Speaker 1 (00:00):
Join us now Todd Sheets, who is the author of
the newsletter on Wealth and Progress, to talk about what's
going on with Donald Trump and the battle he is
getting against him from the Blue Cities. Todd, welcome in,
Thanks for being there. I appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
JT thanks for having me back.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
You know, there was a big event at ole Miss
last night with Erica Kirk and JD Vance, and we
just played one of the segments from last night with
Jade Vance talking about the separation of parties and what
Donald Trump is going through now with trump derangement. Synderman,
it just seems that any Democrat, well let's say every
Democrat for the most part, except John Fetterman. It seems

(00:35):
in the Senate when it comes to Donald Trump, hate him.
That's their mantra at the Democratic Party. Hate Donald Trump.
Use that as your talking point. It's our platform when
we run for office. It's not about substance, it's not
about policies that will help the American people. First thing
out of your mouth is we hate Donald Trump. He's
a Nazi dictator. And how in JD. Van says, are

(00:59):
you you expect to have a good conversation with somebody
that comes in with guns of blazon spewing nails right
out of the gate. Because Donald Trump's in the office
and anybody related to his businesses, his congress, anything, then
you are hated as well. And you look what's going
on around these blue cities and the pushback of law
enforcement doing their job that America voted for him to

(01:22):
do and cleaning it up, making America safe again. And
it's just one thing after another. It's gotten to the
point it's almost laughable. And the Democrats, I think are
really starting to suffer and struggle from this.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah, I think you're exactly right, and this the Hitlerization
of Trump and the Nazification of like you said, anybody
who supports him, you know, is one of the most
extreme examples that we could imagine of them taking this stance.
And I think, you know, they've taken the idea of
Trump coming in, the ICE agents coming in to deport

(01:58):
illegal immigrants, and then federal troops coming in to support
those ICE agents and protect them from local protesters and
that kind of thing. They've tried to fit that into
that hilerization end of democracy narrative, and in doing so,
they've drummed up a lot of frustration. I think among

(02:20):
the protesters. That's where the real violence is coming from
in many of these different cases, and the facts of
the matter just don't support their argument. As I talked
about in the recent substack piece you referenced, you know,
when they went into LA they first went in with
eight hundred troops and then they pushed it up to
forty seven hundred when there was some violence in that

(02:43):
kind of thing, to help protect the buildings and more
importantly to people. And if they were there to try
and execute a hostile takeover of Los Angeles or southern California,
as Gavin Newsom and Elizabeth Bath you know accused him love, well,
then they would have taken over government functions and policing

(03:03):
and that kind of thing. They did not, and when
they and if that didn't occur, you would have seen
the troop counts continue to escalate. And what's happened is
the troop counts have actually dropped off by like ninety
percent now that the tensions have died down a little bit. So, Tom,
let me ask you everything into that narriative.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Let me ask you about what's what we're seeing in
the press and the media and what's getting the most attention.
As I've had this discussion before with a lot of
folks that what gets, you know, the headlines and the
leads on the evening news is sensationalism. If it bleeds,
it leads, if you will. And in this case, the
fifteen to twenty percent of fringe on the left and

(03:46):
the right is not the bulk of what Americans want, believe,
or feel strongly about. The fringe is getting all the attention.
And the fringe right now on the Democrats is Donald
Trump's a communist, He's a hitler, he needs to go.
He's killing democracy. That's the big lead to a threat

(04:07):
to democracy, and that's what's getting the noise. But behind that,
I got to think it's professionally hired noise that the
likes of Obama, Soros, globalists. I don't know where it's
coming from, but the whole thing is, let's feed the
beast of the sensationalistic news and show the country our plan,

(04:32):
our perspective, our design of what Trump is and what
the Democrats really feel. I don't believe that the grassroots
of the Democrat voter is really being represented here. I
think it's amplified by professionals your thoughts on where the
source of all this money is coming in. And more importantly,
why do the likes of these globalists and the big

(04:53):
money soros Is and the Obamas and the deep states
of the world, why do they want to destroy the
United States of America.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah, question, And I think I've written about this before. Also.
I think one of the reasons we are seeing this
extraordinary and extreme, over the top reaction to Trump going
all the way back to the first presidency, is because
there is a part of the left, the far left,
part of the left, that sees this as a potential

(05:23):
regime change. You know, if you go back to the
sixties and work forward. They have basically controlled the social
cultural narrative in America, and it spread from kind of
the radical campus protesters who are right about many things
but wrong about others, And then it spread into the media,
and then it spread into the university system and that

(05:47):
type of thing, and into Hollywood even further, and it
came so that they completely dominated this narrative for the
last fifty sixty years, and it got so bad it
ended up with the cancel culture, where they started shutting
down everybody else. And I think most of the previous
Republican candidates were like afraid to come out and address
this head on. Well, that is not true of Trump.

(06:10):
He's come back and he has hit these issues head on,
and he's trying to change the course of social cultural thinking, commentary,
and dynamics in all of these different institutions. And most importantly,
as you suggested in that, you know, eighty percent of
America that doesn't fall into the far left, and I

(06:33):
think they know that they're in for the fight of
their lives because they're at risk of losing, you know,
the control of all these institutions and this narrative that
has kind of propelled them along.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Well, you know, and when you bring as much big
change as Donald Trump is doing for our country for
the good, you know, big change is always going to
be hit with, you know, pushback, hard and evil and mean.
And I really believe we're in somewhat of a spa
virtual warfare going on here with this country in the
direction that it was going in. But now you look out,

(07:07):
here's somebody that says no more in America. Is like, yeah,
you're right, no more. This craziness, and it is crazy
with some of those policies in their positions well, Todd.
Always good to catch up with you. Todd Sheets, author
of the newsletter. Check it out on wealth and Progress.
Available on substack Todd, Thank you, buddy. We'll have you back.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yep, thank you. Have a good day.
