Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, a judge now is allowing the secret grand jury
testimony of Jeff Free Epstein's little cohort there, Glaine Maxwell,
to be released to the public. Oh my gosh, smoking gun.
Let's see if roy O'Neil's dug deep into this story
to get us one ray, good morning, welcome in.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Hey there, jg good morning. Yeah, no smoking gun. And
that's the word from the judge who said that, yes,
this new law just passed by Congress sign by President
Trump means that we have to release this grand jury information,
but you're not going to find anything new.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
No names are in this report.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
And this specifically relates to the grand jury information gathered
in the prosecution of Glane Maxwell, Epstein's associated there, the
woman essentially accused of finding the girls for Epstein and
others to abuse.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Yeah, well, let me get to the point here. Why
aren't we just releasing everything? What are we looking for?
The people that are screaming we want to see what's
going on here? What do they want? I mean, why
don't we just get after it and get or done?
Why do these judge keep dancing around? And so we'll
do a little bit. We can do that, but not
this and I mean, well, it's getting old.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
No, in this case, the judge is doing everything you can, like,
here's the law, this is the case he was supervising.
So this is the case they asked about, and he said, yep,
go ahead, just make sure no names are involved.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
And that's where we are today. No names.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I get protecting the victims' names.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
But I'm sorry, that's my mistake. I meant no names
of the victims. I'm sorry, that's my mistake. So we
may see some names then.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Well no, Well the judges said, look, I've looked at
all this stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
There aren't any names in what you're going to release.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
So there are no names of men that we're all
looking for in all the grandeury information in this case.
So the judge says, he's just lowering expectations, saying, look,
I'm releasing it.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
This is what the new law says. Here it is,
but lower your.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Expectations because there are no names that are in here,
no information about means and methods.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Let me I can bring up.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
The exact line is quote they do not discuss or
identify any client of Epstein's or Maxwell's.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Okay, well this is not then, really, what can we
possibly be getting from this.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Oh there's what she said, a big deal zero, But.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
It does, it does shut down the conspiracy crowd of
well they didn't release those files, you know, so sort
of shake down that. But look, we've got three or
four of these all going simultaneously because some of these
are looking into Jeffrey Epstein Grandeury material as well, So
that's pending with the hearing coming up. So this is
just sort of another step in that process as it
(02:26):
relates to Maxwell and her role.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yeah, here's a little nugget of corn for you in
the silo of information that's really out there there it is. Yeah, thanks,
thanks a lot a brand of sand. Well, we talk
about this all the time, you know, the phones, the
internets and children and how awful it is. And yesterday
our Senator to Katie Brittan others, we'll speaking on Capitol
Hill as the Senate held this hearing on protecting kids online.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Listen.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
As a mom, you know you you work so diligently
to keep your children safe, and used to you would
get them home at night and you would lock the
doors and you'd be able to kind of exhale. And
now the enemy is inside our home.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
Of the House has weakened the Kids Online Safety Act Bill,
in effect decimating the duty of care which prevents the
kinds of abuses and holds the platforms accountable.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
You know, it's awful what's going on online these days,
and you really got to protect your kids. There's so
many creepy creeps out there. And there's now a new
study that says the consumption of all this digital media
may be affecting the brains of children. So you've got
the pedophiles and the creeps looking for your kids, and
then so much consumption of all of this stuff is
actually chemically doing things to your brain. Not shocked in
(03:45):
either of these studies here, So, Roy, what's going on
with the brains of our kids now being affected by
so much digital action?
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Right?
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Specifically, though, it's social media in particular that gives them
greater likelihood of increasing chances for at ten time deficit disorders. Interestingly,
not hyperactivity, but attention deficit is an issue with.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Social media use.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
They found in this research that if the kid is
on a pad watching TV, even if they're playing video games,
that doesn't have the same negative impact on add issues.
So it is interesting that it specifically relates to social
media use and an increased chance for attention deficit disorders.
They measured kids over a four year period. You know,
(04:29):
they would start using their phones about thirty minutes a day.
By the end they're using them two and a half
hours a day on this stuff. I mean, the kid
could be learning a second language in that time rather
than just scrolling by videos.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Well, you know, the beast is out of the box,
and you know the parents are I wouldn't have to
say kind of guilty of the same thing. You know,
you look around and you see moms and dads on
phones all the time, and the kids are grown up
watching this, and it say, dad, d Dad, I ask
you a question.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Oh well, I'm sorry. What's going on?
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Whether it's checking emails, or it's playing a game or
just scrolling through social media. The phones have become a
bit of a beast in our world and if we
don't get a handle on it, you're right, I mean, kids, Hey,
we're in class here. No one of their banned phones
and classrooms. Maybe we need to ban phones in homes
more and more these days, Roy, thank you.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
How about for the holiday table?
Speaker 2 (05:20):
How about for the holiday Can we just agree maybe
start the all at dinner for Christmas and Thanksgiving and stuff.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
No phones one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
You know, Charlie kirks new book just came out and
his wife is out there promoting the book and talking
about what Charlie wrote in his last writings, and a
lot of that was, you know, the Sabbath. You know,
you got to stop doing anything, turn your phones off,
turn your media, and have a day of rest on Sunday.
You know, work six days a week, but you know,
put put everything down and get away from the madness
(05:49):
of the craziness in the world. And I'm telling you
the phone, you know, you know it, I know it.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
We all know what. The phone's an ugly.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Beast out there that we ought to just turn off
occasionally and just forget about it.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
But it's tough for to do.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Then then we talk about all right, right, thank you
about e
