Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining us now our Fox scores findance Tanya Jaypowers. I
know what's going on with my voice in my mouth today.
My brain and my lips and my teeth and mouth
are not working together. Tan you good morning, welcome, Thanks
thanks for having me on. Maybe I need some of
this gas station stuff they're selling out there. What the
heck is going on here? Gas station Heroin Health officials
are a little scared about this one. I mean, there's
so much garbage available that these fast quick you know,

(00:22):
drive in gas stations anymore, you don't know what you're getting.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Yeah, this is something that the FBA is really concerned about.
They're concerned to the point that they're recommending scheduling this
stuff as a controlled substance by the DEA. That is
the information that the FBA had Doctor Marty McCay came
out with this week. It's called seven oh. And I
want people to understand what this is and the names

(00:45):
it goes by. Seven oh is by definition, an opioid.
It is a synthetic concentrated byproduct of kretum Uhtm is
a plant. It is a tropical tree that's native to
Southeast Asia. Some people use it to self treat different
things like pain, anxiety, depression. To be clear, the FDA

(01:05):
has not approved any prescription or over the counter drug
products containing creatum or seven OH. Creatim is spelled k
R A T O M. And that's important because when
you look at the labels of these things, that may
be one of the words that tips you off as
to the fact that seven oh is in this seven oh.
If you don't hear anything else, I want you to
hear this. Seven OH is short for seven hydroxymatrogeny and

(01:29):
it is thirteen times more potent than morphine. YO.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
WHOA, How does that what kind of product get into
these gas stations? You say it's not FDA approved? Does
that just open the floodgates for you know, as long
as we tell everybody it's not FDA approved, we're allowed
to sell us. How how does it get to the
point where we're just allowing this crap?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Well, that's a good question, and apparently we're not going
to anymore according to the FDA. That's why they want
to make this a scheduled Schedule one drug or a
controlled substance. The let me tell you the ways that
this is being sold so you'll understand if you see it.
You know, if your if your kid has this or whatever,
you'll know what you're looking for when you see it.

(02:11):
It is sold as tablets, gummy drink mixes, shot you
know those little energy shot looking things you see at
the gas station and can Okay, that's the form that
it could also be sold in those little shots. It
may say energy on it. It may say kratum shot,
which is why I want you to know it's spelled
with a K kretum alkaloid gummies they're sold. It's also

(02:32):
sold as hydroxy with an ie. It sold as dietary
supplement that may say any or all of these things
on it. It also may have the word seven hydroxymatrogeny
on the front or on the back. Some of them
actually have that on there. You can actually see what
these labels look like if you go to the FDA's website.
They have a couple of two or three different things

(02:54):
on there to explain what seven OH is and cretum is.
There's a letter that they've sent to these like seven
I think businesses or companies that are marketing and selling
this stuff and telling them to stop in that I know.
In that article, for one, there is a link to
photos that show you pictures of the labels themselves, so

(03:14):
you can kind of get an idea of what this
stuff looks like if you happen to see it, if
if your kid has it, if you know, you'll know
what you're looking for when you see it. But again,
seven oh seven, hydroxematrogeny and create them are the three
things that you know you probably want to look for.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Well, Tanya, very very important discussion this morning. Thank you
for your insight and info on this. And it's almost
like parents need to take their kids on a little
tour of these quick marks and gas stations. Go look,
I'm going to we're walking the aisles. I'm going to
show you the stuff to stay away from, because it
seems more and more of this it's getting through the
cracks and on the shelves and next thing you know,

(03:50):
oh my buddy's taking it. You tried that, you liked
it too, Let me give it some of that. And
kids are going to get in a situation where they're
you know, in hospitals because it's gotten so bad and
people and I'm dying doing this stuff too, so sounds
pretty potent garbage to me. Thank you, Tanya, I appreciate
you this morning. It's seven twenty eight now, Alabama, this
morning news, serious business, kids, grandkids, walk them through these

(04:12):
places and show them this stuff. If it's not water
or gatorade or something, don't be buying these little bottles
of crap. You don't know what you're getting
