lot of people out there
who didn't think they were going to go into political office,

and they were going to do anything, and they stood
up and they made a change. That's what America has
to do. They can't be silenced and we got to
keep fighting forward for what you believed.

We're going now to Rory O'Neill about this, and Rory,
you've been watching the news unfold and of course what
we're very concerned about, equally concerned about Charlie Kirk and
his family, but also about the shooter and what happened

and if we're going to catch the assailant on this thing.
What's the latest news coming out of Utah.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Yeah, you know, there were two people who were questioned
and detained for a while but since have been cleared.
So there is a manhunt underway, a lot of forensic
work being done as we speak, looking at some of
the videos that have been posted and shared with the
hope that maybe someone has a better video of what
we believe now was a gunman who was on a
(01:56):
roof of a building about five hundred and fifty feet
from where the shooting took place, where Kirk was killed.
So they're trying to hopefully get some more video evidence,
maybe get traffic camera information, see what vehicles were coming
into and out of that campus, and try to figure
out exactly who the shooter was, because right now it
(02:16):
appears that this was a meticulously planned attack that they
knew to be on this rooftop, but also they planned
an exit. You know, in a lot of these mass shootings,
the gunman expects to be killed by police or to
take their own life, but that's not the case here.
It looks like this assassin really plotted their exit as well.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
I'm wondering. Early on they caught somebody and they said
that the shooter was in custody, and they said this
was not the shooter, but he I don't know if
you saw any of the video of him. He shouted
some really strange things as they apprehended the guy about
how you know he's innocent untill he's proven guilty, and
I did it and all this kind of stuff. And
this is just maybe too early for conspiracy theory, but
almost like that guy was there to draw attention away

from the real shooter to allow him to make the escape.
I don't know if you've seen any of that or
heard anything about the other people they brought into because
for some reason they apprehended these people. And I've got
to think that maybe there were more people involved than
just the single guy who pulled the trigger.

Well, and then that's another part of the investigation. And
you know, look, there was clearly some sort of planning
involved in this, right. This gathering happened at what is
essentially the campus quad. It's the big gathering spot. It's
designed for these kinds of events. So but there are
people coming going, someone going to class, the library, the
FedEx guy trying to deliver our package through there. So
(03:36):
it's normally a very busy area of the campus which
would be difficult to control under any circumstance, and I
think they were trying to take advantage of that. But
to know to stalk off this location, they knew the
likely positioning of the tent under which Charlie was giving
his speech. You know, all that pre planning must have
gone into place before this in order to plan this
(03:59):
and again and to plan the getaway as well.

And this it seems like this person who pulled the
trigger was a very skilled marksman. This was not as
some idiot on MSNBC said, some random guy shooting a
gun off this this person. They took their shot, they
took their time, and they get they hit their target.
As awful as it is, unlike what happened with Donald
(04:23):
Trump's assassination, who was only saved because he just happened
to turn his head at the right moment. Unfortunately, Charlie
Kirk didn't happen to turn his head at the right moment.
And that's this is what unfolded. Rory, Do we know
anything about you said that when you said people are
involved in this, I imagine it's far more than even
state officials. Do we have any sort of national help
that's coming into FBI and that sort of thing is

involved in this investigation?
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah, sure, the FBI was there pretty quickly, you know,
and Charlie Kirk being a friend of Cash Battell, the
FBI director Dan Bongina as well the number two men there.
So yeah, the FBI has been involved in this. But look,
it's also been a lot of mixed messaging and maybe
not managed so well in that you know, we heard
there was a person in custody and they weren't and
another person in custody at the same time, the Utah governors,

you know, giving conflicting information and a live press conference,
so there's been a lot of confusion. So it's understandable,
you know that people are a bit confused about what's happening.
But as we speak now, there is no one being
held in connection with the shooting, no one announced anyway.

And I guess that's what happens a lot of times
with these stories when they're breaking and they're changing so fast,
is there is a rush for broadcasters do want to
get as much information out there as possible, and sometimes
they push these pios and they push these people to
give them an answer, and they'll give them an answer
and it might not be the right answer. I think
that's sometimes a lot of those gets up.

Well, a lot of that was posted by Cash Bettel
on x so that's where a lot of the conflict
came from as well.
