Stephen Willeford discusses the shocking death of legendary Oakland Coach

Joining us now. Stephen Wilford, who is you know, the
hero with a gun who serves as a spokesman for
the gun owners of America, is here to talk to
us about what's been going on with these random killings.
And most recently, Coach out in Oakland, California, was shot
on the campus there Landy College campus there and legendary
coach been doing it for a long time and beloved

by the folks in the area out there, and just
all of a sudden, somebody shoots him in the head. Now, Stephen,
welcome in, thanks for being here. What do they didn't conclude?
I know they've got somebody in custody on this situation here,
Was this a target attack?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
That?

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Do they know what the motive was in all this?

Speaker 2 (00:38):
I'm not sure about that. What I can say is,
you know, California and been restrictions are ridiculous, and I
don't know what you have there in Alabama. But Eric Texas,
we have campus carries, meaning that students and state universities

(01:01):
in Texas can carry on campus and faculty. So you know,
it's a gun free zone in most places. And it's
proven that ninety three percent of all mass shootings happen
where in gun free zones. So somebody wants to shoot someone,

(01:25):
the best place to do it and get away with
it will be a gun free zone. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
I remember, my father in law has a sign on
his door and it says right there, this is not
a gun free zone. You'll just know if you're kind
of break in here, you know, you may be meeting
with some trouble here. But you know, it just seems John,
And I'm with you. You know, I'm open carry. I think,
you know, it should be allowed everywhere. I don't know

(01:52):
about carrying a gun into a football stadium. I mean,
I'm not sure I'm on board with that.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
But you know, well, well why, you know, because a
bad guy with a gun is just absolutely going to
ignore the laws anyway, and you know, just the law
of average, a good guy might be able to stop it. Yeah,
so why are you stopping it at a football stadium?

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Well because people, you know, you know, well, that's a
whole nother discussion. I've just I've seen fights break out
in stadiums over stupid stuff because people are drinking too
many beers there.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Well, you know, well.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
But with this with this campus thing, I know, at
the University of Alabama. You're not allowed to carry a
gun on that campus, you know. And each individual place
is allowed to set their own guidelines, whether or not
you're an open carry state or not, which we are,
and you don't need a permit anymore, at least in
Jefferson County. I don't think in the state of Alabama
anymore either. But there are you know, places that they

can say, this is my business, this is my school,
this is my stadium, this is what whatever, no.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Gun far as far as places of business go. You
have the right to control your property. I do believe.
I believe in property rights one hundred percent. However, what
I do believe is if you refuse to give me
the right to carry a gun and defend myself and

(03:22):
my family on your property, then all of a sudden,
you are now liable for providing my security on your property.
And something were to happen to me on your property
in your stores, say and I got shot, and you
should be liable for that also.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Well, let me ask you this, why do you think
so many states are against concealed carry to begin with?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Because they're liberal and it's not about gun control. It's
about control one hundred percent. It's about control and the
perception and when you when you just really think about
it and you go back, and you'll understand the criminals
don't pare. Criminals are going to carry whenever they carry,

(04:07):
wherever they carry. They're not worried about the law. Yeah.
You know, then it just makes sense that more good
people have the ability to not only protect themselves, but
to protect others around them.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Yeah, and that more and more people are getting the
concealed carry permits now. It's more and more states are
jumping on board with passing that type of legislation, and
I would imagine that trend will continue into twenty twenty six.
