Hey, well man, can I work outside today? Roop my
shirt off?
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Press four A message deleted.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
This is the Uncle Henry Show here on news Radio
seven ten WNTM. And now thank you for listening to
The Uncle Henrick Show. Here we are together again, me
and you trying to figure out what is going on
in the world around us. And there's so many things.
There's so much to get to on The Uncle Henry
(01:04):
Show today.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Just about every level.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Neighborhood level, municipal level, rural level, state level, national, federal level, international,
global level, planetary level, universal level, galactic level, spiritual level, multidimensions.
There's just many, many, many levels of conversation we could
(01:32):
get into on The Uncle Henry Show. Now, if you'd
like to join in, if you'd like to bring some
topic up, feel free to do so. You just you
know that this is a show where I prefer there'd
be no filth, no pornography, no discussion of human reproduction
or anything scatological, just nothing filthy. So please don't call
in with filth otherwise. Two five one four seventy nine
(01:52):
two seven two three. The telephone number that's two five
one four seventy nine, two seventy two three email address
Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot com. That's Uncle Henry, I
arm media dot com. As I mentioned so many things
to get into, I want to I want to start
off with something. And when I say many things to
get into, We've got stuff to talk about with Tommy Tuberville,
(02:13):
the state, the state, stuff's going on in Montgomery. First
thing I want to bring up to you is a
story that I saw in Fox ten about I missed
this yesterday. This is about the the Cruise Ship Terminal
parking garage and the suggestion by the outgoing Mayor Standy
(02:35):
Simpson that it might be a good idea to just
tear it down. Now this I was kind of I
was taken aback. I did not realize that we needed
to tear down a parking garage. I've as the as
the years have gone by and I visited downtown, mobile
parking has become more and more valuable to me. I
(02:57):
never used to think parking garages were beautiful until I
needed to park, and then I would love to see
more parking garages. Now this we got this story from
Fox ten. This is a brief story. Listen to this,
because I don't understand something about this.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Listen to this.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
Talks of tearing down and rebuilding the parking garage at
the mobile cruise.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Terminal, tearing it down and rebuilding it.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
The mayor floating that idea today, citing maintenance costs and
long term limitations of the current garage are Brendan Kirby
in the studio. Now, Brendan. The mayor says it all
boils down to how the garage was first built.
Speaker 6 (03:33):
Yeah, that's right, Lenaise. Mayor Sandy Stimpson says the city
is spending an inordinate amount of money maintaining the garage,
which was built in two thousand and four.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Two thousand and four, with a.
Speaker 6 (03:43):
Focus on getting it up fast and keeping costs low.
The mayor says that approach led the faster wear and tear.
The council today approved a contract for nearly four hundred
and twenty nine thousand dollars with Thomas Industries to repair
cracks in the concrete.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Almost half four hundred and something thousand dollars almost half
a million to repair these concrete cracks. You don't want
a garage to have cracks in it.
Speaker 6 (04:06):
Mayor says it's an ongoing issue caused by the garages
pre cast concrete, which is vulnerable to salt air.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Right now. They built it out of something in two
thousand and four, they built it out of something that
that would not do well in salt air. Do we
really do that, City of Mobile?
Speaker 4 (04:29):
We really do that?
Speaker 7 (04:32):
You know?
Speaker 1 (04:32):
I started thinking about this mobile has been near the water.
I think most of its existence. If you look back
through history, I bet you find that mobile was near
the water most of the time. Have we not figured
out how to build things near the water? Have we
not figured that out by now? Now it's not on
(04:53):
the water, right, I mean, anything that is built out
over the water is always you're gonna have problem with.
But we built something. Did we really build something like that?
Something so big that was going to what did he say?
Be vulnerable to salt air?
Speaker 4 (05:17):
All right?
Speaker 1 (05:18):
This just reminds me. You know, you may remember when
Government Plaza was built and we had just problems year
after year after year with it, and the taxpayer loaded
down with all these maintenance costs because whoever was in
charge at the time when it was being built didn't
do their due diligence. And now we got this thing
(05:39):
that they're saying, they're saying that it was built in
a way that now we need to tear it down
twenty years later. I'm just I'm sorry, I just did
we not know in two thousand and four that we
were building a parking garage that.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Would have a problem with Salt.
Speaker 6 (05:59):
Air Mobiles spent about seven hundred thousand dollars on maintenance
over the past eight years or so, and contrary to
some rumors, the garage was not designed to support additional.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Levels, contrary to rumors. So we live in a town
where they, I guess rumors are so people love telling rumors.
People love gossiping in Mobile, Alabama. They love gossipping so
much the gossip about a parking garage. Contrary to rumors
about a parking garage.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Mar Stimpson says that that limits Mobile's ability to attract
a second cruise line. He says the best solution might
be to tear down the garage and build a larger
and more durable structure using cast in place concrete. The
mayor says cruise companies might be open to help fund
the construction if they can share in the parking revenue.
Speaker 8 (06:47):
I believe that today we could have a second cruise
ship if we had the additional parking, and if we
had that edition part, well, a cruise ship would be
a huge you.
Speaker 6 (06:56):
Know, a second cruise ship would be hugely beneficial for
the city. So the same type of construction was used
for the city's garage that's nearing completion at the former
Civic Center site. The mayor says that location could temporarily
handle cruise traffic before the new arena is built, all.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Right, So it would be maybe somebody on the city
council should come up with some new ordinance where where
they proclaim that in the future, we'll try to build
things that aren't vulnerable. As he said to the Salt Air,
it might be just just a little just a little
planning ahead, a little planning ahead, that's all we're asking for.
(07:37):
It reminds me of do you remember when they put
the golf Quest up by the way. I know that's
not the name anymore. Let me refer to it as
the Boondoggle. Do you remember when they put the Boondoggle
up there? I think they were it was rusting before
it opened.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
Do you remember that?
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Do you remember what they had to go in and
do maintenance before it opened. So maybe somebody on the
calsel should come up with some type of ordinance just
to say that before anything is built near the water
for the City of Mobile, that we might look into
making sure that it can handle being near the water.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
That's just just a little suggestion.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
I know I'm not known as one of the bright
ones here on the Gulf Coast, but that's just coming
from me, from a simple man watching the news wondering,
what are you really telling me that we built a
parking garage out of something that could not stand being
near salt water or no, not water, salt air. All right, callers,
(08:40):
if you'd like to talk. I'm taking a break, and
then when I come back, if you would like to
call in with whatever it is here we are together
two five one four seven nine two seven two three
more Uncle Henry Show on the way after this wonderful
commercial break. Uncle Henry Show. News Radio seventy ten WNTM.
(09:12):
It's five twenty news headlines coming up in ten minutes.

Speaker 10 (09:41):
Hey look I'm the uh uh fucking rash Yeah, follow
the money, follow the money. How did they use the
substandard materials? But that's not why I called. I called
because congratulations, and I was so excited that we were
involved and you getting married.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Indeed told the story on the air that the notarizing
of the marriage certificate was done in the office of
Mobile Bay Financial Solutions. John McNeil is a witness there.
You got to meet the bride and you were there
for the wedding. I guess you could say that it
occurred there Mobile Bay Financial Solutions, because that's where all
(10:26):
of the paperwork was finalized and notarized.
Speaker 10 (10:29):
Really exciting, and I had met the bride before. Michelle
isy she is. That'sually a big addition to your joint family. Now,
I mean she is, You're you're a minor person in
the picture. You're a minor person in the family. Michelle's
(10:50):
she's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
We like her, all right, Well right, well, well, thank you,
by the way, and I appreciate that the level of
vocabulary words you were using she's cool. She's she's cool.
Speaker 10 (11:05):
She shows up dressed to the teas and I understand
the wedding day, but still she really is a vibrant
and very gracious. And uh, it's you you wish the
next level.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
I've leveled up, he's leveled up how much?
Speaker 10 (11:28):
How much you did, but you've leveled.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Up well, John, thank you for saying that. Thank you
for recognizing what I already knew. Yes, Uh, she she
is a wonderful edition of the family. And and you're
saying I leveled up or she's leveled down. It's you know,
we just we'll figure this out as we go forward.
Speaker 10 (11:50):
Hopefully I'll have a very wonderful and long relationship and
really enjoyed being part of it.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Thank you, Thank you, Roti, John McNeil, thank.
Speaker 11 (11:59):
You, John McNeil.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Thank you very much, John McNeil. And it was I'm
I'm glad that we didn't have to go and have
strangers notarizing, because we all know how intimate and private
it can be to be notarized, and I didn't want
just to just walk in and throw some money down
and have some stranger notarized. So it's nice to be notarized.
(12:25):
By people that we really cared about. So John McNeil,
thank you very very much for being a part of
that big day in my life. Two five one four
three The telephone number here on the Uncle Henry Show.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Hello caller, Oh glenry ld the mad Trucker.
Speaker 11 (12:41):
How'd your wife's eyeballs?
Speaker 4 (12:44):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (12:45):
We went to the doctor this morning. The doctor says,
the retina. The retina has remained attached, and so she
just has to take it easy. But she she is
recovering her vision slowly.
Speaker 11 (12:57):
Awesome, Awesome. Can I give her some advice?
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Please do.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Look, I would I would tell you this because did
you ever see those cartoons when those magpie thinks that
there were magpiles or whatever, and every time they saw
something that blew their minds, their eyes would pop out
of their head. Yeah, I'm thinking that maybe that's what
happened when she first saw how big your mother was.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
You leave my mother out of this dead dum it?
Speaker 4 (13:22):
How dare you? How dare you use.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
This happy event in my life? This is a this
is the kind of event that.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
You have taken.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
This this this event, this this joining of man and
woman together and holy matrimony, and you've just you've you've
besmirched it. It's terrible the way you just you be
smirched it with this kind of an insult. And look,
I had people in here, I had I had all
kind of people in here last week testifying, uh I
(13:56):
think it was a week ago today, testifying to the fact,
thus rock solid fact, that my mother is of normal
size for her height and weight and her age. According
to insurance industry actuaries. She's absolutely the size that any
normal woman would be under these circumstances.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
So it's disgusting.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
But I'm not you know what, I'm still in a
honeymoon mental state, and so I'm not going to describe
to you the things I'd like to do physically to
punish you for what you've said about my wife. I'm
going to leave it there, but please, in the future
leave my mother and my wife. Leave leave them alone,
(14:41):
and never refer to them under any circumstance that I
can find about. All right, listeners, I apologize for that.
Look you never know, ld can. He shared great wisdom
on the program with his driving advice. He shared incredible
stories of growing up and mobile Alabama, and he's also
(15:02):
been an absolute lout in terms of my family. So
it's look nobody's perfect.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
Hello color.
Speaker 11 (15:13):
Uh, congrats Henry, it is Jimmy the Economist.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
Jimmy, thank you, thank you very much.
Speaker 11 (15:20):
Last time I heard you talk about love with a woman,
you said you were going to be celibate. That's right,
what have you and Michelle? Is Michelle aware your past
relationship with Adrian Street?
Speaker 1 (15:30):
And now come on, that's not a real relationship. That
is not a relationship.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
He attacked me, he attacked.
Speaker 11 (15:38):
It was Adrian believed it was he attacked me.
Speaker 9 (15:43):
Jimmy.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Is Michelle Now she's seen she's seen that video on YouTube.
She knows I was attacked by Adrian Street. She knows
it was we were not we did?
Speaker 7 (15:52):
We did?
Speaker 1 (15:52):
He wouldn't even be able to pick me out of
a line up.
Speaker 11 (15:55):
Well, after all those years, I figured you're celibate because
of your love Asian.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
You're absolutely wrong. I will selling it because it was
the right thing to do.
Speaker 11 (16:05):
Have a great marriage, Henry, all right, I will.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
I am dad gum it, I didn't. I did.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
This is not something that I thought would happen. I
should have, you know, I should have expected the worst. Unfortunately, Look,
I know we're in Mobile, Alabama and the Gulf Coast
a location for hospitality and niceness and people being friendly
and loving one another and getting along even though they
have different politics and things, people still get along and
tolerate each other. But I should have known this is
(16:33):
kind of like national politics, and I shouldn't. I should
have known that the culture in the country has gotten
so filthy and disgusting that people would take the opportunity
that when I had a happy event in my life,
they would zero rite in on it and be nasty
about it. I should have known, And I thought, should
(16:58):
I reveal to the listener? Should I let the listener
know about this? And I really wanted to let the
listener know because I feel I feel closeness to the listener.
I really do, and it's a wonderful closeness because we
can be close and yet never have to see each other,
which is pretty good. You know, some people you don't
(17:20):
want to be around, but I feel close to you.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Nonetheless.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
Obviously, my decision to reveal the truth about my relationship
obviously not handled properly. I should have had a call
screener or something ready here.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
All right, Well, I'm still moving forward, still going to
do the Uncle Henry Show as a married man, going
forward back after the news break, Uncle Henry Show, News
(18:10):
Radio seventy ten w N t M. It is five
thirty five. You'd like to call the show? You can't
two five one four seven nine two seven two three.
That's two five one four seven nine two seven two three.
Email address Uncle Henry, do iHeartMedia dot com. That's Uncle
Henry at iHeartMedia dot Com.
Speaker 7 (18:33):
Hello, caller, hy Uncle Henry. How are you today? This
is Sabrina Mask, Sabrina Mass.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
How have you been?
Speaker 7 (18:42):
Am good?
Speaker 9 (18:42):
I'm good.
Speaker 7 (18:43):
How's everyone doing today?
Speaker 4 (18:45):
Well? Up and down?
Speaker 9 (18:47):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (18:47):
But uh blessed, blessed to still be alive and breathing air.
Speaker 7 (18:53):
That's true. I definitely agree. So, Uncle Henry, you know
I seen your show yesday. Well I looked at it
after it was had aired and everything. But I see
you were also speaking on that the housing development project
that that c J Small and the city had the
groundbreaking on.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
Yes, and so.
Speaker 7 (19:16):
We're we are going to file an injunctive relief against
that really too, Yes, sir, and and if you were noticed,
that's why people have to be wise and know the
law and That's why I wanted to put it on
the record yesterday, well Tuesday, when I spoke If you
(19:37):
remember when I asked him if if they could correct
me if I was wrong? Was it ever on the agenda?
Speaker 12 (19:43):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (19:44):
Of course they never. They didn't correct me.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
Well, I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
I don't know if if the city named it after him,
or the people that that are, the contractor whoever the
builder is, decided to build it after him.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
I don't know how that happened.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
I just as I said on the air now a
couple of times, it's an aluke. I mean the people
are going to go vote in a couple of months.
Speaker 7 (20:09):
Is that not, yes, sir, I mean oh, and I'm
sure it was a part of propaganda, you know, to
put his name out there with the foolery, of course,
but people know the truth now. I would like to
say this. The issue is the injustive relief will be
fouled in the court because anything that the taxpayers money,
(20:30):
federal or state money is used for it has to
go on the city agenda to be to be voted for.
It was never on the agenda. No one ever knew
that this was going to happen. They announced it one
day and had the groundbreaking the next. Because what happened
is they used the ARP money, you know, the money
(20:50):
that came in during the COVID, Right, they're they're using
that federal money to go towards the housing development. But however,
the laws is anything that is used as far as
taxpayer money, federal or state, it has to be on
the agenda to you know, to be accessible and acknowledge
(21:11):
it to the citizens, to the public. They never had
it on the agenda to vote for and nobody knew
anything about this. That's illegal. That is, he's not paying
for it out of his own pocket, right, So you
can't just build whatever you want and use settle, state
and taxpayers money and not put it on the agenda
(21:32):
so that the public can know and so it couldn't
be illegal vote. That was the reason I said, if
I'm wrong, correct me and let me know that I
missed this. Did I miss it? And of course they
know I didn't miss it. So that's why they didn't
answer that question or correct me and say, yes, miss
masters was on the agenda, because it clearly was not.
(21:56):
And that's the reason that we're filing this in jump
to release because they have to now answer. And first
of all, did they even let the federal government under
Secretary of Treasurer, even though that they were going to
build this project, use these funds for that purpose? They
have to still get authorization from the federal government, just
(22:17):
like Ivy. Governor Ivy had to get approval before she
put used the federal funds for the prison. There's a process, okay.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
So you and you believe that that was never that
was never on the agenda, not even it was.
Speaker 7 (22:32):
No, no, sorry, it was not on the agenda.
Speaker 8 (22:34):
That's why.
Speaker 7 (22:35):
Again, when I was at the podium, I asked them
directly if I missed this and if it was on
the agenda, correct me because I may be wrong. And
they did not correct me or even bring it up
about that because it was never on the agenda, okay,
And so I put that on the record because city
council meetings are official records. You have to be smart
(22:59):
when you're playing these games in this chess with.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
These people, Okay.
Speaker 7 (23:04):
So just you know, just to acknowledge it to the public,
anything that's being spent in this city, again from taxpay,
state or federal money, they have to put it on
the agenda to vote on anything, and they and they
didn't vote on it. They just decided we're gonna build this,
(23:26):
we're gonna name it after him, and everybody's gonna just move,
go away. And twenty three units is that's what's the point.
There are thousands and thousands of displaced citizens and twenty
three units. As I said, they said it's affordable housing.
But each unit will cost two hundred thousand dollars. So
(23:46):
who are they catering to? What population? Because they're not
They can't be catering to people that are in poverty
to get a two hundred thousand dollars house.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
Right, Well, this time will.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Tell I guess it will. Will you keep me updated
on what happens when you found that injunction?
Speaker 7 (24:09):
Oh, yes, sir, it'll It'll be fouled and I'll let
you know. And we're we're working on filing that in
the courts to get relief and answers to get it
blocked until we get answers. Okay, that's just the way
it's going to be.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
All right, Hey, uh, now, are you gonna run for office?
Are you gonna run for city council?
Speaker 7 (24:27):
I knew that I knew that question was coming, So
let me say this, if I may, Uncle Henry, I
have decided and declined not to run for that seat.
For the simple fact is I'm working on Chief Crime's
campaign tirelessly. I have devoted my time to his campaign,
(24:48):
and I'm okay with what I'm doing and what I
have decided because as long as I'm using my voice
and whatever I can do to to keep a balance
in this this city, I'm good with that. I'm good
with that, and I have had a conversation with CJ.
Don't get me wrong. Now, I've had a conversation with
everybody on that council and very come to Jesus. I said,
(25:12):
now the next four years, you're gonna either do right
or you're gonna have hell to pay again. I'm gonna
be back, I said, I'm gonna be worse on you
than I was before. So they we've had these conversations.
They know I'm not playing okay, but no, I have.
I have decided not to go for that seat because
I am dedicated on working on Chief Prime campaign. And also,
(25:35):
I'm not sure if you're familiar with Michael Fraser, he's
the one that started the movement for the Creek Project.
And he's a good guy. He's running for a District six,
so I'm gonna be helping him as well with his campaign.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Okay, so all right, well there you go. All right, Well,
keep me updated on these injunctions and things.
Speaker 7 (25:58):
Yes, I surely will. And thank you Aunt Henry again,
and bless everyone that's listening and your viewers.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
All right, hey, thank you very much, Sabrina Mass thank
you very much for calling in and telling me about that.
It's hard to believe that there would be something ground,
you'd break ground on something like that without it being
approved at some point by some legislative bodies. So I'm
(26:26):
looking I'm looking forward to hearing what you find out
when you go in and file this injunction.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
Let's see.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
And yeah, CJ. Small, I'm nothing against CJ. Small at all,
but the idea, as I've explained on the show, the
idea of politicians having stuff named after them while they're
still in the arena of politics irritates me to no
end because it is it is a form of free
(26:54):
advertising in perpetuity. And let's say that somebody builds a
community center or something and then they name it after
you what if at some point that becomes a polling
place or people go in, will go in and vote
(27:15):
in a building that would be named after somebody that
would be on the ballot.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
I mean, how good that? How does it?
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Just?
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Can't you wait to name things after people after they're
out of office? That's all I'm ask And just wait,
wait until the politician leaves public life and then name
something after them. Back with more Uncle Henry's Show After

Bro tired hunh, Uncle, I want to take this time
here At three twenty pm on thirty April two k
twenty five at Momentus Day for Chris from sixty eight
year old Chris from West Locksley. It is my mom's birthday.
Huh at your birthday, mother. I know she's not listening,
(28:51):
but at the birthday regardless. I call her this morning
and wister that.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
Uh, interrupting the voicemail, just say congratulations to sixty old
eight year old Chris, the blessing that your mom is
still around. You're you're sixty eight. Your mom's still around.
God bless That's a wonderful benefit.
Speaker 9 (29:09):
And even better news she got to go home from
the hospital yesterday, so she gets to be back at
the hot end after spending about six weeks in the
therapy hospital because of her broken ankle. Anyhow that and
uh on a on another note, have you seen what
this this bum?
Speaker 6 (29:31):
JD?
Speaker 9 (29:32):
Crow? Yeah? Have you seen the JD.
Speaker 10 (29:38):
Crow thing?
Speaker 9 (29:39):
That's all I'm going to ask about it. I can't
believe he's still around.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
All right, sixty sixty eight, you're old Chris of Weslocksley.
Thank you for your voicemail. I have not seen what
you're talking about. I don't visit that website frequently, so
I have not seen that. And judging on you the
way you've reacted to it, I don't think I'm going
(30:07):
to look because I'm having a pretty good day, so
I don't think I'm going to look today. But sixty
eight year old Chris, thank you and congratulations on your
mother's birthday in the fact that your mom is still
around when you are sixty eight years old. Now, let's
see before I'm at a time, I saw a very
weird news item. This is out of Japan. A woman
(30:33):
was traveling solo. And by the way, that's that's been
a trend over the past few years. A lot of
travel companies and resorts are trying to get women to
travel solo. They think it's an undeveloped market and I
think they can make a lot of money doing this.
But anyway, there was a woman traveling solo. She went
to Japan to do some sight seeing by herself, got
(30:54):
a hotel, went out and did some sight seeing, had
a great time, came back to her hotel room, was
tired from the day of sightseeing, laid down on the bed,
and she noticed a very weird smell in the hotel room.
Yes she know this, lady, all by herself, she noticed
(31:15):
a weird smell in the hotel room, so she tried
to figure out where's this, where's this weird smell coming from?
And she took a look, and she found a man
under her bed. Yes, she found a man under her bed.
(31:36):
Now to to if you're a female listener, if you
were if you went to a hotel and found a
man hiding under the bed, would you ever go to
a hotel anywhere?
Speaker 3 (31:46):
Ever?
Speaker 4 (31:46):
Again, pretty be.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Kind of frightening, especially to be in another country and
all of a sudden there's a man.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
Under the hotel bed.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Anyway, this is all because of a weird smell. She
the man fled. She called the authorities. Uh, they can't
find the guy because the hotel doesn't have security cameras
or anything, so they can't get a good identification of
what he looks like. But the reason I'm bringing this
(32:15):
up because there's a lesson to be learned here. Always
always investigate a stank. If there's a stank, you can't
just let it go. You've got to find out what's
(32:35):
causing the stank. I mean, this is just it's a
universal thing. It's this could have been horrible if she
had just oh, well, there's a weird there's a stank
in this room. I'm just gonna I'm gonna check into
it later. There's no telling book could have happened. Always
find out the cause of the stank. I mean, it's
none of us like a stank. This is nature's way
(32:56):
of warning you when there's a stank. It's nature's way
of warning you about something. So she had a stank.
She checked out the stank and found out it was
a guy.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Who knows.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
She may have saved her life or something by finding
the guy before he did whatever he had planned to do.
So always always find out the source of the stank.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
And also.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
On the flip side of this, if you ever need
to hide for some reason, I don't know, who knows,
maybe ten years from now, if you put something online
that the government doesn't like, the government might come to
get your something. If you ever, if you ever need
to hide, make sure that you use deodorant. Make sure
that you if you can bathe. You don't want you
(33:45):
don't want to be found out because you were careless
about your own personal odor. Just a lot of life
lessons in this story.
Speaker 4 (33:55):
I believe.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
There is more Uncle Henry Show to come after the
news break. We have news coming up and the more
Uncle Henry Show here on News Radio seven ten WNTM.
(34:31):
This says the Uncle Henry Show here on news Radio
seventy ten wnt Thank you for listening. I appreciate it
very very much. Now, this half hour of Uncle Henry
Show going to be talking about some news items. Going
to share some news items with you, and I'll also
share my confusion on said news items, because I've reached
(34:53):
a time in my life where I don't understand a
lot of things. Now, I want to start with one
of my favorite topics. My favorite topics is paving roads,
building new roads. I talked about this yesterday on the
Ulk Lanary Show in this half hour. Yesterday on the show,
I had the story for you about a big road project.
That is that when it's over, you'll be able to
(35:15):
ride on a four lane road between Mobile and Tuscaloosa
Roll Tide Roll. It's already four lanes all the way
up to Thomasville if I if I remember correctly, in
this new project would make it four lane from Thomasville
up to Tuscaloosas. So it just for those of us
that like that drive, and I do. I like that drive.
(35:37):
I love driving up through Creola Mount vernon Macintosh Grove, Hill, Thomasville, Jackson, Alabama.
I just's I find that to be a relaxing drive.
I do. I love making that drive. I told you
yesterday that I had a young relative that went to
Marion Military Institute. Used to drive up there and visit him,
(35:58):
and I'd always wonder driving up there. Driving back, I
always just look at the beauty, the natural beauty of Alabama,
the road side beauty, and I would think to myself.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
Why why do people live up here?
Speaker 3 (36:11):
Now?
Speaker 1 (36:12):
It's beautiful, I understand that, but I would think, I
would think, why are people living up here?
Speaker 4 (36:16):
What do they do?
Speaker 1 (36:17):
How do they survive? Where do they earn money? Do
they earn money? Are they all living off the land?
Speaker 4 (36:23):
Are they just?
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Are they pumping water out of the ground and going
out like Uncle Jed and shooting shooting at varmints and
and getting victils by shooting at varmints. I just I
always wonder, I wonder what people do up here? How
do they survive, where do they where does the income
come from? But anyway, aside from that, there's another bunch
of road projects I want to talk about today. There
(36:46):
was a news release from Governor k Ivy. Now I'm
sure you remember Governor k Ivy.
Speaker 9 (36:54):
But there's no step to high for a high step on.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
No, there's none. You remember her k Ivy. Every now
and again she emerges and releases press releases in thanksful.
Today she put out a press release. Governor k Ivy
announced that more than seven point six million dollars is
being awarded for twenty six road and bridge projects across
the state of Alabama in the first round of funding
(37:19):
under aldot's grant program created by Rebuild Alabama the Rebuild
Alabama Act. Now, this is what locally was mentioned. These
are the seven point six million for twenty six road
in bridge projects. Here's the local the local distribution of
that money. In Chickasaw, the state is going to provide
(37:42):
two hundred and fifty thousand dollars for the resurfacing of
one point zero five miles of road in Chickasaw on Grant,
Short and Rhine Streets, in addition to Twelfth Avenue two
hundred and fifty grand See this is this. I mentioned
(38:03):
that these news items confuse me. I think about how
a local municipality like Chickasaw has to has to beg
the state please help us.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Please help us.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
We got a mile of road we need to pave.
Please help us, Please help us. So two hundred and
fifty thousand dollars coming for Chickasaw to do a mile
of roadway. Now in mobile, two hundred and forty eight
thousand dollars has been awarded to resurface a third of
a mile. Let's see on Brookdale Drive North, Brookdale Drive South,
(38:41):
and Brookdale Drive West. So now Chickasaw is getting two
hundred and fifty grand to resurface a mile of roadway.
In mobile, two hundred and fifty grand will get you
a third of a mile. Now, see, I want to
I need to find a road builder that'll have mercy
(39:01):
on me, and I guess have some compassion and empathy
towards my stupidity and my ignorance. And I'd love to
have a roadbuiller explain to me how these things work.
How is it that you can resurface a mile of
road in Chickasaw for two hundred and fifty grand, but
in mobile the two hundred and fifty grand two hundred
(39:22):
and forty eight grand gets you a third of a mile.
I'm sure, I don't know. I'm sure there's different variations.
I just I don't understand why Chickasaw you get one
mile for two hundred fifty grand and in mobile two
hundred and fifty grand gets you a third of a mile.
But anyway, but that anyway more. In Baldwin County, Governor
(39:43):
Ivy is given three hundred and fifty grand to Locksley Locksley,
Alabama to resurface two point one nine miles of road
of truck Route seventeen from County Road forty nine to
steal wild Ridge Road. So there, Locksley, three hundred and
(40:04):
fifty grand, I'll get you over two miles a road.
In mobile two hundred and forty eight grand gets you
a third of a mile. I don't again, I need
a roadbuilder and listener. Again, I understand I'm the ignorant
person here and I just need to be educated.
Speaker 4 (40:21):
So somebody, if.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
You know a roadbuilder that would have mercy on me
and not treat me like a food and explain all this.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
I'd love that. I'd love to be educated on road building.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
But anyway, I love this. I wish I wish there
were more. I wish that the purse were opened up
even more and that more roads were being resurfaced and
taken care of and built in the state of Alabama. Now,
let's see before I go to break another news item.
(40:51):
The Mobile City Council didn't mention this yesterday, but they're
considering moving some money four hundred and thirty five thousand
dollars to help pay for the cost of preserving the
mosaics from the demolished Mobile Civic Center. Four hundred and
(41:11):
thirty thousand dollars. So let's see, in Mobile, you can
you can get some roads resurfaced a third of a
mile for two hundred and forty eight grand, but preserving
mosaics from the civic center cost four hundred and thirty
thousand dollars. See, I don't understand how this money works
(41:31):
in the government.
Speaker 4 (41:32):
I need.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
I guess I need a lot of help with my ignorance.
Speaker 5 (41:36):
Well, city council members considering a proposal to shift more
than four hundred thirty thousand dollars that would be to
help pay for increased costs of preserving a pair of
historic mosaics from the now demolished Civic Center. Just more
than one hundred and seventy seven thousand dollars would come
from the new parking garage under construction at the Civic
Center site. Another quarter of a million dollars would come
(41:59):
from a marketing budget. The city says mobile will recoup
some of that money. Dirt from the new arena project
would be used for a new fire station on Azila
that would save the city three hundred thousand dollars. These mosaics,
by the way, are currently in the old Expo Hall.
They're going to be moved to the new arena when
it's built, and then to the Expo Hall where it
(42:20):
would be demolished.
Speaker 1 (42:21):
All right, So there again four hundred and thirty grand
to help preserve these mosaics. So I guess, looking on
the bright side of all this, looking on the bright
side of my ignorance on all this, it lee, I'm
glad that we don't pave our streets with mosaics, because then, yes,
if we paved our street with mosaics, then it would
double the cost. Again, if you'll take mercy on me
(42:46):
and educate me, and I appreciate it. The voicemail number
if you want to call me and educate me. The
voicemail number is two five one two one six nineteen
seventy six. That's two five one two one six, nineteen
seventy six, to educate me here on the Uncle Henry Show.
Back with more after the break. Let's take the break.
(43:22):
This is the Uncle Henry Show here on News Radio
seven WNTM. News headlines are coming up in ten minutes.
Before we get there, I want to share some news
items with you. I think it was last week or
the week before, I shared a story with you about
scammers targeting Alabamians and people around the country with this
(43:45):
star id and I wondered aloud on the air to
you the listener. I wondered, aloud on the air, do
scammers ever get caught? I just had never heard of
scammers getting caught. Got a voicemail from Buford on that
topic a day or two after that, where he said
(44:07):
that no, that scammers don't get caught because many of
them are out of the country. Well, I've got another
scammer story. This is from WBrC, a stepsister station to
Fox ten up in Birmingham. They've got a story about
how cyber criminals are costing the state of Alabama or
(44:29):
people in the state of Alabama a ton of money
every year. Let's listen together as they shared the story
with us.
Speaker 4 (44:38):
The number is shocking.
Speaker 12 (44:39):
Reports show that people in Alabama lose about sixty three
million dollars a year to internet scams.
Speaker 1 (44:46):
Sixty three Did you know that we had sixty three
million dollars in Alabama. That's it's encouraging that we've got
enough money that they could scam.
Speaker 12 (44:53):
Us million dollars just in our state. This is everything
from fishing scams to extortion and investment scams. You're a reporter,
Jillian Brooks joining US Live. She's on your side talking
to the FBI.
Speaker 1 (45:05):
You know, by the way, she's on my side. I
don't know about you, but they said she's on my side.
And I appreciate knowing that this reporter is on my
side because I don't. There's some days, h I'm wondering,
is anybody on my side? Thank the Lord, the reporter
is on my side. But again, I don't know about you.
Speaker 12 (45:24):
You're a reporter, Jillian Brooks joining US Live. She's on
your side talking to the FBI, getting important information to
help keep you from becoming a victim.
Speaker 13 (45:33):
Jillian Steve Sarah. In twenty twenty four, the most the
three most common scams that Alabamians fell victim for were extortion,
fishing and spoofing and personal data breaches now the Abbi
Birmingham Division.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
I don't know they have her at the airport? Is
where is she? Sounds like planes are taking Are there
scammers at the airport?
Speaker 5 (45:56):
There?
Speaker 13 (45:56):
Personal data breaches now the Abbi Birmingham Division. Cybercrime continues
to skyrocket, but less and less people are reporting their cybercrimes.
Speaker 6 (46:06):
Now.
Speaker 13 (46:06):
Something sounds too good to be true now it probably
is becoming a victim yourself. Don't click on any links
sent directly to your phone.
Speaker 4 (46:13):
Or em Don't click on links.
Speaker 11 (46:15):
You know.
Speaker 1 (46:15):
This is something I've told listeners for years because I
remember back when the Uncle Henry Show started on WNTM
over twenty years ago, back when electronic mail. Do you
remember when people used electronic mail, they'd send these things
called emails. They'd always send me links. Want me to
click on things? Now I don't. If you send me
(46:38):
something to click on, I ain't clicking on it. I
knew then.
Speaker 4 (46:42):
Now.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
Back then, I didn't think I was going to get scammed.
I just thought I was going to be annoyed. But
there's a benefit to not clicking, and that is you
don't get scammed.
Speaker 13 (46:52):
Email, verify information with a quick Google search, or reach
out to companies directly that are claiming to reach you.
Speaker 8 (46:59):
Nothing what ever, happens at cryptocurrency kiosk. So if you
are asked to go put money in one, and it's
not just you wanting to do that, it's a scam.
Your long lost aunt that you've never heard of and
you never met, they don't exist. You're not inheriting some
money you've.
Speaker 5 (47:16):
Never heard of.
Speaker 1 (47:18):
Now, See they're giving out this advice. What if what
if you did though? What if you do have an
aunt that you didn't know, and what if you did
inherit some money? You just well, but anyway, I just
I don't know how she knows about my aunt or
I don't know. I might there's look a lot of
(47:39):
weird stuff went on in my family. There might be
an aunt out there I don't even know about that.
Speaker 8 (47:44):
They don't exist. You're not inheriting some money you've never
heard of.
Speaker 11 (47:51):
Now.
Speaker 13 (47:51):
If you are a victim of a cyber crime, the
FBI is encouraging you to report your incident through the
Internet Crime Complaint Center otherwise known as IC three.
Speaker 1 (48:02):
Now.
Speaker 13 (48:02):
The center directs victims.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
To the I wonder if anybody is I wonder if
scammers have set up a fake site that mirrors that site.
Speaker 13 (48:10):
Right law enforcement agency, and they also use the data
that you provide to do their investigations. Here reporter live
in Birmingham. I'm Jillian Brooks for wb or C six News.
Speaker 4 (48:19):
On your side, Thank the Lord. She's on our side.
Isn't that nice? On our side? All right?
Speaker 1 (48:25):
Let's sen well, and she's on my side. Maybe she
can help me if I ever do get scammed. All right,
let's see just about out of time here on the
ELK Cleanary Show. Now, if this young woman was on
my side, she'd be downloading the Ulk Cleanary Show podcast
or listening to the Unk Cleanary Show as a podcast
on the iHeartRadio app. I've told you to do that.
(48:46):
I'm telling you again. If you want to hear previous episodes,
like earlier this week I did an episode talking about.
Speaker 4 (48:52):
When I went and got married.
Speaker 1 (48:54):

just weird stuff like that. If you want to listen

iHeartRadio app.

you for listening. I do really, really appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (49:43):
Now more than ever.
Speaker 1 (49:45):

as they say in Theodore, take it easy
Speaker 11 (49:56):
All right later
