and uh, get you a ball cap or something. But
you do. Uh, they working and they doing wonders for me.
You need to get you some magnets and put 'em
inside your ball cap or whatever. And uh, you have
to trust me on this one. Hank worked good. It
opened your life up, opens up doors and things you
(00:26):
can't see to before.

This says the Uncle Henry Show here on News Radio
seven ten WNTM. Thank you so much. I appreciate very
much listening to the Uncle Henry Show here on News
Radio seven ten WNTM. You can also look at it.
If you want to look at live video of an
(01:40):
older man struggling at a microphone, you can see the
video of the Uncle Henry Show live on YouTube. Just
go to YouTube and look for Uncle Henry's show. Here
we are together once again. It's me and you trying
to figure out what is going on in the world
around And if you've got any clue, you can call
me two five one four seven nine two seven three.
(02:00):
That's two five one seven nine two seven two three
email address Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot com. Uncle Henry
at iHeartMedia dot com. Today was a Mobile City Council meeting,
and I watched a bunch of it for you, even
though it was too long. It was over an hour,
which anytime it goes over an hour really too long.
It meets politicians talked too much. But I'll give you
(02:22):
some coverage of the Mobile City Council meeting. And there
are many other things to get into as well as
we have the uh the mayor's race. We bet we
had a debate last night on Fox ten. There was
a debate in the middle of the middle of the
day today streamed I think on the al dot com
YouTube channel. There's going to be another debate I think
(02:42):
tomorrow night on WPMI. So we got the mayor's race,
all that stuff and much much more to talk about
here on the Uncle Henry Show. But before we get
to any of that other stuff, uh, the council meeting.
Mobile City Council meeting. Now today, let's see the pastest
city budget for the next fiscal year. That's a big deal.
Mobile City Council voted to enter a contract with Via
(03:08):
for running the city's buses. Now, if you're there, and
there were people that showed up even though they have
said over and over again they're not making major changes. Still,
people showed up to talk about the buses at the
council meeting today, just so you know, if you're worried
about your bus ride, they're going to keep it as
is for the next nine months and they're going to
(03:29):
have lots of meetings, public meetings and things to discuss
any changes that might occur. But the bus is now
going to be run by VIA. So that was a
big deal at today's meeting. Now, let's see what can
I share with you. I know you want to feel
like you were there without having to actually watch over
an hour of that garbage. So let's see what can
(03:51):
I share with you from today's meeting. Well, citizen activist
Sabrina Mass spoke to the city council. Now she talked.
There were a couple of people up there with her
at the microphone, but they didn't talk. Now, she was
asking about irregularities with the municipal election. Now, I've had
(04:12):
a few people call in and complain to me about
their polling places changing. They felt like they were not
given adequate notice that their polling places were changed. They
felt like they were not able to vote the way
they wanted to do wanted to. Sabrina Mass brought this
up and it got kind of a frustrated, a frustrated
reaction from Mobile City Council President CJ. Small. Let's listen together.
(04:35):
This is very brief. You can watch the City Council
media on YouTube to hear all of the remarks. I
jump in kind of toward the end of what Sabrina
Mass was saying, and you can hear her run out
of time. Then she wouldn't stop talking, so they turned
her microphone off, and then you can hear the frustration,
(04:57):
the frustrated comments from Cjson.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Why was it that this administration was called on to
do public safety when clearly there was an issue with
Prime and Reggie Hill. They were on the ticket. You
can't be trusted, So why didn't you get the sheriff
or the state to come in and go to these
precincts so we can do it. Was a fair election
process because clearly three people I can't say whether they
(05:22):
saw it and I said they saw last environment.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
I think I heard on the elections.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
I got to turn the microphone off now because she's
used up for three minutes.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
Thank you, Thank you, thank you, And if anybody have
any problems with any type of election process, just go
across the hall and find a lawsuit.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Now the clerk all ain't. So there you have it.
So if you have a problem with the election process,
you've just heard the council president encourage you to go
find lawsuit. So that is the answer. Now, if there's
a question about the election, just go go file your
lawsuit and leave them alone. You know. That's I don't know.
I need to ask Sabrina mass one day, what does
(06:12):
it feel like to be in these conflicts? Because I
think it might be fun to get thrown out of
a council meeting, But I don't want to disrupt a meeting.
I wonder if I could go up there and ask
permission and just get thrown out for fun. You know,
they might have fun thrown me out. It might be
a fun way for them to in their meeting to
(06:33):
throw me out. So IM going I'll look into that.
Getting thrown out of a council meeting just as a
bucket list's kind of a bucket list item. Getting thrown
out of a Mobile city council meeting. Now what else?
Now I mentioned the city passed the budget. Here is
a break, just just for posterity purposes. Here is the
(06:54):
passage of the budget, and you'll hear some commentary from
Mobile City Councilman Joel about how he feels like the city,
everybody involved has done a wonderful job passing the budget.
Another discussion.
Speaker 6 (07:09):
All in favor, all the polls. Budget passed.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Thank you, There was Mayor Stempson thanking him.
Speaker 7 (07:19):
Mister Pinkston. If I could, I would just like to
thank the City Council for moving forward on this budget.
As most people know, we have a mandated deadline of
September twentieth the City Council to approve the budget that
is submitted to us on August second by the administration.
(07:41):
We had a full, complete open process, including public hearing
last week and anyone that wanted to could have talked
about it again today. So I think it's been a
very transparent process. I appreciate the City Council working with
Director Collins and the rest of the administration to go
ahead and get this budget pass on time.
Speaker 8 (08:01):
Thank you, good job, mister Collins, and know so thank
you all right.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Today everybody congratulating themselves on how they're so effectively spending
the tax dollar. I'm glad you did a good job allegedly,
but this stuff couldn't y'all just circulate an email or
have a group chant where you thank each other, because
it makes the meeting last longer when you're in there
patting each other on the back like that. So just
learn about a group chant or maybe some email chain
(08:29):
we all thank everybody, or maybe get together in the
back room where all the deals happen. Anyway, thank each
other back there. But there's more more from the council,
other news items to get to, and your phone calls
as The Uncle Henry Show proceeds forward here on news
radio seven to ten WNTM. But first traffic and weather
(08:52):
and worse for our sponsors. In the break Uncle Henry Show,
(09:16):
News Radio seven ten WNTIM, it is five twenty news
headlines coming up in ten minutes. I've got more from
today's Mobile City Council meeting and other news items to
get to. But I've got callers waiting to talk, and
I love to talk to living people when they decide
to place a call to the Uncle Henry Show. I
(09:39):
love the live caller. Let's find out who these people are.
Hello caller.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Good evening, Aunt, Henry.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Bert Bert, you are live on the radio.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
I just wanted to briefly mention the late Tim camp
that you mentioned on your show yesterday. Yes, I I
never got a chance to meet him, but so help me,
Uncle Henry. I had just friend requested him on Facebook
one or two days before his passing.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Oh wow, too bad, Bert, You would you would have?
You too, would have enjoyed talking to each other.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
I think I think so. And you mentioned Jason Green yesterday.
I went to school with him.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Oh you did.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
I did, And he and I were also in a
garage band together back in the eighties. I never pursued
it long enough to scope out gigs because about a
month or two later I moved to Louisiana and got
him a straight face band. Uh. It was a real
hot local band with originals and stuff like that. Wow,
(10:42):
be Jason. I've been knowing Jason Green since the seventies.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Well, he and he and Tim had had a band.
I don't know how long, but they had a two
man act and it was pretty good. They were both
very talented.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
I'd love to have heard him. Uh, Uncle Henry, I
just want to mention on your show, that my band
and just playing again at the Blues Tavern this coming
Friday night.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Oh really, what time?
Speaker 5 (11:06):
I believe we start at eight?
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Okay, so eight o'clock tonight, eight o'clock Friday night the
Blues Tavern. Is it called Rip van Rock?
Speaker 5 (11:16):
It is all right?
Speaker 3 (11:18):
Well, Bert, I hope you have a good crowd, and
one of these days I'm going to see you play.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
I sure hope so, Uncle Henry. I heard you were
there for that benefit, but not all of our band
showed up, so we didn't get a chance to play.
There's going to be another benefit there on the twenty
eighth for a man named Brinson Cross. He's a friend
of my drummers. And I told my drummer, if the
rest of the band doesn't show up, I'll play a do.
Speaker 9 (11:42):
It with him.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Okay, that'll be good.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
That's where it tastes all right. Well, Bert, thank you
for taking a call to Henry.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Thank you very much for listening and calling, and please
call back about those benefits. Would love to let people
know about the benefit A little bit closer to it.
Two five, one nine three the telephone number here on
the Unclaimer show. And I did enjoy Bert using musician slang.
Did you notice he was using musician slang, the special
(12:10):
language of musicians. He said that he was in a
band with Jason Green, but he didn't have time to
scope out gigs. See this is musician slang, scope out gigs.
No gigs were scoped out. Let's see who we got here.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Hello Color, Hey Obra Henry, how you doing.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
Snake trapper? Stake trapper? You are live on the radio,
Old Henry.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Did you get to watch the debate last night?
Speaker 3 (12:44):
I didn't see all of it. I saw some of it,
and I watched some of today's debate at noon with
Al dot Com. Now tell me what you thought.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
What did you hear, Old Henry? I did not watch
it at all, As I stated, I was going to
watch y'all Monday night football.
Speaker 9 (12:58):
But yes, did.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Post a little comment that miss Drummond said, and I'd
like to repeat it. It says, and I quote she said,
I cannot overstate the danger that Donald Trump and the
mega Republicans posed to the future of this country. So
Uncle Henry, she is automatically demonizing half of the country
(13:25):
and probably probably fates of her people that she's wanting
to represent.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Here in Mobile Now let me tell you that quote
isn't that's a quote from her, but it didn't come
from the debate. That was a quote that I believe
was from twenty twenty three. In fact, I played that
audio on the Uncle Henry show weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Okay, well, thanks for correcting me. Like I said, I
did not watch it, but I did see that post
from mister Ron rings.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Hey, listen, stand by, listen, listen. Let me see if
this is part of that standby.
Speaker 6 (14:02):
I cannot overstate the danger that Donald Trump and the
MAGA Republicans agenda poses for our nation's future.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
All right, So that is that's the quote, right.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
That is it, Uncle Henry?
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Like I said, And now what what what I would
like to ask her? I don't know if they asked
her last night in the debate. Like I said, I
didn't watch it. If if if we get assault, if
she becomes mayor and somebody gets assaulted with the uh
uh Donald Trump, uh make America great again? Hand? I mean,
if she just gonna not charge these people since she'll
(14:39):
be in charge of our law enforcement, because they're actually
uh going up against somebody that she may think is
a fascist or racist or white supremacist or a Nazi,
Uh Henry. Uh you know I've lost uh reptives in
World War one and two and uh uh uh to
(15:01):
to you know with fault uh Germany in both wars.
Uh you know. So I mean this woman is she
she does not definitely need to be in power over here.
She she really believes that probably like I said, five
aches of her constituents or or that type of people,
Uncle Henry, d uh you know, you may have some
in this country that do exist, but it's not a
(15:23):
mobile us. She's an idiot, Uncle Henry. Is what I
think for even making a statement like that.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Well, uh, we the vote. Now, you can't vote right here,
you're out of town, but you're right on the customer,
right on the edge. Is that right? You can't you
cannot vote, but you can practically look into the city
from your front.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Yard, Uncle Henry. It's all around me. They penciled out
my neighborhood.
Speaker 9 (15:48):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Everything to the north, south, east, and west of me
is mobile a little bit.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Well maybe maybe it's because maybe it's because they figured
out you were a Maga Republican and you put the
agenda that you were proposing post some type of danger.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Henry. People, that's a few and this type of stuff
does not need to be in power. I mean you
need to that. They need to realize that we're one
nation under God, Uncle Henry, and now we're not against
each other. We are all fighting for the uh, the
same outcome. We all want to see our children grow
up to be prosperous.
Speaker 10 (16:23):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
You know, we want to be able to help the
poor or feed the needy, clothed the naked. But uh,
you know, when you're just driving a wedge in like that.
I mean, if she becomes mayor, I'm gonn want to
tell you, on Henry, I won't be scared to go
downtown because you know, I just you know, I would
just hate to be beat up and then charge is
not being brought against somebody because I may have I
(16:45):
wore my truck forty five shirt that I do have
and I wear proudly at times.
Speaker 9 (16:50):
All Right, it's scared, all right?
Speaker 3 (16:52):
Well we the election is a week from today or yeah,
I guess so.
Speaker 9 (16:57):
So.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Uh, everybody has to go vote. Very important to let
your opinion be known because the future of the town
is right there in front.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Of us, yes, sir, and no, something is a little
twenty five percent turnout would uh would get this type
of person out of out of our mayorial race on it.
Like I said, so, if you love this country and
you feel like you're being demonized, get out and vote.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
All right, vote next week. Snake Trapper got a run
up on the break, but thank you very much for
your phone call. Snake Trapper enjoyed talking to you more.

(18:50):
seven nine two seven two three the telephone number. I
do have more from the council meeting, but let me
get to these living callers. Hello caller, Hello calling.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Let me.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
All right, all right, somebody having a conversation there in
the background. All right, well, let me go. Let me
go to another caller. Hello callery. Do you know Henry
Cliff Cliff you are live on the radio.
Speaker 11 (19:17):
I'm Henry.
Speaker 9 (19:18):
I was gonna vote for miss Barbara Drummer.
Speaker 11 (19:22):
But the red flag came up when Uh Obama and
in doorstub all the way down here, Lord Alabama, he
indorses Obama, stands for missus Drummond. I said to myself,
I wouldn't let that dude speak up for my dead dogs.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Now, I didn't see that. You're saying, Baraka. Wait a minute,
you're saying Barack Obama has endorsed her.
Speaker 5 (19:54):
Yes, sir, I'm not.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
I have not heard that. Where did you hear that?
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Oh?
Speaker 11 (20:02):
Yesterday?
Speaker 3 (20:03):
Okay, Well I need to find that.
Speaker 5 (20:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (20:05):
Well, you know, uncle Henry, I wake up at two
or three, two or three in the morning, and I'm searching.
I'm searching, you know, for the different news to try
to find the truth out of lives and everything else
that's going on.
Speaker 11 (20:22):
But out of her own mouth.
Speaker 12 (20:23):
She said that, Oh, Henry, let me tell you that.
The problem with preachers and pastors and people saying things
like that, do you know that godsh grace and his
mercy didn't only save me, but it changed a whole
(20:44):
lot of other people. So who's to say you saying
Donald Trump is the worst person in the world because
somebody's telling you to say that. How you know, Gosh
Grace and his mercy hadn't been on Donald Trump and
Donald Trump repented.
Speaker 9 (20:59):
You don't know.
Speaker 12 (21:00):
That's why you tell us not the judge and not
to bear false witness and not to lie people. And
it talks about some of the things God hurt his feet,
that's running swiftly to tell lies and false witnesses and stuff.
You can't do this, You don't You don't know the man.
I don't even know him personally. I don't know him
(21:22):
enough to call him anything. My dad said, if somebody
call you, somebody tells you that that man steal you
can't go around telling that man still because you don't
know if he's stealed in front of you.
Speaker 9 (21:38):
Here thief.
Speaker 12 (21:39):
But until he do, you can't call him that. You
can't go spread nothing you ain't seen, and that's what's
wrong with black people. We'll go tell We'll spread ninety
five miles and believe what somebody else tell us. Well,
my uncle also told us, if you don't stand for
one thing, I got a little mars and I got
(22:00):
a lot of more common sense. But if you don't
stand for something, you'll fall for everything. And that's the
baddest thing about black people.
Speaker 11 (22:09):
We'll believe what anybody tell us.
Speaker 12 (22:12):
Yeah, bless day again.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
If thank you very much for your phone call two
five one four nine two seven two three. The telephone
number here on the own Clanary show. That's two five
to one four seven nine two seven two three. Email
address Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot com. Today there was
a Mobile City Council meeting. They did bring up the
election at the meeting. The election is Tuesday, so they
(22:34):
are not going to have a council meeting next week.
The meeting will be Wednesday. Here are a couple of
comments about the election. Here's Mobile City Councilman Ben Reynolds.
Speaker 13 (22:48):
Yes, Sirvice President. On Tuesday of next week, there's going
to be an election, and every citizen who lives in
the city who's registered to vote, has a duty to
go out and vote. Uh, you can't take it for granted.
You have to go vote. It doesn't take long. It's
an easy process, and the implications of this election are tremendous.
(23:09):
So I hope that everyone who can vote will get
out and vote on Tuesday.
Speaker 8 (23:13):
Thank you, mister President.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
All right, and Ben Reynolds, God bless him for his brevity.
Ben Reynolds, outstanding brevity. Now Josh Woods Mobile city councilor
and Josh Woods also re elected. Like Ben Reynolds, here
is Josh Woods.
Speaker 14 (23:29):
Just to echo on what council Membor Rentals said in
the Citymobile. We roughly have one hundred and fifty two
thousand registered voters. The last election that we had coming
out that came out in the city, forty and eighty
one people came out and voted. In District six. We
have a population of twenty nine thousand, roughly twenty three
(23:50):
thousand voting population, and out of that, four hundred and
eighty eight residents came to the polls.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
I'm not going to be leader.
Speaker 14 (23:58):
The point of that this are tell you this is
the most important election of our lifetime, because if you
talk whoever you talk to, every election is the most
important election in the lifetime. But what I can tell
you is that this is a very important election for
the Citymobile. We were choosing choosing a mayor of a
mayor that's not in a combent. So I just want
to reemphasize that the importance of getting out and voting,
(24:21):
and it takes minutes moments, It doesn't take long to vote.
The polling locations are relatively convenient, and again I just
want to emphasize, especially for District six, that we need
to get out and vote five four and eighty eight votes.
While every one of us much appreciated, we definitely need
to turn out unless your voice be heard next Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
Thank you, mister resident. All Right, so you had a
couple of council people talking about the importance of getting
out and voting next week in Mobile at today's Mobile
City Council meeting. If you want to see the entire meeting,
it is available on YouTube and it's about an hour
and twenty minute today. So if you need some help
getting to sleep tonight, it really will help. It really
(25:06):
will help if you're trying to go to sleep, just
have it on in the background. You could even use
the glow of whatever if you're having on your phone
or some tablet or something, you could use it as
kind of a night light as you are drifting off
to sleep. Listening to the Mobile City Council meeting there
on YouTube now real quick before amount of time this segment,
(25:27):
the mayor had an announcement for those that drive in
downtown Mobile about some more slowing of the traffic. They're
working really hard on slowing the traffic down in downtown Mobile.
They wanted to be at a crawl. Here is what
the mayor said about work that it's going to happen
next week in downtown Mobile to as part of the
(25:48):
process of slowing it down to a crawl.
Speaker 8 (25:52):
For those driven around downtown, you'll see the evidence of
what we call in the street optimization.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Pro Street OPTIMIZERM Now it's not optimized for your car
or your truck.
Speaker 8 (26:02):
Over where we are enhancing the traffic flow. Where we're
changing the traffic flowing several of the streets and many
of the streets from moving a lot of the unnecessary
traffic signals. We are resurfacing, restriping, and converting from one
way to two way traffic. There'll be eight streets total,
four fully converted and four partially converted. What we're the
(26:27):
hope there is that we'll use yield to flow traffic
model with vehicles moving both directions without removing existing on
street parking. The idea is to slow the traffic down, and.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
The idea is to slow the traffic down.
Speaker 8 (26:41):
Really two way traffic and cars parked on the street
tend to slow the traffic down, which makes it better
for a pedestrian foot track as they're crossing the streets.
The conversions actually begin next week with the Warren Street
and Deermon Street will be the first two, and the
stripen and santage work will take place at night to
(27:03):
reduce confusion. You can find out more information from the
citiomobile dot org website.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Okay, all right, and they're gonna be doing some of
that work next week at night. You heard him say,
to avoid confusion. See, I would be confused if I
saw people working at night. But if you're looking for entertainment,
it'll be something fun to go watch the deliberate slowing
of traffic and you can go watch it as they
(27:32):
work on it at night next week in Downtown Mobile.
There's more to come, but first got to go to
a break for traffic and weather and words from our
sponsors here on WNTM.
Speaker 15 (27:47):
At iHeartRadio Station.

Show, Hello caller, Hey, how you doing.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
I'm doing good. You are live on the radio.
Speaker 9 (29:00):
Hey, I want to reminisce for one second.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Okay.
Speaker 9 (29:04):
I had a good Tuscal loose the other day and
we went through Meridian toward Tuscaloosa and I saw the
ten Tom Waterway. I went over it.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Oh, congratulations, thank you.
Speaker 9 (29:15):
Do you remember when Lambert Mems mayor and he said
that the ten Tom was bigger than the Pyramids.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
You don't remember that, I think I do, Yes, I can. Well,
I'll tell you this. I remember when the ten, the ten,
the ten tom was talked about in this town like
it was the greatest thing on the planet.
Speaker 9 (29:39):
I remember somebody telling me, I was in school at
the time, that this is made Mobile bigger than Houston. Yes,
I'm still waiting.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Yes, indeed, do you remember that? I do? Yes, I remember.
The reason I remember is because back in my days
at wabb somebody was always including the ten the ten
Tome in parody song and stuff. It was enough of
a joke locally that people put it in parody songs.
Speaker 9 (30:05):
Right. Well, Uh, from you know, time to time, I'll
call and reminisce about old times, like the old Crystal
that in Ann Street, Remember the old Crystal of Government
and uh that I don't speak crystal there it was
really really good.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
Hey, now tell me now, speaking of reminiscing, did they
not close? Haven't they closed a couple of crystals and
Mobile in the last year or so?
Speaker 9 (30:32):
I think they have. I think they have.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Now what what is? What do you attribute that to?
People just can't they don't want the little Burger anymore?
They want a giant burger.
Speaker 9 (30:40):
These days, they can't get people to work. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Well, there's that is that's probably closer to the truth.
Speaker 9 (30:47):
Yeah, yeah, Oh well, I just saw the tin tom
and I hadn't heard anything about the ten tom probably
twenty five years. So when I saw that, I said, hey,
I need to call Uncle Henry about it.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
All right, Well, I'm glad you did. I think I'm
gonna I'm gonna look for some of those old parody songs.
Speaker 9 (31:04):
Okay, have a good one on you two.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
Thank you for the reminiscing. I do appreciate that. Yeah,
I think yesterday I was I talked about Tim camp
passing and I was reminiscing on this radio station about
those years and his talents as a musician, and I talked.
I don't know if I was talking on YouTube about
(31:28):
it or on the radio show, but the parody song
Bubba Lank's moon Pies, you know, I think the ten
tom might have been in that song, just because people
would throw it out there. It's a big deal once
upon a time. But sir, thank you for your call.
Two five one four seven nine two seven two three.
That's two five one four seven nine two seven two
(31:49):
three email address Uncle HENRYT. iHeartMedia dot com. Uh almost
out a time. In this segment of the show, I
do want to say, there's a new trend I saw
that is spreading generation Z that I know is really
going to irritate me. And it is called and you're
gonna think I've made this up, it's called smell maxing.
(32:11):
Smell maxing in what it is is the new trend
is that young people in their twenties and teenagers, instead
of wearing one perfume or one cologne, they are now
starting to put on three or four different cologns at
the same time to create their own unique scent. They
(32:38):
call it smell maxing. And they're allegedly spending money on
designer colowns to do this, and they say it's it's
it's about individual expression, about creativity and expression with your
stink they want to smell. It's called smell maxing. Now
(33:05):
this is gonna I mean, I just I don't know
what I'm gonna do about this. Somebody comes to walk,
you know, I have trouble enough when some people just
seem to bathe in perfume or cologonne and they walk
into a room and like to knock you over with
the stank off their colonne or perfume. Now they're going
to put on three or four different colognes at the
same time and call it a smell. I'm smell Maxing.
(33:27):
I'm gonna have to grow the biggest mustache that the
Lord will allow me to grow, just to help me
filter this out. I get. I don't know what knows.
Plugs giant mustache knows what am I gonna do? Smell Max.
(33:51):
If you are a younger person, please do not smell
Max near me. You can be individual. Want to just
create some type of special T shirts that would have
an individual message instead of a stink. All right, more
(34:12):
show after the break, it says the Uncle Henry Show
(34:37):
here on news Radio seventy ten WNTM. Thank you. I
appreciate very much you listening to The Uncle Henry Show.
I do. Now in this half hour of show, I'm
going to cover some news items that I don't know about. Yeah,
I'm learning with you. Maybe you don't know either. Maybe
you and I together, Maybe you and I together can
(35:02):
join forces to lift our own ignorance. Now I'm not
saying you're ignorant. I'm just saying you might be you
might be like me. Let's learn together, or you can
listen to me learn and you can feel even more
superior to me mentally. And let's start. I don't know
(35:23):
much about this story. There is a bunch of foxes
on Dolphin Island. I've talked about this on the show before.
There's some foxes on Dolphin Island. And there's been a
variety of government agencies that have looked into the foxes
on Dolphin Island, and they've all decided that the best
thing to do would be to get rid of these foxes,
(35:46):
because we don't want the foxes to mess with the turtles.
There's a bunch of turtles and there's some birds, and
for whatever reason, there are government agencies or entities that
like the turtles and the birds more than they like
the foxes, and they don't want the foxes to mess
with the turtles and the birds, and so they want
to get rid of the foxes. And some people are
(36:08):
now filing lawsuits to protect the foxes. All right, so
let's find out. Let's go to Fox ten. They've got
the story on this situation on Dauphin Island.
Speaker 16 (36:23):
Foxes all right, a mobile County judge ordering the town
of Dolphin Island to stop killing, removing, or relocating foxes
on the West End Beach.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
You can't mess with the did you hear that a lot?
There's a variety of things you can't do to the foxes.
Speaker 15 (36:40):
Comes almost two weeks after the town council voter to
get rid of invasive species.
Speaker 17 (36:45):
Like foxes so they would not destroy protected species like
birds and turtles. Oh.
Speaker 16 (36:50):
Natalie Williamson spoke with Spnce Harrison, one of the people
trying to protect the foxes.
Speaker 17 (36:55):
She's joining us now Plenny's and Cameron Harrison tells me
he knew some they needed to be done to press
the brakes on these foxes being taken off the island.
He's hoping this will keep the beloved animals where they
are tonight.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
They're beloved, you know, and I'm not saying they're not
lovable creatures. But at some point in my life I
need to study these animals on a personal level. I do.
I want to study them on a personal level to
find out how I can become as beloved as a fox,
because I think if something happened to me, I don't
know that anybody would file a restraining order to protect
(37:32):
me or nothing but back to the beloved foxes.
Speaker 18 (37:38):
Or documents revealed two people have filed a temporary restraining
order against the Town of Dauphin Island to protect the
foxes on the West End Beach. This comes after the
island's town council voted to move forward with the Animal
and Plant Health Inspection Service, which is a part of
the Department of Agriculture, to prevent.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
Invisis So this is the federal government is involved. Isn't
it nice knowing your federal tax dollar is involved in
the fox versus turtle, fox versus bird conflict.
Speaker 18 (38:10):
The Department of Agriculture to prevent invasive animals like foxes
from destroying protected wildlife. According to the tro the planeffs
are resident of Dauphin Island, Dwayne Wood and local photographer
Spence Harrison. The document was signed by Circuit Judge Michael
Young Peter, ordering Mayor Jeff Callier, the council, and the
(38:32):
town to stop the killing, removal, or relocation of any
and all foxes. While wearing a hat that says fox World,
Harrison tells me the ruling is a step in the
right direction.
Speaker 19 (38:45):
It was great knowing that that will be halted till
we can find out the information from the site studies
and all that exactly what's going on.
Speaker 18 (38:55):
Harrison has taken dozens of photos of these animals, including
one who has become a staple to the community named Roxy.
Speaker 13 (39:06):
Group.
Speaker 18 (39:06):
Well, he and other community members are fighting to save
the foxes. Marion Goalden with the Alabama Department of Conservation
and Natural Resources tells me, quote, predator management is a
crucial element of shore bird restaurants.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Alabama Department of whatever Conservation and Natural Resources. So state
tax dollars also, you have federal tax dollars involved in
the fight between foxes and turtles and foxes and birds.
Now you've got state tax dollars, state employees involved in
the fight between foxes and birds, and foxes and turtles.
(39:42):
We've got there's every level of government involved in this.
And of course the town of Dauphin Island. These poor people,
these poor people trying, they're just trying to pick up
garbage and make sure the island doesn't flood. And here
comes somebody here comes to fox versus the turtle duration efforts.
Speaker 17 (39:59):
Harrison tells me he wants to see data like actual
fox counts and statistics on bird losses right here on
the West End. He says, tow leaders and conservation groups
are making claims without showing the numbers to back them up.
Speaker 19 (40:12):
We want to ask for in all kinds of the
information from the last two or three seasons of the
studies that the Alabama Audubon had done and the.
Speaker 3 (40:24):
Turtle people, the turtle people.
Speaker 19 (40:27):
Because some of the information that's coming out it's not
really driving it's the wildlife and that comes.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
I don't want to interrupt this guy, but I did
because I want to know more about the turtle people.
Are they a group that advocate for turtles? Are they
part turtle?
Speaker 19 (40:45):
I just don't think you know that one species of
wildlife should be sacrificed, such a beautiful species that can
be managed.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
The court order to hear it again, Well, he's and God,
I'm not I'm making light of this man's quest to
protect his beloved roxy at all, because I'm I'm very
attached to my animals on a personal level. But the uh,
(41:14):
why do you like the foxes more than the turtles
or more than the birds? Is there? Is it because
of the physical beauty of the fox. I'm just, I'm
just I don't understand this.
Speaker 17 (41:25):
Spring for this on October second, but for now, the
fate of the foxes is still unknown. On Daulphin Island,
Natalie Williamson Fox ten News, all.
Speaker 3 (41:35):
Right, the fate of the fox is unknown, you know, listener,
I apologize. I didn't realize we'd have a cliffhanger here
where we don't know the fate of the foxes and
won't know until October at the earliest. Well, well, I'll
keep you updated on whatever I can find out. And meanwhile,
I'm going to study. I'm gonna study these foxes, just
(41:56):
just on a for what I can learn to improve
my own life, because obviously, you know the turtles are
there ain't nobody advocating for the turtle. Now you've got
governmental entities advocating for the turtle. You got birds, you
got governmental entities advocating for the birds. But there's nobody
(42:18):
out there with a bird hat or a turtle hat
filing restraining orders or filing so they could have filed
a restraining order on the fox saying stay away from
our turtles, stay away from our bird eggs. They ain't
doing that. So I want to study the foxes and
find out what it is. What quality do the foxes have,
(42:40):
What do they have that would just enchant these adult
males and have them file restraining orders? And want to
see data and do all this. I want to know.
I want to find out what the fox has going
for it so that I can incorporate some of that
into my life and then people will take up for me.
All right, gonna there's more to get to, but first
(43:01):
a break. Gonna take a break and then come back
with more. Uncle Henry Show here on news Radio seventy
ten WNTM. Let us now please take the dad gum break,
(43:26):
it says the Uncle Henry Show here on News Radio
seven ten WNTM. News headlines coming up in ten minutes.
Before we get to the news headlines, there's another news
story I want to learn about if you don't mind.
Baldwin County Fair is kicking off. I can't remember, I
(43:49):
don't know, I can't remember if I've ever been to it,
So yeah, I want to learn about it, the Baldwin
County Fair. Let's go to Fox ten and listen to
what Fox ten has to tell us about the Baldwin
County Fair kicking off.
Speaker 10 (44:05):
If you're looking for something fun to do this week.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
The Baldwin by the way that we're hearing the lovely
young anchor Lady Ashling Mitchell Ashling Mitchell of Fox ten.
If you're looking for something fun to do this week.
Speaker 10 (44:18):
County Fair is set to get underway in just six
hours and it's all happening at the Fairgrounds in Robertsdale.
Speaker 3 (44:25):
Our Steven, Robertsdale, Alabama, a magnificent city. It is one
of the most wonderful places to drive through when you're
on your way to somewhere you'd rather be. It really is.
It is a wonderful place to drive through when you're
on your way to someone else, to somewhere else you'd
rather be. And I've got a relative that lives in Robertsdale,
(44:49):
and a few years ago they made me a T shirt,
a Robert They made me a custom Robertsdale T shirt
and it was a map of Robertsdale. I've got it.
I wear it sometimes when I walk my dog in midtown.
It's a T shirt that has a map of Robertsdale
on it with all these different stars. And I asked him,
I said, what are all these stars on the map,
(45:10):
and they had a map made of all the places
you can buy fried chicken in Robertsdale. So I've got
a T shirt that has a map of Robertsdale on
it with all of the places that sell fried chicken
on the map of the shirt. Robertsdale. It is a
wonderful town to drive through when you're on your way
(45:31):
to somewhere you'd rather be.
Speaker 10 (45:33):
Ben Moody is live there this morning, and Steven just
a lot to look forward to again this year.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 20 (45:41):
It's something that we'll look forward to every year, and
this year is gonna be no different. You can just
see behind me. Everything is already set up and it
is shaping up to be a fantastic week over the
next few days. Now, this is year seventy four for
this fare, making.
Speaker 3 (45:54):
It Now, I see all the typical fair rides. I'm
not even gonna list them, you can just a map
in your mind. Fair rides.
Speaker 20 (46:02):
This another special anniversary and from today until Saturday, you'll
be able to enjoy all of the rides, the food,
and the other entertainment. Plan for this year's fair, you
can expect signature rides like Area fifty one, the Cliffhanger
and the freak Out, and of course there'll be tons
of great fair food that we're all used to it.
If that wasn't enough, there'll also be helicopter rides and
a padding zoo as well. Now tickets are ten dollars
(46:23):
for adults, but you know.
Speaker 3 (46:24):
I'd like I might like a helicopter ride. One of
the most beautiful things I've had an opportunity to look
at in my life was back gosh, this would have
been almost twenty years ago. I went to the hot
air Balloon festival that they hold in Baldwin County and
(46:46):
I got to ride with one of the balloon people.
And I didn't just go up in the balloon tethered
to the ground. This person just flew me around. And
the view going up in that balloon floating over Baldwin County,
it was what an incredible view because you get up
(47:06):
high enough, of course, and you can see Mobile Bay,
you can see Mobile you can look, you can I
mean gorgeous the Gulf of course, just a gorgeous view.
Kids under twelve so got The only reason I mentioned
that is if you ever have a chance to take
a hot air balloon ride where you actually go up
and you're floating around, not tethered to the ground. Take
(47:28):
the opportunity.
Speaker 20 (47:29):
Seniors over sixty five and veterans will get in free.
Parking is free. Also, gates will open tonight, Wednesday, Thursday,
and Friday at five and then.
Speaker 3 (47:37):
Gates gates, you're open now, everybody.
Speaker 20 (47:40):
On Saturday, we'll open at two o'clock. Now we'll have
more throughout the day. I know our later cruise will
be here as well as we get ready for it.
Speaker 3 (47:49):
So the fair is started tonight, Bawln County Fair and
Robertsdale a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Robertsdale and all of
the fair food. Maybe even pay for a helicopter ride.
All right, what else can I tell you? Almost out
of time, I did see a trend, a food trend
that has me perplexed. This is according to TikTok. The
(48:12):
new food trend that is spreading on TikTok is stretchy yogurt.
Stretchy yogurt yogurt that you can stretch. It is yogurt
that is thick, sticky, and has a bouncy, almost slime
like texture. People say they love it. Because of its chewiness.
(48:36):
Now does that sound appealing to you? Because I'm thinking
about yogurt and I've learned to accept yogurt. I don't
think it existed when I was a child, but I've
learned to accept it. I don't want to chew it.
That's I don't want to. But this is spreading like wildfire.
People saying they love to chew their yogurt, stretchy yogurt.
(48:58):
Now they see you can make it a home. The
way you would make it is you would just take
greeky yogurt, milk and tapioca starch, mix them together in
microwave for a couple of minutes, stir, and then you've
got stretchy yogurt. Now you can try that and let
(49:19):
me know how it works. I don't want to try it.
I don't. No, I'm open to new experiences I am,
but I don't want yogurt that stretches or is chewy.
I think i't you enough? Yeah, I do, I think
i't you enough? You can tell by looking at me.
I do a lot of chewing. All right, out of
time for this edition of the Uncle Henry Show. You
(49:42):
have my gratitude for listening to it. I do appreciate
you doing that. As they say in Sara Land, have
a good one, And as they say in Theodore, take
it easy. And as they say in some convenience stores
in midtown, they say, keep it easy.
Speaker 5 (50:03):
All right.
Speaker 9 (50:04):
Later m
