much you tuning in listening to the Uncle Henry's Show.
Thank you. And once again it's just me and you here,
me and you together trying to figure out what on
(01:35):
earth is going on? Is what is going on in
the world around us. It's more incomprehensible every day now.
On the show today, numerous things I want to get to.
I've got I got news items like the mayoral forum
(01:58):
that happened to Mobile last night. We'll get into that that.
I've got some some voicemails on national issues. And I've
got an update on the honking issue that involves my marriage. Yes,
I have another marital honking incident to report. All of
this and more on the Uncle Henry Show. If you'd
(02:19):
like to join the show, you can. If you would
like to steer the conversation into a different direction, maybe
you've got a recipe you want to share. Two five
to one for seven nine two seven two three. The
telephone number that's two five to one four seventy nine
two seven two three, email address Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia
dot com. Before I get to any of my topics
or messages or anything like that. I do have somebody
(02:41):
that called if they were ringing the phone before the
show started.
Speaker 6 (02:46):
Hello color, Hello logo, Henry's the Alabama Bushog. How are
you Today's.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Dam good Alabama bush Hog? What is on your mind
on this Wednesday?
Speaker 6 (02:57):
Well, you spoke about some Mary oral form last night. Yeah,
And I don't understand why none of the local TV
stations or anybody bright cast the thing live. If you
didn't make it to the forum, you didn't get to
see the whole thing, you know.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Well, Well, I believe Fox ten is going to do one.
I don't know if it's next week or I forgot
the date, but I believe Fox ten is going to
have a live on the TV Forum that you'll be
able to watch as it.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
Happens, oh on their next forum.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Right, one of the upcoming forums is going to be
on Fox ten. If if I understand my memories correctly.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
Okay, good, good, Well, since there was none present last night,
yours truly showed up with my gear and I recorded it.
I like streamed the whole thing from the new Silo
Missionary Baptist charch on Onso Road.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Oh you did?
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Where?
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Where can people watch this? Tell people where if they
want to watch? Is your stuff available? Can we watch it?
Speaker 6 (04:06):
Absolutely, Uncle Henry. All you gotta do is go on
Facebook and look up mobile.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Pirate Radio, Mobile Pirate Radio.
Speaker 6 (04:16):
Yes, sir, I live streamed it, and I got so
many calls and so many comments about thank you so
much for doing this? Is I didn't get to make it,
Uncle Henry. It was a packed house. It was so packed.
They were handing out those little fans for you to
band yourself.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Well, I'm glad to hear that. I'm glad. And Fox
ten did report that it was The parking lot was full.
There were a lot of people there. Did anybody do better?
Did anybody outshine the other?
Speaker 6 (04:47):
Well, Uncle Henry, this is just my humble opinion, Sir,
I don't mean to bass on anyone, Okay, right, Most
of these candidates sounded polished. They sounded like they had
you know, the typical politician, replies Stock answers. There was
only one candidate that really stood out to me and
(05:07):
most of the crowd, I believe if you watched the video.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Okay, well, Paul Frank Okay.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
Paul Prying answered, like Donald Trump does. He just spoke
to the people. He just said what was on his
mind and in his heart, and it reverberated to the
whole place. Last night.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Oh, it reverberated. There was a reverberation in the church. Okay, yes, sir,
yes here.
Speaker 6 (05:34):
I was a part of it, and I'm proud to
be and I'll also be there whenever they do this
again next week. I'll be right there beside Channel ten
if they got any room for them.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
All right, So, if we go to Mobile Pirate Radio
on Facebook, we can watch the forum and as will
we possibly can we determine can we observe by watching
the reverberations happening or is that more of a personal experience.
Speaker 6 (05:59):
Well, if you wait for the very end, when they
all get the closing statements and remarks, about why they
should be married. Paul Prime was the last, and everyone
around me was standing clapping and hooping and hollering and
almost brought the house down. It was awesome.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
All right, well bush yes, I.
Speaker 6 (06:18):
Believe it's time prime time in Mobilehill.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
All right, well we will all find out next month.
Bush Hog. Thank you. I appreciate you telling us where
we can watch it.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
Absolutely so, it is my pleasure. You have a wonderful
show in roll.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Tide, Roll tad Row. There he goes the Alabama bush Hog.
Well that is what would you call that? Citizen advocacy journalism?
I don't know what you would call it, but uh,
the bush hog going to the forum and uh telling
us that there was a reverberation for a candidate. All right, well,
(06:57):
I guess that's if I guess if you're a candidate,
you want to have some kind of effect other than
people getting ill or irritated. So I guess a reverberation
would be would be just fine if you're a candidate. Now,
I'm sure that a person's own perspective and personal biases
(07:20):
might play in the whether they reverberate or not with
something that they're listening to. I'm guessing, But anyway, thank
you to the bush Hog. I may check that out
later if I have any trouble falling to sleep or
anything tonight, I'm going to head on over on Facebook
to Alabama bush Hog's Mobile Pirate Radio now coming up
(07:40):
more on this because I read about what some of
the things discussed at the forum and what popular topics were,
and I'll have a little bit more on that as
the show continues, and as I mentioned, other things to
get into here on news Radio seven to ten wntm's
Uncle Henry's Show. Before we go into a break on
the Uncle Henry Show, I want to remind you again
(08:05):
that we are we're directing people that if you want
to help these people out in Texas, if you are
looking or somewhere to donate money, We've identified local charities
out there in the Texas Hill Country that are providing
flood relief. You know that still people missing out there.
(08:28):
If you are wanting to donate to the flood relief
out there, you can donate to the Kirk County Flood
Relief Fund, where the money will go to local organizations.
At the website community foundation dot net that is Community
Foundation dot net to donate to the Kirk County flood
Relief Fund. Back with more Uncle Henry Show After the break,
(09:15):
Uncle Henry Show, News Radio seven to ten WNTM. It's
five twenty news headlines coming up in ten minutes from
Fox ten and Fox Radio National News.
Speaker 8 (09:32):
Now.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
The first segment of the show, we had the Alabama
bushg call in. He said that he was at the
mayoral forum held last night in Mobile and then you
can watch it on his Facebook page, the Mobile Pirate
Radio Facebook page. Here is the report that Fox ten's
Claudia Nichols did on what happened at the forum. Here
(09:54):
is Claudia Nichols reporting on the mayoral forum from last night.
Speaker 9 (09:59):
The parking lot outside the church filled up quickly and
people had to start parking along the street. With the
election next month, a few say they're encouraged by the
size of the crowd.
Speaker 10 (10:10):
Look at the turnout here. This is amazing, you know,
especially for midterms. I just hope we can elect some
people who are really are dedicated to doing now.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
I don't know what the lady means by the turnout
is incredible, especially for the midterms. I don't know that
we have municipal midterms do we for the work?
Speaker 9 (10:28):
Tonight, people sat shoulder to shoulder and pews that new
shy little Missionary Baptist church for candidates hoping to be
Mobile's next mayor made their case to voters. The candidates
include Spiro Cherigoddess, Barbara Drummond, Connie Hudson, and Paul Prime.
While some people say they've already made up their mind
who they're voting for, others tell us they're still deciding.
(10:51):
A few attendees say this is an important election and
voting for mayors should be taken seriously.
Speaker 10 (10:57):
It's our civic duty to know who the candidates are,
to know what the issues are, to know how we
feel about the issues and how they impact us, and
then do something about it.
Speaker 8 (11:08):
It's important to vote because I mean, that's your future,
my future, and your voice matters. And a lot of
people they don't pay attention, or younger people they don't
pay attention to what's going on around here. But you
have a voice and you can use it.
Speaker 9 (11:20):
Hundreds of yard signs and a parking lot full of
cars outside of this church show support for each of
the candidates. And some of these issues are the same
ones people are saying they hope the next mayor will address.
Speaker 10 (11:32):
And I'd like to see education improve, definitely. Education.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
All right, now, look, I'm sorry, I've got to pause there. Now,
I understand. I agree that education is very important, and
it's any town needs good education for a variety of reasons.
That was the first thing out of this lady's mouth. Education.
But this is the mayor the mayor's race in Mobile.
(11:59):
Now we just heard citizens saying it's we need to
be paying attention. We need to be paying attention and
and know the issues and know the candidates and show
up and vote. Future depends on we need to pay attention. Well,
it's a mayor's race. This is not This is not
where you're going to affect education a lot. Now, We've
(12:22):
got we got enough on our hands. The City of
Mobile has enough on its hands without trying to also
dabble in the education thing. Now, this is this is
a personal opinion time.
Speaker 11 (12:35):
Personal opinion time, Personal opinion time, personal opinion time.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
Now, all what what could the city do other than
give money, give uh city tax dollars over to different
educational entities to try and do something I would not
be in favor of this. Again, personal opinion time. The
reason is, we we already pay taxes for county schools,
(13:02):
and we do have politicians that are supposed to handle education.
They're called a school board that if you have an
issue with local education, you might start with the school
board and work there. And I don't know that they
need our City of Mobile money. I would be very
(13:24):
opposed to us investing a bunch of city tax dollars
into local education because the Mobile County Public school System
must they must be rolling in dow. And the reason
I say that is did not didn't they recently buy
Ladd Stadium, which the City of Mobile was desperate to
get rid of, just the costs of maintaining and trying
(13:48):
to figure out what to do with Ladds dam. The
city just was desperate to get rid of it. And
if you're if you're a school system and you're in
and money on football stadiums, which they're also built a
bunch of them recently. If you've got money to dump
(14:08):
into a bunch of football stadiums, you've got to be
rolling in dough and don't need no more money. You
got all the money you need. If you can build
a bunch of stadiums on school campuses and then say hey,
let's buy lad You must have won the Dad Dumb
lottery and didn't tell us. So anyway, I agree education
very important. It is a quality of life issue. It
(14:31):
is a work for you. I mean, you want to
have a great workforce. I mean it's there's there's so
many things that are tied into education. It's very important.
But not with the City of Mobile. We got enough
on our hands. The City of Mobile has gotten itself
involved in numerous big ticket projects like this new arena. Uh,
and they still the city. The city still has lots
(14:51):
and lots of unfunded liabilities with city properties that need
to be repaired and infrastructure that was not repaired or
maintained for many many terms of previous mayors that still
have to be taken into account and repaired and maintained.
So and we the last thing the City of Mobile
should do is form their own city school system. So uh.
(15:15):
I appreciate people saying education should be a big topic.
Take it to your school, but do you know who
your school board representative is? Have you been to one
of them meetings? Find out what's going on out there? Prohabs.
I apologize, listener, It just irritated me to see and
I saw the land Yap story on this. The headline
(15:36):
on the land yapp story is crime, education, crime Comma.
Education takes center state again. Education a very important issue,
but not for not for the mayor's race. I'm sorry.
Just should not be other other things to worry about.
Maintaining the fiscal the fiscal viability of this town improving.
(16:02):
They say crime is down, but I think we would
all like to perceive less of it if we could
public safety, keeping the finances going right, and we have
all these major projects lifting off at the same time
that we still have infrastructure that needs attention. You could
(16:22):
just fixing drainage alone would take gazillions of dollars. So
please take your educational concerns too, your school board and
your state school board. All right, let me see, let
me play the rest of this.
Speaker 10 (16:39):
Especially elementary and middle and high school.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
And Lord have mercy, the streets.
Speaker 10 (16:46):
And crime and these houses that need to be restored
that you are just falling in. We have one near
our house. And just equality, there's just so.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Many equality we should maybe we can finally figure that out.
Speaker 8 (17:02):
Issues.
Speaker 10 (17:03):
I think this is a really important election. Most of
them know the crime is an issue, and hopefully they'll
address it in a proper way.
Speaker 8 (17:11):
Big Greek late. I want the lake open, honestly, I
want to swim.
Speaker 9 (17:16):
Well, if you haven't registered to vote yet, don't worry.
You still have some time. The deadline is August eleventh,
and the election for mayor is coming up on August
twenty six.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
All right, there is more to come, Yes, there is
more Uncle Henry's Show, but first traffic and news updates
for you, news headlines on the way, and then back
with more Uncle Henry's Show here on News Radio seventy ten.
(18:01):
It says, the Uncle Henry Show here on News Radio
seven ten WNTM. Telephone number two five one four seven
nine two seven two three. That's two five one four
seven nine two seven two three. Email address Uncle Henry
at iHeartMedia dot com. That's Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot com.
(18:24):
So I've got some callers waiting, So before I get
to any other topics that I wanted to address with you,
let me talk to the beautiful listeners of the Uncle
Henry Show.
Speaker 11 (18:35):
Hello caller, Hey, Obra Henry, how.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
You snake trapper? You are live on the radio.
Speaker 11 (18:42):
Uncle Henry the snake tax activity is alive and well
and with mobile.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Brother, Oh what happened?
Speaker 11 (18:50):
I got a picture about two thirty of lady Lickview
or someplake I'm sorry, which across the from us doing
some patio clean clean out or patio furniture and stuff.
And I pulled a cushion back over Henry to a
by the four foot corn snake people. Some people call
(19:12):
them red rat snakes, Uncle Henry, but their corn snakes
what they are? They're not known as biders, non venomous,
a very calm snake, and them actually make decent pets.
And one big enough is a very edible snake.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
Now why no, I'm sorry to interrupt already, but why
would someone want a corn snake as a pet? What
would you can't walk at or nothing? What would you
do with it?
Speaker 11 (19:40):
Where you can take them out and play with them
or wear them run your neck over?
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Henry?
Speaker 11 (19:44):
Like you said, they are very calm snakes and you
know they will not bite you. I'm sure if you've
got one aggravated enough to bite you.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
But what does that mean when you say play with it?
What does that mean? It doesn't fetch? Does it?
Speaker 12 (19:58):
No?
Speaker 11 (19:58):
I don't fetch. You could say, there and wrap it
around your neck and walk in a grocery store and
when the uh, the grocery store attended, seize it around
your neck. You know, she'll able to freak out or something.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
All right, So it's a prop. You can use it
as a prop to amuse yourself.
Speaker 11 (20:14):
Yes, they'll really make good prompts and people will hurt theirself. Uh,
you know when they realize that it's a snake that
close to her. But people don't realize also, Henry, just
walking through the woods. They have no idea how close
they actually come to snakes. Uh. You know, anybody walking
through the woods, you know, it wouldn't be surprised if
(20:34):
you come within three feet of one and just never
knew it.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (20:37):
You know, they just blend right in with their environment,
most of them do.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
That is true. That is true.
Speaker 11 (20:44):
But yeah, Henry, it had like to scare her to death.
But the uh, you know, I could tell exactly what
it was from the picture, and I insured her that
it was fine and you know, didn't have to worry
about it biting or nothing. And she was just basically
trying to get it out from under her cushion. Now
I had chilled sat in that chair and then that
thing crawled out on her lap. You probably we'd had
a heart attack or something. But uh yeah, man. One
(21:06):
good thing about it over here also too, the temperature
is starting the heat up, so they are looking for
cooler spots to get into. And I imagine that on
that patio under that lawn furniture with a singling van
over you know, it's probably staying pretty.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
Cool, all right, So we need to be on we
need to be aware of this anytime we're moving things
around in the yard.
Speaker 11 (21:28):
Uh yes, they're and you know, probably a ninety percent
chance that it'll be a non venomous snake on Henry
because you know rattlesnakes and you know they like to
get under debris, as copperheads also do. In your water
moosns you know they hang around swamps, creeks and lakes.
You know, its edges are there also too. I'd like
to I like to wish Baba big Man a big
(21:51):
old happy birthday Uncle. It's his birthday today and I
hope he's having a wonderful and meet.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
A happy birthday to Baba big Man. A big fan
of the uncle in show has been listening for years
and years. Happy birthday to Bamba big Man. Thank you
for mentioning that.
Speaker 11 (22:06):
Yes, sir over Henry, you have a good day, my.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
Boy to stay treppor thank you for your phone call. Yes, sir,
there he goes.
Speaker 8 (22:14):
Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
Happy birthday, Bama big Man.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Happy birthday to you.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Very very good. I hope Bamba big Man has many,
many of the birthdays. Uncle Henry show proceeding forward two
five one four seven nine two seven two three. That's
two five to one, four seven nine, two seven two three.
Email address, Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot com. Uncle Henry
at iHeartMedia dot com. Now let me go to the
voicemail inbox. I got a voicemail about about what is
(22:56):
going on or not going on with all all of
this Epstein stuff. Let's listen together to this message phoned
into the show.
Speaker 12 (23:06):
Uncle Henry ld. Well, well, well, it looks like the
Republicans don't want to be in power because they lied
and they lied and they lied to get elected. And
then when it's time to come up with the evidence
on the Epstein, they're dead silent. They are dead silent. Man,
(23:29):
oh man, This stinks, dude, I haven't band is a stink.
You know, they just put the Democrats back in power.
All this tough talk, all this tough talk by Trump. Oh,
I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do that. We're gonna
get to the end of this Epstein file cricket seconds.
(23:50):
You know what if you did that, if you got
on that plane and you just the average Uncle Henry,
you better believe your name would be out there. But
if you are a say maybe a Trump, maybe a
of God, you name it. You ain't every rich person,
Bill Clinton, the uh you name it, the Ray God,
(24:14):
don't you.
Speaker 11 (24:15):
Just name it.
Speaker 12 (24:16):
Those people were on that flight and they were enjoying
those young girls, and now they've all got together and say,
we can't do this, man, we can't let this cat
out of the bag. You know what, the American people
deserve better. We are being bamboozled by the Republican Party.
And just like George Wallin said, Uncle Henry, there's not
(24:37):
a damn dime spen a difference between a Democrat and
a Republican.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
All right, there he goes ld the mad trucker. You
can hear the mad there, and the mad trucker. A
lot of people upset about it, that's for sure. But
l D, I'm sure you've already I'm sure most people
listening have already figured if you've done any looking into
it at all, if you just if you just looked
at the basic details about Epstein's life, who he was,
(25:07):
who he was around, who he worked with, the type
of jobs he had when he was when he was young,
and and and moved up in adulthood, Uh, it looks
very much like he worked for the c I A.
I mean, it just looked. It looks like that, or
if not for them right next to him, right adjacent
(25:29):
to him. So are they gonna? Are they gonna spill
the beans? I mean, it's we still don't know what
happened with JFK, and it's and it's been what sixty years,
You think they're gonna Do you think they're gonna spill
the beans? Now? Now? I agree though it does hurt.
(25:52):
It does hurt the Trump administration. It looks the It
makes the Attorney General look pretty bad after her making
promises and then having to say, well, well I guess
there was nothing there. So it does it does hurt.
I don't think we've heard the end of it, though,
because President Trump always seems to pull a rabbit out
(26:14):
of his hat here or there, so hoping that a
rabbit will be pulled out of a hat, or better said,
a hope a file or two is pulled out of
the hat and revealed so that there can be some
form of transparency. But unfortunately, I hate to be cynical,
but at this point, I have no expectations of justice
(26:37):
for just about anything that the federal government is up to,
whether it's the Epstein thing we've heard, the the the
allegations that the former see the former SIED director Brennan
and former FBI Director Comie or under some kind of investigation.
(26:57):
I have no x have no expectator of justice for
any of that anything with the federal government. But LD
I hear you loud and clear on this and a
lot of people, a lot of people have upseaid about it.
The way you are more to come the Uncle Henry
(27:19):
Show proceeding forward. If you want to listen to previous
episodes of the show, they are available at NewsRadio seven
ten dot com or on the iHeartRadio app. Look for
Uncle Henry Show on the iHeartRadio app. Uncle Henry Show
(27:49):
News Radio seven to ten WNTM. It's five point fifty
news headlines coming up in ten minutes. I got married
back in April, and I told you the listener that
we had our first argument about honking the car horn,
where my wife told me there was never a good
(28:11):
reason for me to honk my car horn. Ever, a
few weeks went by and then she had to honk
her horn and said, okay, sometimes it's okay. Well, now
today there's a new chapter in this. My wife today
was driving and somebody honked at her and it triggered
(28:33):
her and she's called She's left me a voicemail.
Speaker 7 (28:38):
Could ask me Uncle Henry.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
And yes, my wife does call me Uncle Henry. That
was part of the prenup.
Speaker 7 (28:44):
I had to travel across town today and I doe
Mina Crowns Town. It's a little bit of a story
if you have just a second, just a little bit.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
It's a little.
Speaker 7 (28:56):
Complicated, but it's about honking. I'm still trying to calm down,
and I'm really upset that they're no longer those hemp
drinks because I need one anyway. I'm on Cottage Hill
towards Dows. I've packed a lunch I'm ready to give.
I have a hair appointment to get my grades overwards covered.
(29:21):
So I'm on my way, left an hour early, just
checking along, trying not to cause any trouble my car.
This is another side nack my vehicle. She's sick and
she's at the dealership right and looked at and running
up quite a tab at the moment. I'm a little
(29:41):
panicked about that, which is again why I need a
hemp drink. Well, anyway, I'm at the lights. I'm in
your luxury vehicle that the air conditioner has gone out in.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
Yes, she's in my car and that the AC is broken.
I'll get it fixed one day.
Speaker 7 (30:00):
So I have all the windows down because it's quite
warm today and I have a tendency to drive. But
I have a tendency to do that. Girl drive you
know where you have your foot on?
Speaker 3 (30:13):
By the way, I don't know what I don't know
about special positions for the feet of women as they drive.
I've never heard this before. This is new.
Speaker 7 (30:22):
Your left foot on the floor, but yet it's really
close to the brake, and your right foot is sort
of twisted from the accelerator onto the side just the
tippy tip of the right side of the brake, so
you both feet are basically in tippy tomation toward each
other and can either go either wait any moment, Well, anyway,
(30:47):
horns started honking for some reason, I.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
Have horns started honking for some reason, no idea, lie.
Speaker 7 (30:54):
We could not go anywhere, and my foot automatically went
to try to ease a to the accelerator of thinking
that maybe I was causing a problem. This is why
I got scared. So this is one reason why I
guess honk. Honking can scare people, all.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
Right, So now now we're back to anti honking because
someone has honked at my wife, And now honking is
bad because it can cause Honking can cause fear.
Speaker 7 (31:27):
Maybe that's the problem. If I had maybe high blood pressure,
which I don't or a heart condition, which I don't
think I did, it could be It could be detriment,
it could be harmful. It's not just a matter of
being you know you're not on time. It could literally
kill someone next to you.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
Honking could kill. Now we've gone from honking is rude
a few weeks ago honking was rude. Now honking could
kill people.
Speaker 7 (31:56):
Just to be for thought, I know you're gonna get
a lot of calls about this, and iologize. I apologize.
I just have opinions, and we all have opinions, and
God bless us where they're all different. It's wonderful, isn't it.
That's all I'm gonna say. It's wonderful. And you can
have yours if I can have mine. God bless y'all.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Bye, all right, thank you, Thank you to my wife
for calling the Uncle Andrew Show and leaving a voicemail
about how honking can kill. All right, and I am,
I am I offering different treatment to this caller because
I'm married to the caller. Yes, I am, Yes, there's
I'm I'm going to I'm going to take these comments
(32:40):
under advisement, and I'm going to ponder them instead of
instead of an instant reaction. I'm just I'm just gonna
ponder these comments. Now. Now, honking the horn is not
only rude, it is potentially potentially I don't know, maybe
not homicide, but maybe manslaughter according to my wife. And
again I realized that I am I'm giving a response
(33:05):
that is measured due to matrimony. Measured due to matrimony.
All right, Just about out of time in this hour
of Uncle Henry's Show, but there is more Uncle Henry
Show coming up after the news break at the top
of the hour from Fox News. Let's see, there are
(33:26):
some news items that I haven't had a chance to
get to that I want to try to get to
in the next hour of show, the next half hour
of the show. I know that the Lieutenant Governor was
in Mobile. I don't know exactly what that was about,
so I'm going to try to get into that and
learn about that. I've also got some voicemails that have
(33:48):
stacked up that might go stale if I don't play them.
So I've got all that and more coming up after
the news break here on News Radio seventy ten. You
TM and please think before you hunt, it, says the
(34:27):
Uncle Henry Show here on News Radio seventy ten WNTM.
Thank you. I appreciate very much you're listening to the
Uncle Henry Show. Now in this half hour of show,
I'm going to get to some news items that I
missed initially. Maybe you missed them too, and we can
learn together about these news items that may be some
(34:50):
voicemail will find out together. As the half hour unfolds
what the half hour will bring us here on the
Uncle Henry Show. Now, first, let me start off with
the Lieutenant Governor. The Alabama Lieutenant Governor will Ainsworth was
in Mobile, I believe this morning to speak at a
Mobile Chamber event. I'm looking forward to finding out what
(35:13):
he talked about, because, if I understand correctly, I don't
think he's running for anything. I think he's been lieutenant governor,
but he's not going to run for governor against Tommy Tubberville.
I don't think he's running for the US Senate. I
don't know. I don't know that he's running for anything.
Is he? So then what's he going to talk about?
(35:33):
Let's find out together. Here's Fox ten reporting on the
Lieutenant Governor will Ainsworth speaking at the Chamber event today her.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Speaker series this morning, featuring special guest Alabama Lieutenant Governor
will Ainsworth. Fox To News reporter Stephen Moody has more
on his message to business owners all across our area.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
The Mobile Chamber. Welcome to Alabama Lieutenant Williamsworth Wednesday morning,
your dressed businesses in the area, and his love for
the golf coast.
Speaker 13 (36:04):
I think when you look at the you know coast area.
No doubt it's one of the best places to live
in America. You look at just the beauty the people here,
I mean, just the quality of life, and then also
the tremendous industry. You know, it's got the right ingredients
to make it one of the best places to live
in the world.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
Right now, He's got that politician quality of telling you
what you do want to hear. And I like that.
I like when the politicians from upstate visit South Alabama
and say nice, nice things to us. I feel like
we've we've earned that with our tax dollars being sent
up there. Both Mobile and Baldwin Counties generate enormous tax
(36:40):
revenue for the state of Alabama, and we I don't
know that we I don't know that we get a
return on this.
Speaker 7 (36:48):
Now.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
I know we're getting a lot of money for the
dredging thing for the ship channel, but I just that's
just me. Maybe you disagree, but just me. I often
feel like we just don't get a good return on
the money we send to Montgomery from both Mobile and
Baldwin Counties. With all of the money generated down here,
you'd think we'd have a lot better infrastructure paid for
(37:11):
by the state, just based on the money we send
up there. But that's just me. I'm just a little
irritable toward the rest of the state. Yes, with the
exception of football and Tuscaloosa. All right, back to the
news story. We just heard the Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth
complementing the Gulf Coast, which is stuff that you want
(37:31):
to hear. Back to the story.
Speaker 13 (37:34):
You know it's got the right ingredients to make it
one of the best places to live.
Speaker 11 (37:37):
In the world.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Today's forum gave business owners a chance to hear directly
from a state leader, and as he visited Mobile ads
with that praise for Mayor Sandy Simpson.
Speaker 13 (37:45):
I think certainly he's going to be missed. Look forward
to working whoever Mobile elects next as the next mayor,
but certainly Mayor Stimpson, in my opinion, is one of
the best mayors in the US.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Sendate.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
Governor Ainsworth's job includes shaping state policy. Those policies impact infrastructure, education,
and industry growth, and as he prepares to leave office
following this term, he shared what's next while he's still
Lieutenant governor, We're going.
Speaker 13 (38:06):
To continue to work on making us the most military
and veteran friendly. We're continue to make sure every child
in this state has an opportunity at a great education.
That's so important. And then obviously workforce is a passion
right and we want to you know, continue to be
the workforce engine to the Southeast and get people the
proper training where they can have a you know, great
job and make a great salary.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Stephen Moody Fox tend News.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
All right, well, all of that is Knives. I'm glad.
I'm glad he came down here here to sit knives things.
And I just pointed out, with the amount of money
we're spending up there, they be he ought to be
down here all the time. There should be state officials
down here all the time telling us all kind of
wonderful things about us and things they'd like to do
for us. Now, will Ainsworth, that was a big contrast
(38:54):
from from years ago. I'll never forget when we had
the problem with homeowners insurance in South Alabama after hurricanes,
people just were not able to afford their homeowners insurance.
Our lawmakers down here went up to Montgomery and tried
to get help from the state legislature. And I'll never
(39:14):
forget the state lawmaker Lowell Baron of Fife, who just
did he was not going to help South Alabama. Here
is a classic audio clip of low Baron of Fife
in the legislature. I explained, I live four hundred miles
from the coast.
Speaker 6 (39:33):
I don't have to be for your insurance bill, and
I do not have to put it up, and I'm
not gonna put it up.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
All right. What a wonderful guy. Look him up to
see how his political career turned down. Yeah, you live
four hundred miles from the coast. You don't have to
vote for the insurance bill. Well, we on the coast,
four hundred miles away, we wish we didn't have to
send any money up to you. That's what we wish.
We wish we didn't have to send any money up there.
(40:01):
All right, I apologize forgetting I apologize for getting mad
at something that happened just years and years and years ago.
All right, Yes, the Uncle Henry Show. What other news
item can I share with you that I'd missed and
I want to learn about? Here is a Fox ten
story about a woman who lives in a neighborhood not
(40:21):
too far away from Langen Municipal Park. That Monday night,
she had her back door shattered by stray bullets. Now
this is, of course the crime rate we're being told
is down in Mobile, but still the possibility of stray
bullets hitting your house. Here is Fox ten's Natalie Williamson
(40:42):
doing the report for.
Speaker 14 (40:43):
Us last night. I was sitting in my den watching
the news and I heard pop pop pop pop. Got up,
came out to my son room and saw where bullet
had came through my back door. Totally shot. I just
(41:05):
couldn't believe it.
Speaker 15 (41:06):
What started as a normally peaceful night in a Westmobile
neighborhood ended with bullets flying, leaving one home damaged. According
to investigators, officers responded to Woodside Drive East last night
after getting a report of gunfire. That's when they found
a home was hit by bullets. Thankfully, nobody was injured.
(41:28):
Broken glass all around the home and holds from the
gunfire remain in the door. The owner of the home,
Minnie Wingfield, says she's grateful it wasn't worse.
Speaker 14 (41:38):
And then when he hit the when it came through
my door, he hit my base on my table in
my sun room. So I'm just thankful that I wasn't hit,
my dog wasn't hit, or my neighbor next door was hit.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
Amen.
Speaker 15 (41:52):
This video, which is from a nearby security camera, you
can hear what sounds like more than ten shots right now.
Investigators still don't know who fired them or why.
Speaker 14 (42:09):
I think it was probas with kids. Who knows whoever
it was. They had guns, and guns kill people. And
I would appreciate it if you all would stop this.
We gotta stop this.
Speaker 3 (42:23):
Yeah, and you know what, I want to join that, lady,
I would appreciate you if you're I know that no
kid is listening to this unless they're being forced to
as a form of punishment. But if there's a child
listening because they're being punished by an older relative, let's
cut this out. Let's cut out the just random stray
(42:44):
bullets flying. That would be a wonderful, wonderful improvement in
our quality of life to end these stray bullets flying.
All right, Gonna take a time out and then more
Uncle Henry's show after the break. Let's please go ahead
and take the dad gum break, it says d Uncle
(43:23):
Henry Show here on news Radio seventy ten WNTM News
headlines coming up in ten minutes before we get to
the news headlines. Let me see. I've got a few
just random voicemails. Some of them I forgot I had them,
and now they're getting kind of stale. I need to
play some of these. Voice found number two five one
(43:46):
two one six nineteen seventy six. That's two five one
two one six, nineteen seventy six. Now, first one, This
was phoned in yesterday. At this time I was sharing
with you yesterday the story of a mobile man getting
the Exceptional Citizenship Award from Mayor Standy Simpson, the Exceptional
(44:11):
Citizenship award that comes with a medal that they hang
around your neck. The man, the man is a mobilion,
but he came here from Scotland, and he had a
wonderful Scottish accent. And I explained how I enjoyed and
still do, I enjoy the foreign accent. I really do,
as long as it's not involved with customer service. As
(44:33):
long as as it is not involved in a customer
service job. I love foreign accents, and I did. I
got a voicemail about accents.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
Uncle Henry. You know you're talking about the unique accents. Yes,
you should listen to some of the rock Star interviews
of some of the people from the United Kingdom. They're
pretty good and it's not all drugs and sex and
rock and roll that they talked about anyway, just thought
i'd talked to you later to talk to you.
Speaker 3 (45:05):
Thanks, sir, Hey, thank you, sir, Thank you for that suggestion.
If I just want to look for accents, You're right,
there's lots of interviews with these these rock and roll freaks.
In fact, I remember back when the Beatles. I know
that's an ancient reference, but I remember when the Beatles
invaded our country at the beginning of the British invasion,
(45:26):
which which cheapened and and really soiled our music for decades,
still messed up from the Beatles. I did enjoy before,
before I before I realized the damage the Beatles were
going to do to our culture. I enjoyed their interviews
because of their distinct accents and their and their cleverness.
(45:47):
Of course, and you mentioned I can't remember the rock stars.
There have been some rock stars from Great Britain that
I couldn't even understand. I couldn't understand what that were saying.
There have been times when Keith Richards has given interviews
that I couldn't understand or what he was saying. So, sir,
thank you. I will tell I'll take that under advisement
(46:09):
your suggestion. Whenever I feel like I need a good accent,
I'll go to that now. Last week on the Old
Clanary Show, somebody called and said they there was a
man at the Grand Bay exit on Ien from time
to time or one time, the man was holding a sign.
(46:31):
Instead of asking for money or food, the man asked
for beer and people were driving up and giving the
guy cans of beer there at the Grand Bay exit.
I got this voicemail on that topic.
Speaker 5 (46:46):
Uncle Henry, I heard just a few minutes ago where
you were talking about the guy.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
Maybe this is the same guy. All right, this guy,
I'll have to come up with a nickname for him
because he's uh. He had a good suggestion in the
first voicemail. Let's hear what is.
Speaker 5 (47:01):
This I heard just a few minutes ago where you
were talking about the guy or your caller was talking
about the guy in Grand Bay that was asking for beers,
that he needed beers.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
I wonder if somebody can go out there and.
Speaker 5 (47:15):
Do that, and it would work for THC if they
could get some THCHC that way.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
Talk to you later.
Speaker 5 (47:21):
Happy July fourth.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
Hey, thank you for that Happy July fourth. Back to
you several days late. I don't know. I I guess somebody,
if somebody is willing to do something like that on
the side of the road, and maybe they don't have
much to lose. But certain forms of THC I think
are felonies. Some aren't and some are, so it would
(47:45):
be a little riskier, I guess, to ask for THC
on the side of the road. But again, if you're
there with a sign, what do you have to lose?
Voicemail number two five one two one six, nineteen seventy six.
That's two five one two one six nineteen seventy six.
Now here's one that has gone stay. There's a voicemail
that has gone stale due to my lack of attention,
(48:06):
and I apologize for this. This man phoned in when
the Senate was doing their vote rama, and they were
in session all into the night and the early morning hours,
voting over and over again. I do like the man's message.
Speaker 16 (48:20):
Though, well, Uncle Henry, I guess you know. Senate and
all of them were voting tonight, said it's gonna be
a late night, they're gonna be voting there, you know, yes,
and as we know, probably multiple senators, being that it's nighttime,
we'll be voting drunk intoxicated. So they should have to
(48:47):
blow into one of them things, into the breathalyzers before
they're allowed to vote, have it count, and you know,
and not be.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
High or drunk.
Speaker 16 (49:00):
You have a good night, over.
Speaker 3 (49:01):
Henry, sir, thank you for that. I'm sorry I didn't
play that when they were voting, but I'd be in
favor of something like that. And the reason I would
be we've heard reports that there are they do get drunk,
sometimes not all of them or not a lot of them,
but sometimes we've heard reports of this. And I don't
like there being different rules for congressmen versus the regular citizens.
(49:27):
I don't and most of us can't be drunk on
the job. They shouldn't be allowed to do that either,
So I would be in favor of some type of check,
maybe maybe just a weekly blood test where we find
out what they're on so we could all know all
right out of time. Thank you for listening. As they
say in Sara Land, have a good one, and as
(49:49):
they say in Theodore, take it easy.
Speaker 11 (49:53):
All right, later
