Speaker 1 (00:00):
Our Attorney General, Pam Bondi, was confronted by Democrats and

(00:03):
the Senate hearing over crime yesterday. Here's a bit of
a montage of what she went through. They are going
to transfer Texas National Guard units to the state of Illinois.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
What's the rationale for them? The National Guard are on
the way to Chicago. If you're not going to protect
your citizens, President Trump will.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Under this Trump administration and the leadership of Attorney General Bondi,
I believe the independence of the Department of Justice has
come under attack. So my first question Attorney General Bondi
is a simple yes no question. Do you believe that
government officials like Gregor Bovino are obligated to follow applicable

(00:41):
court orders whether they agree with them or not? Yes
or no.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
First, Senator Padilla, you have gone on for over five minutes,
and I wish that you loved your state of California
as much as you hate President Trump would be in
really good shape then, Because violent crime in California is
currently thirty five percent higher than the national average. Property
crime in California is eighteen percent higher than the national average.

(01:07):
That should be something that we should be talking about
and working together on.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
I thought she started a ground pretty well yesterday joining us.
Now Ryan Smells, our Fox correspondent in DC. So no
more battles today for her. I guess it was a
one day event, right, right.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Yeah, she was supposed to actually come back on Thursday
to appear before the House Judiciary Committee, but that is
no longer going to happen because the Judiciary Committee is out,
just like the rest of the House is at least
to while the government to shut down.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Also, I see, I thought the Senators and you know
folks in the House and Congress was not out because
of the shutdown, but they're stopping doing.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Some of their business.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
No they're not not. Yeah, so pretty much Bigger Johnson
is keeping the members of Congress, the House members home
pretty much. It's a way to strong arm the Senate
in the voting for the government funding builts on the table.
But also I think there's this thought that if aus
comes back in the session at a lead of Rahova,
the congressman from Arizona just got elected, is going to

(02:07):
get sworn in, and then she becomes a two hundred
and eighteenth vote on the discharge pedition that forced the
vote on the release of the Epstein file. So there's
that thought too.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Well, when you see the questions that were coming at her,
and they were from all different directions. Here, one of
the ones that I still kind of disagree with everybody
just you know, saying nay, we're not going to answer
it is the Epstein situation here, Well, is there ever
going to be a day that we're going to see
exactly what was in the files of the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
Well, we're led to believe it's going to happen at
some point. They're going through and making sure that the
proper innovations were adacted. They've they've given over a significant
amount of files to the House Oversight Committee. So there
are a sub believe it's just a matter of time.
But yes, I mean people are up are demanding answers,
and Pam Bondi's at the forefront of that, and people
are still you know, questioning when it's going to happen,
and just hadn't happened yet.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Well, do we see any movement you know with I
guess can courts be brought into this? I mean, if
the Congress isn't going to do it, then can somebody
sue to have it done.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
I think there's been an attempt. I don't know if
it's been successful or not, so I have to look
into that. But I mean, there are definitely certain ways
to compel the release. But you know, this has been
tried before. It can be very hard to get information
from the DJ if something's either redacted or you know,
if they're protecting sensitive information. There's a lot of guardrails

(03:28):
in there.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, one hundred percent. Well, obviously there's a lot of
names in there that people don't went out and it's
just going to damage their careers and their families, and
who knows what else is in there that could have
major negative consequences for them. But the bottom line is
these women that were trafficked to young girls. There needs
to be justice for them. That's at the crux of
all of this. That kind of you know, irritates me that, look,

(03:50):
you know, consequences for the actions that took place on
this island of hell. So I hope at some point
these folks are held accountable on this Ryan, thank you, buddy,
I appreciate it.
