Speaker 1 (00:00):
Terry Schilling joins US now President American Principles Project, also
a GOP strategist on what's going on with China. Terry,
welcome in, Thanks for being back with me, Thanks so
much for having you know, I just keep telling McKenzie
Air producer, we're talking about this and Donald Trump, you know,
he drops the prices or he signs in an executive
order to drop the prices on pharmaceuticals to I guess

(00:21):
he's price matching. So whatever the lowest prices and developed
nations around the globe. He says, if that's what the
price is, that's what we're going to do. And you
know there's going to be a lawsuit after lawsuit challenging this.
The big farm of people are having a col right now.
And as Ryan Smells was telling, you know, there is
a pharmaceutical lobbyist for every congressman in the in the Congress.

(00:45):
So they're a big organization and they're not going to
you know, go down without a fight on all this.
But you know, once again, Donald Trump, the great negotiator,
is throwing out this, that's it. We're paying the lowest
prices out there globally, and at some point he'll end up.
So we're negotiating a little bit better, but in the end,
I think it's all going to work out. So once

(01:05):
again you have the same type of negotiation going on
with China, and everybody's like, oh my gosh, this one
hundred and forty five percent there, if this is out right,
this isn't going to work. And then all of a sudden,
Oh look who's got a deal. I mean, it's just incredible,
you know, I'm just amazed. But so let's talk about
the ninety day thing. A lot of work to be done.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
No, a lot of work to be done. But like
you were saying, this is a major win for President Trump.
And look, what we're dealing with is about a century
of the building up of all these special interest groups
in America. Big pharma is a trillion dollar industry, right,
and all the companies that have been shipping our jobs overseas.
There's trillions of dollars at stake, and they don't like

(01:46):
any chance of that being disrupted. And so when President
Trump came out and said he was going to do
teriffs to get China the negotiating table to work on
a better deal for America, all of the guys with
all the billions and billions of dollars that have been
benefiting from this current corrupt system that's been crushing the
middle class. They were all freaking out, and they've got

(02:06):
great friends in the media to help them get their
message out. But listen, President Trump deserves a lot of
credit for this, because it was looking really shaky for
a while. But guess what, China needs us even more
than we need them, right They need our money, they
need access to our markets, and so they're forced to
the table. We're going to get a good deal. Look,
we got ninety days to work something out, but right

(02:28):
now it's looking promising that we force some of the
negotiating tables. So I think this is very good. And
by the way, let's contrast this to what Biden and
Obama we're doing. They bowed to the world. They let
the world dictate to America where our system had to be.
President Trump showing America has some cards to play.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Well, I'm going to tell you right now, with this
negotiation going on, everybody's playing nice at the table to
try to work something out. Because you said it. You know,
they need us more than we need them. Their economy
is just in the toilet right now, and they're laying
people off, as we heard earlier this morning, we're talking
about you know, the unemployment rate for young people in
that country is in double digits, and they've got protests everywhere.

(03:09):
It's a nightmare. So it takes me to the next
step or thought process in that if we work something
out in these nice get together negotiations with China, is
there any chance, any chance that we're going to have
a better relationship with China? Are we going to leave
the tables going all right, we got that worked out,
but we still hate each other.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
No. Look, I don't know, but I think that you know,
they are very wise people, much smarter than me. That
I've always said that the best way to prevent wars
is to practice trade between nations right where goods flow
freely between borders. Troops do not and soldiers do not.
So I think that you know, getting to something sensical
that you know helps the American worker. And actually, you know,

(03:50):
we got to remember this is also an issue of
national security. We rely on these countries for vital products
that we need to run our communication, all these computer chips, right,
they're not mad in America. We got to bring some
of this stuff back home so that we aren't so
vulnerable to the production of the rest of the world.
We shouldn't be leveraged with countries. But I'm optimistic that
we can start working with these people. But we got

(04:12):
to make sure that America's interests aren't her and that
other countries aren't leveraging us and benefiting by taking advantage
of us.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Yeah, no doubt about it. And I agree with you.
We depend on them quite a bit. I mean, I'm
really getting tired of looking at maide in China labels
every time I pick some up. But you know, this
is a long game. Donald Trump plays the long game.
This is int the par three. This is one of
the longest games in golf if you look at it
in golf perspective. He's always thinking, what's it going to
be like a year down the road, two years down

(04:41):
the road, what's it going to be like when I
leave office here? How can we build stability in this
nation that is unmovable, that can't be shaken and can't
be taken away from American people again. So I've got
confidence in what he's done and what he's doing right
now too. With China.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Well, Terry.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Always good to catch up with you, buddy. Thank you
so much.
