Speaker 1 (00:00):
Donald Trump gets another win in the courts after the
circuit court out there, Ninth Circuit Court told him, you
can't do what you did by sending out the National Guard.
You got to get power back to Governor k Newsom
there and then the appeals court out there said at wrong.
Now he has all the authority to do that. So
why is there such a need? And well, the Democrats
like sanctuary cities list, they put up with and tolerate
(00:21):
stuff like this. It's not a big deal to them.
You know, come on, bring it. You remember the other
riots in Seattle and Portland around the country during the
you know, George Floyd era, they took over city halls,
they set fires, and you know, it's just another repeat
of what democrats do. And then what does city leaders
and state leaders allow to happen in their cities. But
(00:42):
you know, there comes a lot of organization and funding
when it gets this big and out of control. And
you think George Soros right out of the gate, sure
he's behind all this, right, Hm, stop depresses, hold my
beer not so fast? Joined us now to talk about this.
Victoria Churchill is here, us political reporter for the Daily Mail,
also a young voice contributor our taxpayer dollars, Victoria.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
What. Yeah, you know, it's totally shocking just the share
amount of money that some of these groups that have
had involvement in the la ICE riots have raised from
taxpayer sources. You know, this is both federal government and
state and local government sources as well. One group in
particular that I wrote about this week at the Daily
(01:23):
Mail was the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights. Their acronym
is cchi R LA if any of your listeners have
seen that one floating around. But you know, this is
this is interesting. So the group most recently was slated
to receive four hundred and fifty thousand dollars from the
Department of Homeland Security DHS from their sub agency on
(01:46):
Citizenship and Immigration Services. And these funds were earmarked for
citizenship instruction and naturalization services. And you know, thankfully the
DHS under President Trump and Secretary Nome had actually rescinded
the remainder of that contract of one hundred thousand dollars
(02:06):
because these contracts have been signed of course under the
Biden administration, and kind of before that, the group had
actually gotten money from the Biden administration in twenty twenty
one and twenty twenty two of two hundred grands of
two hundred and fifty thousand dollars a pop. So it
was almost a million dollars of taxpayer funds from the
federal government had gone to this group.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
You know, misappropriation of funds happens on a local, state,
and national level all the time in government. Oh, we'll
put the money over here for this. Well oh but
now let's let's take some of that money and now
use it for that. And when you've got democratic liberal
leadership like they've got there, oh well, let's just grab
some of that money from that pile and fund what
(02:46):
we want to do here. So yeah, I'm glad they
jumped on this and saw this and another one of
the great doze you know findings, and now the sentence
potential role in stopping future misappropriation certainly front and center.
What can we do moving forward.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Well, you know, the Trump administration is really trying to
do their best, I believe, to work with the House
and the Senate, you know, primarily in my Roal Daily Mail,
I cover Capitol Hill again primarily looking at the Senate side,
and there's really some interesting things going on. There's of course,
what the President and his allies are referring to as
the big Beautiful Bill, which is you know, going to
(03:23):
be the government funding package. But there's also something that
is being talked about a little bit less, which just
passed the House yesterday. It was a package of recisions.
So this was money that had been allocated by Congress
previously to be spent by the executive branch. And then
some of the key figures in the Trump administration, like
with Vote, who's his omb director, who you know has
(03:43):
a hand in just about everything fiscal that the executive
branch does. He kind of identified and you know, I'm
sure of course working with Musk and Doge and some
of those groups as well. Monies that Congress had given
the federal government to spend that the Feds are actually
now deciding they don't want to spend that. So that's
currently working its way through the House. Because this is
kind of part of this tension, you know, when we
(04:04):
talk about things like Doge, is that even if the
administration is doing the best in their intent, Congress still
has the power of the purse in Washington, and so
they're kind of trying to iron out all those details.
Of course, to see how that's going to be moving forward.
But you know, I think the things are definitely trending
in the right direction if you believe in you know,
smaller government, limited government, and actually making sure that tax
(04:28):
pray dollars get taken care of.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
It looks like we're going to have some more of
these activating protests and activism going on across the country
this weekend, No King's Day and retaliation of the President's
you know, patriotic parade to celebrate the two hundred and
fifty of the anniversary of the United States Army
