Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, it's happening. Donald Trump has got executive orders just everywhere,
and the Department of Education was in the crosshairs yesterday
as he'd signed that executive order to begin dismantling this
Department of Education.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Today, we take a very historic action that was forty
five years in the making. In a few moments, I
will sign an executive order to begin eliminating the federal
Department of Education once and for all.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
We have it back to the States, is what it's
all about. With Donald Trump joining us now to talk
a little bit more about this. Royal Neil is here,
Good morning.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Roy Hey there, JG.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Happy Friday, Happy Friday. Min brother is so already the
pushback is coming Democrats and have everyone of the like
on the left is saying, ah, let's we got to
stop this. So it doesn't look like it's going to stop,
does it.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Well, right, So the President can wind things down, shutter programs,
and really weaken the Department of Education, but to officially
eliminated as a department is going to take an Act
of Congress, and it doesn't seem like there will be
enough votes there to get that done. But he can
really effectively neuter the agency through that executive action. Some
questions though going forward about you know, how are we

(01:14):
going to handle student loan programs. How do you make
sure that some of that funding gets there to help
the rural communities. There's a lot of federal funding for
disabled students that goes through the Department of Education. There's
still a lot of support for those kinds of programs.
You just need to figure out a mechanism to make
it happen well.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
The Department of Education secretary right now, Lenna McMahon, who
Donald Trump, says, I hope we can get to the
point where you lose your job because you're not needed.
But she's certainly there now helping. She says, most of
these federal funds go to regulation.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Listen, for every dollar that goes into the school system,
the federal funding, it's been reported to me that almost
forty seven cents of that dollar is spent in regulatory compliance.
Teachers they don't want to stay leaving the profession because
they are bogged down by regulation. Let's lift that burden
and let them do what they do best, which is teach.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
You know, you mentioned Roy the fact that some of
the programs will remain as he tries to dismantle this
Department of Education. He says, the pelgrants are still going
to be around.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Listen, pelgrants Title one funding resources for Children with disabilities
and special needs will be preserved, fully preserved. They're all
going to be So if you look at the pelgrants
supposed to be a very good program Title I funding
and resources for children with special disabilities and special needs.

(02:37):
They are going to be preserved in full and redistributed
to various other agencies and departments that.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Will take very good care of them.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
And that's very important to Linda, I know, and it's
very important to all of us.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
So Roy in the process, Now, what happens next and
how will the confrontations play out? Do you think?

Speaker 5 (02:58):
Well?

Speaker 4 (02:58):
I think that's look, Congress has been out this week,
so they're all going to come back to The Democrats
are going to come back with their hair on fire
after this has happened when they come back next week.
So there's going to be a lot of shouting and
pounding on the podium. But I think what's going to
have to effectively happen is that when we get through
the next budget process this fall, let's see how much
money that the Republican controlled House and Senate want to

(03:21):
set aside for education because they want to get back
to a normal budget process.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Yeah, I don't think the fight's over on this. You're
right about that, that's for sure, all right. Switching gears,
Tesla boy under the attack right now, and yesterday, White
House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said President Trump plans to
bring the full force of law to bear against these people.

Speaker 6 (03:38):
He will ensure that the harshest penalties are pursued for
those who are engaging in this vicious violence that we
have seen targeted at this American company, Tesla dealerships, Tesla employees,
and also innocent Americans who have chosen to drive these vehicles,
many of them ironically are likely demoic. As you so

(04:01):
eloquently pointed out, there is a major double standard here.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
You know, Roy and Neil, the uh people that drive
Tesla's are Democrats and are Republicans. So it's a vehicle
that people and a lot of people have taken a
liking to. And it's interesting that, you know, the left
has got their folks out there screaming about Elon Musk
and screaming about that so loud they're going to set
these vehicles on fire just for spite. It is a

(04:27):
bit hypocritical.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Yeah, it's sickening and it's a crime. And as the
Attorney General has said, it's uh, these are acts of
domestic terrorism. But I should also point out it's international
because we're seeing a lot of these vandalism incidents happening
in Canada as well. I think one dealership had Avy
cars in the Tesla a lot vandalized this week, either
gouging the paint or you know, puncturing the tires in

(04:50):
these vehicles. So it's not just an American phenomenon. But
as we've heard from the AG and the Press secretary there,
you know, this is unaccept uptable behavior that doesn't really
advance their cause for liberals.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Yeah, absolutely, one hundred percent, Roy, thank you so much.
It's amazing to see these people, you know, just jump
on the bandwagon of setting Tesla's on fire because Elon
Musk is getting really quick and moving to save US
billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I just don't get it.
You know what the bottom line is, it's Donald Trump. Okay,

(05:24):
it's not that they're setting Tesla's on fire. They're setting
Donald Trump's policies on fire. I mean, it's that's all
there is to it, because all of it makes sense
what Elon Musk is doing. Okay, and he's not out
there rogue running by himself on this and people act like, oh,
he's not even elected officially, he's out there doing all this.
Who says he gets to be king? Well, our president

(05:45):
of the United States brought him on as a consultant
to go take a look and see what's going on.
I don't know the last time I checked. Being worth
three hundred and fifteen billion dollars, this guy knows what's
going on with money and he's pretty smart. So yeah,
it's just crazy. This is all pushback on Donald Trump.
Not so much, Tesla
