Speaker 1 (00:00):
As the President comes to Tuscaloosa later today, Senator Tommy Tubberville,
I am assuming we'll be joining the president as well,
he joins us. Now, good morning, Coach, how are you
this morning?
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Good morning, jay T. I'm doing good. That's things there.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Everything's fantastic. I was just speaking with Walt Maddox, the
mayor Tuscaloos, and he's been working on logistics on the
President's arrival for about a week and a half already,
as he got to notice a week ago Saturday. So
are you coming with him? I hear rumors.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Yeah, I'm coming, and uh, you know I've traveled with
president before and it's and it is. The mayor there
is exactly right. It's a logistics nightmare for where he's
going because you know, they've tried to kill the guy
twice and it was not by mistake. It was all planned.
And uh, you know, I always worried about his health
(00:50):
and safety. But you know, he's the type of guy
that's just he's gonna do whatever to get his word out,
and that's what he's going to do when he comes
to Sclusive tonight. Look forward to coming and seeing him,
and we'll be with Coach Saban. He's going to be there,
and uh, it should be an entertaining trip. I'm looking
forward to to coming south.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
I think it's gonna be fantastic for our state. I
mean he's only doing what one or two of these
commencement addresses this year. I think there's another academy. I
think he's going to be attending at some point. But uh,
Coach Saban will speak tonight. I understand, Will you be
speaking as well?
Speaker 2 (01:25):
No, I you know, I said, he that's the president.
They asked me.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
I mean they come and hear you. They're not coming
to hear me. And uh, you know the president. He'll
have a good message for all the graduates. And I
think that's mostly what's gonna be there.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
But and talk and talk about the things that are
going on. Peace, trade, and taxes. That's that's the three
things that that boy we're right in the middle of
right now, trying to get all these wars toobbed and
and get to get to all this trade going in
the direction that we can survive as a country. And
then of course, taxes and get back and cut the taxes.
(01:59):
Of course, the Democrats WI want to race taxes and
that's what they're backing. You believe anybody to vote for
these folks, I really don't.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Well, I'm going to get your thoughts on Pete Hegsath.
As you heard during Fox News there there's a lot
of discussion on what's going to be happening around the
globe and his position on where we stand. And he's
kind of like Donald Trump. You know, you get in
line with the United States plan and if you don't,
and things are going to be turning into a conflict.
This isn't Joe Biden's administration anymore. Your thoughts on how
(02:27):
our defense secretary has been doing in light of some
of that signal texting going on in the false narratives
around some of that as well. So your thoughts on Pete.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah, I like Pete. He's a perfect for the job.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
He's young, he's energetic, he understands the military, and obviously
most of this stuff is propaganda.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
From the left wing media.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
And I even told him when he got the job,
you know, he has so many people to hire, and
there was a few people that he at the end
of the day after a couple of months, they listen,
it's not working out. I don't I don't like the
direction that are the things you're saying. So he made
some changes, and that's what you do.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
You do that.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
And unfortunately we haven't had that from from from other
Secretary of Defenses. But our military is on the right
track and making it stronger. President Trump put me in
charge of the Personnel Committee on Armed Services and we're
trying to help in recruiting. And he put me on
the board of the Air Force Academy, which has got
(03:29):
a lot of woke Tennessees and we're going to get
that straight. So yeah, Pete's doing a good job. It's
this propaganda is just absolutely amazing from the from the left,
and you know, they're socialist communists at the end of
the day, either that or they're stupid, and I would
think all three of them are involved.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Continue our conversation with Senator Tommy Turberville, Coach, as I
know you were in town recent well actually in our
states in Huntsville visiting there. The FBI now has obviously
got a big presence in our state. Now Space Command
is coming to Huntsville, as it should when you and
Katie Britt jump into our state and come back and
(04:07):
visit things that affect us nationally as well. I mean,
that's a big impact for the folks here in Alabama,
having the FBI having Space Command Center here being a
part of our national picture, and I think, I mean
puts us in a pretty good light.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
It really does.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
And people across straight don't realize what Senator Shelby had
the opportunity to obtain a lot of money for to
build the FBI. It's the second largest FBI facility in
the country. Hopefully it's the number one. We're still building.
We're two thirds of the way done. Cash Hotel came
with Katie and I and we toured it.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
That's about the fifth or sixth time I've been over there.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Training centers being built cyber I mean, it's unbelievable. He's
sending five hundred from DC down as we speak. His
letters went out two weeks ago. He's going to send
five hundred more down at the end of the year
and possibly even up to two thousand in years to come.
So a lot of things going on there. He's not
just doing that, he and Dan Bogino are changing all
(05:05):
of the regional, the state and the local FBI AGENC
season getting woke and Dee add nonsense out of it
and getting back to taking care of the law and
order in the communities and the states all across the country.
So Cash Hotel is outstanding. He's exactly what we needed.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
I want to get your thoughts on Dan Bongeno since
you brought him up, and obviously his podcast radio show
for quite some time very popular, and sometimes we forget
the background on some of these folks like Pete Hegseth.
We're so used to seeing him on Fox Television as
an anchor and a commentator there, all of a sudden,
he's pulled into be the Secretary of Defense, and then
you've got Dan Bongino pulled into work with Cash Mattel
(05:44):
in the FBI. It's like, wow, Okay, I liked his podcast.
Now he's going to be a big dog here in Washington, DC,
and he's been kind of in the background right now
in low key. But talk to me about Dan Bongino
and his role and how important that is.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Well, you got to remember Bongino was what twenty years
in law enforcement and secret service, so he knows a
lot about what's going on. Lived in DC. He's traveling
in the country as Cash is doing. They're working hand
in hand. We've got to get it straightened out. Our
FBI was corrupted. It was going after politicians such as
Republicans President Trump, and they were they were weaponized and
(06:20):
weaponized by the Democrats. And that's over and they just
can't stand it. I tell you, they do not want
a fair and balance law enforcement. They wanted on their
side along with the CIA. But things have changed and
President Trump is turning it back over to the American
people into the taxpayers, which it should be.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Well, I agree with you.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
I think you know she he will do a fantastic
job at working with cash. And like you said, I mean,
he's got a background that is solid as Oh yeah,
all right, coach, I know, I know it maybe time now,
you know, perhaps it is time. I know you've been
praying with your wife about the decision to run for
governor of the state of Alabama. So if you like
(07:00):
to announce this morning, I mean that the floor is yours.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Well it's it's a little bit early.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
You know, we're going to look at it in another
few weeks. Matter of fact, I'll talk with President Trump
again today about it and as we travel into Alabama.
But you know, the big thing is I came up
here to help the American people and the people from
from Alabama, and that's what we're doing.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
And as we're looking at it, along with my staff,
where can we help the most? You know, the one
thing I will tell you President Trump is sending as
you know, howard money back to the States, and I
think that's a that's a plus to be governor. But
also you know, there's a lot of federal money up here.
Katie's doing a good job. We work hand in hand together. Uh,
(07:44):
whatever we do, we're going to do what's best for
the people Alabama. I don't want to be called senator.
I don't want to be called governor. I'm a builder.
I want to do things to help people. This is
me giving back to the country in the States. So, uh,
you know, we'll probably make some kind of decision by
the end of the month of.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Okay, I assume that this is where we're going. I mean,
I'm obviously not sure of what you and your family
have decided you're going to do, or if you've decided yet.
But if, in fact, if you do announce and you
become governor, and the anticipation as to who you might
like to see fill the spot as a US Senator
for US.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Well, obviously there's a lot of people calling me, Coach,
what are you going to do? He said, I'd like
to run for your position if it will be wide open.
There will be oh, I don't know, five or six
people that have contacted me. Some that should be very
surprised about that. I think would be very good. So
we'll just have to wait and see. First I got
to make that decision. They might not have anything to
(08:43):
run for or run against me for the United States Senate,
And that's what I told them because this has been
a long process that I've been thinking about. And again,
this is not about me. That's about the state and
doing what's best for people of Alabama. And we'll just
have to wait and see how that works out. But
there'll be no matter what happens, there'll be good good
(09:04):
I think good people in both spots.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Well, I got to tell you, I'm looking forward to
twenty twenty eight when you hear President Saban going to
meet with Governor Tubberville, and I mean the combo there is.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yeah, Yeah, that would that would be very interesting, wouldn't it?
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Sure would? Well?
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Coach safe travels today as you come back to Tuscaloosa,
and thank you so much for joining me this morning.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
I appreciate you. Yank you, God bless I'm Buss buddy.
Thank you,
