Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh, yes, the front and center topic of discussion seems
to be these boat attacks that Pete hag Seth, President
Trump and the admiral have put together.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Now.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Admiral Bradley testified to the Senate Committee yesterday and Senator
Cotton waited on this and said, the reason we had
that double tap, double strike is because these guys were
still trying to do stuff. I saw two survivors trying
to flip a boat loaded with drugs down for the
United States back over so they could stay in the fight. Nope,
(00:31):
not today. So joining us now, Royal Neil for a
little bit more on this, as these military leaders have
given some details to Congress on this whole thing. How
did it go yesterday?
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Yeah, the Admiral spent about five or six hours talking
to Senators and giving them behind the scenes, behind closed doors,
descriptions of what happened in the timeline and showing them
some of that video. You heard Senator Cotton describe it there.
After the meetings, we saw senators pretty much come out
and fall behind party Republicans supporting the strikes, Democrats opposing
(01:03):
the strikes, getting very different views. The question is will
we get to see what they saw right a lot
of that video. There's a lot of pressure. President Trump
has said he's for releasing that video so that we
can all get a better understanding of exactly what happened
back on September.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Second, you know, this has been pretty effective and they've
hit over twenty boats now and killed more than eighty
people in this crime, the war on the crime and
the drug world. So did they come to with any
conclusions about Okay, go ahead, keep doing this. Okay, we're
going to try and push back Democrats. Are they going
to do anything more to try? I mean, the testimony
(01:39):
was great and it brought information and clarity, but will
it change course or will hegseeth stay on track with
continuing to blow drug boats out of the water. They're
headed this direction.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Well he blew up one last night, so apparently yes,
this is going to continue. There was a boat strike
last night in the eastern Pacific Ocean that one killed
four people in that strike, and again they believe it
was transporting drugs, but they're still pretty opaque about the details.
You know, Southern Command releases the video and it's pretty
cool to look at and it says that you know,
(02:10):
they were transporting drugs and stuff. But they're like, from where,
how do you know that? Who were they? Why? So
there aren't a whole lot of details about that. Even
the senators and representatives can't get the detailed information just
to make sure that that's actually who's being taken out here.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Well, let me ask you this. A lot of times,
when you want to have all the details and transparency
brought to the public eye, it's like, well, if we
do that, you're going to kill You're going to kill
our operation here. There's too much I guess, well, secret
information on how they're getting their data. So is there
a committee that only a certain amount of senators or
congressmen would hear about it?
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah, so you could have the Armed Services Committee or
the Foreign Relations Committee in the Senate, either one of
those could get that information. So at least they can say,
all right, that's who it was. Because then what you
do have because we don't know. There are lawsuits being
filed by Colombians saying that was my husband who was
a fisherman, and you know, and so now we don't
know because you know, now you get because there's a
(03:07):
vacuum of information, there's a lot of stuff. Let's be right,
a light that can fill that void. And that's why
if they were a little bit more forthcoming about some
of the intelligence here, even just sharing it again with
senators and representatives, you'd say, Okay, at least you have
a pretty good idea that these really are drug boats
and confirmation of it.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Well, I don't think heg Seth and the whole team
and the admiral and everybody's just willy nillying this, you know,
throwing bobs out there in drones and striking at random
boats that are on the beach or on the on
the water. I think they've got some intel before they
go ahead and pull the trigger on these things. I mean,
that's only help me.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Well, that's that's well, yeah, we hope so yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Well, all right, we'll have more information on this. I'm
sure it's not over yet. You gotta be traveling during
the holiday's.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Roy nothing planned yet. I keep on looking, but never
keep never clicking to actually go and steal the deal.
We did get some good travel news from the folks
at Triple A yesterday. You can me gas averaging below
three bucks a gallon for the first time in four
years since twenty twenty one, so that's good news. Even
California prices are down here. It's like two to eighty
(04:11):
nine across most of Florida. How about you?
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Weirred about two fifty three. I think over at Costco,
I think that's what I saw, Yeah, for the regular gas,
but I think at the average pumps. You know, I
have to look that up. I try and get to
Costco as much as possible and save that extra money.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Right and then also and for next year, the Points
guy out with their travel predictions for twenty twenty six
and travel trends. Americans still want to travel overseas. The
demand is still there, a little more cost conscious though,
especially with the dollar losing some of its value in Europe,
like oh where else can we go? So there's a
there's some of that. And also people are trying to
(04:49):
avoid crowds more. You know, we've got a travel bug
after the pandemic, and Americans still want to get out
there and see the world. So the trend is smaller destinations,
smaller crowd smaller.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Well, there you go, save money, save money, there you go.
Royal Neil, thank you, buddy. I appreciate the update.
