Speaker 1 (00:00):
Blocktorse Front on Jonathan Savage joints Now from London. Three
update on what's happening with a return of these hostages.
The dead ones are now starting to come back seven
so far from what I understand, Jonathan, but more to
come still.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Good morning, yeah, good morning. So as a reminder, there
were twenty eight dead hostages in Gaza and they were
all due to be returned to Israel by noon on Monday,
although it seems the text of the agreement acknowledged that
it might be hard to do that in that time
because not all the hostages bodies were readily available due
to the rubble in Gaza. Now, on Monday, four hostages
(00:33):
were returned the bodies, and then yesterday four more coffins
were handed over to Israel. It turns out, according to
the Israeli military, that only three of those were actually
the bodies of Israeli hostages. One did not match any
of the hostages they had record of. This development is
certainly going to inspire anger in Israel. People there already
(00:56):
angry about the slow rate of the release of the
remains of their loved ones and the fact that one
of the bodies turned out to me not a hostage
at all, Will we have great concern?
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, I'm telling you the tricks and the lies and
the deceit that Hamas has pulled before, you know, it
seems to be rearing their ugly heads. And while all
this has been going on, you know, the release of
the live hostages and now the deceased Hamas is still
executing people in the streets in Gaza. You know, if
they come across you and think you've been kind of
(01:28):
siding with Israel, let's shoot you right there on the spot.
So the insanity still continues. And that was part of
the deal that Hamas was not only going to have
to leave Gaza, but also you know, unarmed, put your
weapons down. And a reporter asked President Trump yesterday how
long it would take for Hamas to disarm themselves. Here's
Trump's response.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
I would take Hamas to disarm, and can you guarantee
that it's going to happen disarmed?
Speaker 3 (01:52):
And because they said they were going to disarm, and
if they don't disarm, we will disarm them.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
How you do that?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
I don't have to explain that. But if they don't disarm,
we will disarm them. They know I'm not playing games.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Okay, how are you going to do that? Stupid question?
But he says business. He usually does business. So your
thoughts on where we are with that whole mess of
Hamas not doing what they thought, you know, they would,
or at least what they said they would do, and
moving forward with us now and what the President's remarks there.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yeah, I mean, it's clear that administration officials have indicated
that mass have said one thing bying closed doors and
a different thing to the public, and in public, they
have not said that they would disarmed. They may have
said that during negotiations, but we don't have any public statements
confirming that. Interesting about President Trump, isn't it saying, you know,
we would do it for them essentially? And the question
(02:45):
is does that mean US military troops in Gaza, which
he has always said is not going to happen, Probably
more likely assisting Israel, But of course that could mean
restarting the war, which is something that President Trump obviously
doesn't want to do, but perhaps they're suggest that he's
willing to do so if needed. There's also this this
ongoing talk about what sort of interim security force that
(03:09):
we needed for Gaza, and at the same time, you
are seeing hamas and going back on the streets with
their weapons, trying to reassert control. So there are plenty
of causes for concern one hundred percent. And you're right.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
I don't think the president wants to go back into war.
But you know, if you're going to continue to, you know,
act the way you were before and continue to kill people,
doesn't seem to me anything's changed with your ideology. I'm
not sure it will either long term. All right, buddy,
thank you. It's Jonathan Savage, our Fox correspondent in London.
