Speaker 1 (00:00):
May know by now. The White House confirmed yesterday that
the United States carried out to more than one strike
on a suspected drug boat in the Caribbean in September,
and Caroline Levitt, our White House spokesperson, says, completely within
the realm of legally doing this. Yes, Pete Haggseth acted accordingly.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
On September. Second Secretary Hegseeth authorized Admiral Bradley to conduct
these kinetic strikes. Admiral Bradley worked well within his authority
and the law directing the engagement to ensure the boat
was destroyed and the threat to the United States of
America was eliminated.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
So why all the controversy, Why are people pushing back
now saying we're going to have a full investigation. Oh,
because somebody's claiming that Pete Haigseth ordered a second attack
to kill the survivors because a couple of folks I
guess made it through the first blast. Joining Usnow for
a little bit more into this. We're O'Neil our correspondent,
Willy welcome in, Thanks for being here.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Hey there, JT. Good morning. And as we heard there
from spokeswoman Levitt, she said that it was really Secretary
Hegseth gave the order to be admiral, and there was
the admiral who ordered that second strike, what they called
a double tap. Members of Congress, Republican and Democrat of
both said that they want to have hearings into this
and figure out whether or not this was by the

(01:13):
book or if any laws were violated.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Well, I got to tell you, in fact, one of
our representatives here in the state of Alabama, Mike Rogers,
is going to be a part of this, leading some
of the charge there with some others. I got to
tell you that if this is something that's preventing the
drugs from coming in here in President Trump's declared war
on the cartels and the drug trafficking happening in our
United States, and this was a defensive move based on

(01:38):
you know, self defense for the American people, then you
know what, if they're criminals and they're part of this activity,
I would think that that's part of what goes on
in these situations and why the big pushback on this,
Why are we trying to protect you know, drug dealers
and drug cartel mules or whatever you want to call
these people. When the boat was clearly designed to delivered

(02:00):
drugs and kill more Americans.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Well, right, Well, the boat was incapable of reaching the
US directly, right, but we believe it was going to
have a stopover and then get here eventually. So one two,
there isn't a declared war. And if this were a
Japanese boat back in World War Two and we had
sunk it, we would have had an obligation to go
in and rescue those Japanese soldiers in the case of

(02:22):
where the ship itself has been destroyed. So there are
a lot of rules of war, rules of engagement that
have to be followed here, and the question as to
whether or not we overstepped our authority, and especially because
there's no declared war. Congress has not declared war in
this case. So just a lot of gray area here.
And you're right in terms of the ends result, maybe

(02:45):
something that is supported that we don't want drugs reaching
American shores, but there are some rules of engagement here.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Well, we'll get through it. I'm sure they'll read the
investigation through and we'll get this thing done.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Here.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
You're either in favor of protecting the United States or
you're not. So if changes need to be made in
that direction, and you know, let's make these changes and
get it going here, all right, switching gears a lot
of people taking the weight loss drugs, and this is
changing a lot of people's lives. There's also other ramifications
and the ripple effect and all this and only good
health reasons to be on the shots for a lot

(03:17):
of folks. But also you know, it's changing kind of
the retail world out there.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
What's going on, it really is, And these drugs are
incredibly popular and as you said, you mentioned injections, Well,
they're rolling out pill forms of these drugs, so imagine
how much more quickly they're going to explode in popularity
as the price of the medication comes way way down.
Already more than twelve percent of the US population is
on these weight loss drugs like wigod and ozembic. That's

(03:45):
more than forty million people, and we're seeing it change
what's on store shelves. Pharmacies are putting out more products
to help people with these drugs who often say they
get indigestion or nause even hair loss. So we're seeing
more those products put on store shelves to treat them. Actually,
even gyms are converting in many ways to become clinics.

(04:08):
As more people on these drugs try to go to
gyms more frequently to tone up. There can be a
lot of you know, flabby skin as a result of
this rapid weight loss, so the people want to tone up.
They actually then almost get consultations at the gym with
other people who are experiencing similar symptoms. Even people go
into thrift stores more saying, well, look, i might be
down to a size thirty eight my pant, but I'm

(04:30):
going to be down to a thirty four soon. I
don't want to spend a whole bunch of money, so
let me just go buy something at the thrift store
to tie me over for a couple of months, right.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
I mean, I'm on the zep bound myself. Took a
shot again last night. I've lost forty pounds with the
help of the shot. And yeah, my cardiologist said, I
asked him, you know, I had some heart you know,
visits with my cardiologists. I said, what about what about
taking the shot? He says, get on it and stay
on it. They're about to approve it for use with

(04:59):
CARDIOVC patients. The FDA is they've already approved it for
type two diabetes. I think that's where all this started
with everybody. And now they've approved it for sleep apnea,
and he said, there's so much benefit for the rest
of the body heart, liver, and lungs and all of
these different areas and kidneys, and not only just weight loss,
but they're starting to see all kinds of you know,

(05:19):
obesity is a problem in this country. Yeah, and you
lose weight, it changes a lot of things physically for
the better with you in all areas. So yeah, I
think it's going to be probably in the water at
some point before we're done with all this. All right, Roy,
thank you, buddy. I appreciate the update.
