Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining us now, Royan Neil our correspondents. Flight lazing, cancelations
are ramping up here increasing. It's put a lot of
pressure on you know what's going on in Washington, the
lawmakers to get these government to plans moving forward here
and get us back open again. Roy good morning, welcome
in Hey.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
There's at Yeah, you know, a lot of pressure, a
lot of noise, but not a lot of movement. You know,
both signs really aren't even in any kind of negotiation.
House Speaker Johnson he does a press conference every day,
but his members aren't there. Essentially, he keeps saying, look,
we passed our bill, we did our part of the equation,
we're done here. But the Democrats are not willing to

(00:34):
pass that continuing resolution. So they're the ones who aren't
flipping over to the Republican side. They're not getting the
sixty votes needed to get this CEUR past. But now
we're even hearing more senators talk Democrat and Republican that like,
even if you were to pass this thing, this only
opens up the government now for less than a month,
and we're going to be right back here again.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah, that's my my thought process too, right, So we
get to end and over or what twenty first or
whatever the date is, and you know, the party's over again.
So I mean, why don't we just go all right?
So when the House gets back they've been on one
of four week break. I don't know when they're actually
coming back, but what are we going to have to
restart this whole plan again for you know, fiscal year

(01:16):
twenty twenty six. I mean, it seems to me we're
gonna have to, you know, get everybody back together on
a number of other things besides this.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
So now to give me, what the House Speaker would
say is that their members are working on the sidelines
on the twenty twenty sixth bill if we're all spending,
and they've described it as being about eighty five percent
of the way there. That's also probably the low hanging
fruit in that last fifteen percent might be you know,
unable to resolve, but he says there, they're mostly there,

(01:46):
and that's why we're hearing Senator to say, well, let's
just do this now. The other proposed solution is let's
just do another continuing resolution through September thirtieth of next year.
But then that doesn't address the overspending problem.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Do we keep kicking it down the road. Liz, what
makes common sense to me is open the government. Now
we're starting to see the ripple effect take place, as
you mentioned with the flights and what's happening with the
you know, the air traffic controllers. The TSA is going
to be an issue. There's going to be more problems
as this continues on, like this military still getting paid
right now. But I mean they were talking about that

(02:22):
a little bit here, So enough already, let's just get
back to work. We're almost here in November. When everybody
gets back, we sit down, we talk about twenty twenty
six and move forward on this. You know, let's speed
that process up and start from ground level zero again
instead of just as subsidy thing. All right, everybody.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Starting well, because yeah, the fiscal year ended September thirtieth, right,
we're supposed to have the new budget October first, so
we're already going off borrow time. Well, you're trying to
borrow that time to November twenty first. And now this
is why they say, well, let's just do this cr
through through September of next year. And that really is
abdicating your responseility.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
It is so frustrating, and Schumer is just in Hakeem
Jefferies are driving me insane here with them. We're not
budgeting until we pay for illegals. I mean, what are
you doing here with this country. It's just you're barking
up the wrong tree. Your mantra needs to change. America
is not voting you in. They didn't vote you in.
This is Donald Trump and the Republican House and the

(03:23):
Republican Senate here, So I just, you know, they're just
going in the wrong direction here, and it's not what
America wants. But they have a you know, enough to
just clog the wheels up here and cause problems. So
all right, well, we'll see when we get another vote
going today. Also, what's the beef American ranchers with President
Trump's trade policy in Argentina? What's going on here?

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Yeah, there's a lot of folks in the agriculture sector
who are upset. I'll try to do this as quickly
as I can. There's the trade dispute with the US
and China. China not buying any zero American soybeans instead
buying them from Argentina. President Trump a big fan of
the president of Argentina. And it's mutual. The President committed

(04:07):
twenty billion dollars in cash to help support the Argentinian economy,
plus another twenty billion in foreign investment. There and then
and now, the American farmers already upset losing the soybean
business to China. Now the President Trump said, let's bring
in and buy an import Argentinian beef to help out
their economy. Now, American ranchers are like, hey, what's the deal.

(04:29):
You know that's not going to help us, because we're
facing enough problems with beef prices being as high as
they are.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah, they are still high and that's for sure. Well, Roy,
thank you for the update. I appreciate you
