Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining us now is mister roy O'Neill, one of our
better correspondents. We're glad to have him, and I appreciate
him taking time out of his busy morning to be
with us to share the knowledge that we can use
in our day moving forward.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Oh boy, how are yeah? We sound like one of
those gribbils on Warner Brothers. Let's do things.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
You know, our phone system is so gurgly. It just gurgled.
You do you hear it on that end when it goes.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
No, you sound good?

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Okay, well you sound good now too. Apparently now we've
got to all be more polite. We've seen the crazy
videos on airplanes and people are just losing their every
loving minds. And now the administration and our Transportation Secretary
Duffy saying, look, politeness word of the holidays this year.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Yeah, the golden age of travels starts with you, you
the flying public, and of course the real Thanksgiving holiday
travels and starts today. It's a big getaway day this afternoon,
and things are going to start getting congested. So the
Secretary is reminding us to, you know, be a little nicer.
Are you helping that pregnant woman put the bag in

(01:12):
the overhead band. Are you keeping control of your snotty
bratty little kids? Are you saying you're please and thank you?
And finally, are you dressing with respect? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
This whole thing of rolling out of bed and just
getting in the car and going to the airport with
your you know, your slippers on and your Pj's still on,
and you know, your headphones and what are you doing and.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Your juicy sweatpants.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Yeah, nasty getting the shower,
dress up like you're going to go meet some friends
at a party or something. What are you coming into
this airplane? And for gosh sakes, what are you doing
that night? Now, I'll get the shower when I get there.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
On the other side of the floor, No, with my
and I have my bed pillow with me, right, They
typically dragged their pillow with them. My hook on this, though,
My only criticism is why are we limiting this to
the airport? Right?

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Everywhere?

Speaker 2 (02:06):
More civil everywhere?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Well, because there's no escaping it. Once you're in that
metal tube in the sky and somebody's getting stupid, you
have no recourse but to just deal with it or not.
And then when you try and calm somebody down.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
I don't know. Are you married, Roy, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Okay. The best advice I would say for people in
relationships and the other person's getting a little ramped up,
the words calmed down never seem to really work.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
No, no, And I use that once and that's why
I'm not married. Oh see the.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Case in point our son. I don't know what the
solution is. If I guess minded stay out of it
unless it's right up in your face. I mean, if
you're on an airplane and some guy's going stupid or
some Karen's on their screaming for whatever reason, three rows
ahead of you, would you stand up and get involved
or would you just lay back?

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Everyone now just wants to get it on their phone
so you can share it and go viral. Right now,
there's more of that. Then they're not going to get involved.
They just want a better angle. That's the worst part
of it. So yeah, and then just too much you
can to support the flight attendance, you know't they're asking
you get out of the aisle, get out of the aisle,
or get out of the way. And it does start
at the gate. It's not always just in that flying

(03:18):
tube of illuminum the game game as well.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah, you don't usually see in the TSA lines because
those people don't play. You start messing around with the TSA,
you're gonna be on the ground and handcuffs in about
two seconds. You know, they think they're you know, ballsy
and you know, you know, just pushing people around at
the gate because oh, I don't see any cops, so
I'm just gonna get crazy.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Well, the other factor is the alcohol is on the
other side of the TSA. That's another big fuel there,
you go fuel on the buyer.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Well, you know you could just take you know, a
car and suv. So let's talk about this new report
out there and best transportation on the ground. What do
we got going right?

Speaker 2 (03:57):
US News and World Report out with their twenty twenty
six rankings already for the best Year Ahead. And they're
doing the brand a vehicle, not the model, the actual brand.
So if you're looking for a car, they say Honda
is the way to go, the Honda Civic or Honda Accord.
If you're in the market for an suv, Hondai wins
that award again, they've won like five out of six years.

(04:17):
The best truck They say, is the Ram the best
luxury brand? I know, the swim Drive is the luxury
brand JD. It's the Genesis. First time they've ever awarded
Genesis the best luxury brand.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Oh wow, that's pretty interesting. I do like the Rams,
those are nice. And what was the best suv? Again?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Best SUVs are made by Hyundai and they've got several
of them in that model. Best EV's they say, the
best electric vehicle is a Ford, believe it or not.
The best luxury EV is a Lucid. And if you're
at the used car lot like I am, they say
that the best pre owned program, like you know, typically
you buy it through the dealership, not just some guys
car lot, but the best pre owned vehicle program is

(04:57):
Lexus again, and it wins it every year, always has
because you get bumper to bumper for like six years,
even on a used car.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Well, I got to tell you every mechanic I've talked to.
Most people on car lots say, look, Lexus, they're basically bulletproof.
If you take care of it, change the oil and
you know, use good gas, it's going to last year forever.
They're just you know, maintenance free pretty much. Toyota is
an Alexis, how much?

Speaker 2 (05:19):
How much money? I'm not doing a rain Reveren Green
may to may be up to the Alexis, but I'm
still in the Toyota range of vehicles, which is also
a bulletproof yeah bakfully

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah all right, Roy, Hey, I have a great weekend
and we'll chat to you on Monday.
