Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mackenzie, are you going to you know, you're having Thanksgiving
up in Gadston right with the family. Uh? And is
this that your mom's house or mama's.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
House or mama's house.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Mama's house and mama makes a this is the one
that makes it. But the pumpkin, the pumpkin.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Sports making an extra.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
So got that sweet cream cheese swirled? And come on,
when is that coming?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Dell is It'll be here at the end of next week.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Okay, So when I get back and we all get
back from the holidays, we'll have it pumpkin swirl.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Bro correct, So I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Mama, come on, girl, bring it on. When you guys
sit around the table, uh, do conversations break out and
you're like, Okay, who brought that up? Well? Yeah, why
are we talking about that?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
So we're a house divided in terms of football. I
know better than to bring up Alabama football around my brother,
who is an extreme Auburn fan. Why he will bring
up every single statistic that has ever made Alabama look
bad at the table and then we will get into
an argument.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Not not why is there a fight? But why is
he an Auburn fan?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Well, he loves him. He just yeah, technically I grew
up an Auburn fan. Then went to mama.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, who let you in? Get out? All right, here's
some other things you really don't want to bring up.
Football is one thing you can kind of laugh it
off and move Yeah. But the minute you mentioned oh,
who wants to talk about gun control? Anybody? Sex? Same
sex marriage, anybody? All right, let's talk about Uh, why
don't we talk border patrol? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I don't like my turkey with this out of politics.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
I won't want to.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
I'm good on that.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Here's some other questions the experts are saying, please do
not bring up at the Thanksgiving dinner table unless you
want a big fight and everybody leaves. Of course, I'll
leave a lot of leftovers for somebody. Do you have
a girlfriend?

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Oh that you know what? I was single for five
years before I started dating my boyfriend right now, Yes,
and it would irritate me so bad. You know everything.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
You have a boyfriend, McKenny, Well, what's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Why not? Great question? Great question?

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Have you got anybody in mind? I'm open? All right? Yeah,
So when are you going to lose the holiday pounds?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Talk about an ozimpic Thanksgiving Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Hey, By the way, who'd you vote for?

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I wouldn't ask anybody about I'm good.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Think about this with your friends giving and not just family.
But hey, what'd you do to your hair? Would that
bother you? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:18):
I just, you know, avoid talking about people's physical appearance.
You know you don't have to bring it up.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
How about this one? When do you think you'll go
back to work? If you're between jobs? Why won't you
go to church with us?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I mean, that's not necessarily the worst thing ever. I
wouldn't put that up there with politics or anything. You know.
For some people, though, an invitation is different than pressure.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah, okay, how's your diet going? Look?

Speaker 2 (02:43):
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
I guarantee you I will get asked that by somebody
or maybe more than one at that thanks.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Giving, probably because you've lost so much weight. If the
whim picks up, I think you're gonna blow away.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Well, let me tell you something. On Thanksgiving, all bets
are off past the mac and cheese. You know, I
haven't had mac and cheese since I started my plan,
So you think I'm going to have some of their's
at the table?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (03:08):
On? Uh, when are you getting married? Or when are
you having.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Kids then again, and yeah, don't like it, can't say it.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Can I borrow some money? Honestly, I'll get you paid
back if.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
We're talking money. I mean, look down here this way.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Anything that's ever come up at your table that you know,
anything else that I miss and you probably don't want
to talk.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
About, honestly, just the football scenario. Football that's made so
many arguments break out, and normally it's I'm not provoking
it at all, because let's be honest. I can tell football,
but sports is not my forte you know.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Yeah. So my son in law, Chase, who's married to
my daughter, everybody calls him a big lib all the time.
He's not, but you know he'll lean moderate, and in
a house full of Republican conservative people, you lean moderate.
You're you're lefty, right. I can't think of anything else
besides the obvious politics, sex, and religion.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
And you know politics is normally you know that's very taboo. Thanks.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah, but once again, you know, we're all pretty much
on the same team in our immediate family when we
get together. There are some libs, you know, in the family,
that's for sure.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Well, I think that that's what sparks good conversation, but
it's just brings up the question of do you want
to have that on the holiday.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
No, we've even got to the point in our family texting,
you know group, no politics. Okay, please just don't don't
even bring it up, because you know there's there's some
libs in the family, and you know they get, they
get you know, you know, they just I think it's
a good.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Idea not to Yeah, I agreed.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Like my sister and I, she loves talking politics, but
she's completely on the other end of it. So I
just say, look, here's our here's our thing. Let's not
talk politics. Let's let's talk you know, football and family.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
I have no problem discussing politics if there is healthy
disagreement along the way, not arguing, you know, fastising, you're
just having a good conversation.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Where we can attacking a second, you get.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I'm fine with that. I don't mind talking politics at all,
But like I said, there has to be a healthy
disagreement instead of attacks.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Yeah, all right, seven fifty eight Talabama's morning. You've been warned.
Thanksgiving table discussions, keep them, keep them nice and civil.
