Speaker 1 (00:00):
Anybody keeping score. Government still shut down. I mean, what
day are we in twenty two to twenty three? It's ridiculous.
CETA majority whipped John Barrasso talking about the government shut down,
he says, he's Democrats. They don't care about Americans that
have been affected by this.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
What we're seeing here are the Democrats practicing the politics
of pain, and it's the American people who are suffering
the pain. And it's the millions of military members, TSA agents,
Border patrol people who go to work every day and
they're wondering when will they get their next paycheck. I
talked to someone in Wyoming yesterday is in that category,
and they're saying, I still got to put food on

(00:35):
the table, trying to feed the kids. How are we
going to do that? The Democrats don't seem to care
about any of those Americans. They care more about the
people in their left wing who want to provide health
care for illegal immigrants paid for by taxpayers, rather than
pay the men and women in uniform. It's wrong. They're
afraid of their liberal base.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
He had no doubt about it. It's the AOC's in
the background, going you better watch out, you better get
into the line we're in and start clamping down on
these Republicans. I think Schumer seriously scared the death of
AOC if you're asking joining us now, Ryan Smells, our
Fox correspondent in DC, Ryan, I guess we're seeing no
movements in any good direction at this point, still right,

(01:19):
I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
We'll see some interesting votes, Babby. Today the Republicans are
going to put a bill on the floor that would
pay essential workers during the shutdown. So this will be
certainly a vote that'll put Democrats to the test and
see what they ultimately do. Well.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I mean, we're still at the center of why this
is all going on. It's the Obamacare, is the subsidies,
you know, the continuing I mean, we're getting close to
November twenty one, I think is when you know the
deadline is on this and the continued resolution. The Republicans said,
let's go, I mean, open up the government and we'll
sit down start negotiating, you know, trying to get you know,
fiscal years over already. So we're already kind of behind

(01:54):
the eight ball on this thing here. But you know,
what's it going to take?

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Do you think you know, I mean take maybe potentially
somebody caving. That's one way that could happen. Uh. You know,
President Trump could get involved and say that he wants
certain things or wants Republicans to to embrace certain things.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
But you know, yes, based on what he said yesterday,
it seems like he's not really interested in caving either
or going one way or another. He's pretty stug in
just the way that John Thune and Mike Johnson are.
And uh, you know, I mean there could be just yeah,
I mean, I think the best option right now, or
the most likely outcome is is potentially a couple of
moderate Democrats in the Senate possibly just voting with Republicans

(02:34):
to reopen the government. But you know, we haven't gotten
any indication that any more going to join the three
that have already voted with the Republicans.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Yeah, where's Spatterman? I understand he was on board to
go with the Republicans and then he got kind of
waffling us.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Okay, okay, Well, well he's an interesting case because he's
now calling on on Republicans to nuke the filibuster to
reopen the government. And you know, that would be quite
a move on his part if that were to happen.
Because you know, I mean, he's a Senate Democrat, who
I mean isn't really the biggest fan of the filibuster.
Republicans have been pretty staunch.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
On it, and but you know, his argument is that, well,
you know, Democrats, some of them campaigned on you know,
saving the philip or getting rid of the filibuster, and
now they're using the filibuster to keep the Republicans from
passing their bills.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah. I hope he's working some of his you know,
cohorts on the Democratic side of the fence up there
and saying, look, come on, let's go. We can get
this done down the road. Let's just open the government
and get it here and start chatting with these people,
because we're not going anywhere in My constituents back in
Pennsylvania aren't happy with me, right, so let's get going here.
So we'll have to wait and see.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Ryan.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Thank you so much, buddy, I appreciate you.
