Speaker 1 (00:19):
This is the Uncle Henry Show here on news Radio
seventy ten WNTM. Thank you for listener. I appreciate it
very very much. Now, in this segment of the show,
I got one of my coworkers here, Missy too. She's
gonna tell me about an event that I am going
to Saturday. I'm going Saturday morning to downtown Mobile with
(00:42):
my wife, Missus Henry. There's something called brunch Fest. Now, Missy, Missy,
what is your role with brunch Fest? Are you one
of the brunch cookers? What are you doing?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Have you known me well enough, Uncle Henry, you know
that I am not one of the brunch cookers. What
are you doing about?
Speaker 1 (00:57):
What's your connection to this?
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Well? I am on the committee for brunch Fest and
brunch Fest is a fundraiser for Lifelines Counseling Service.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
They have been having this brunch Fest since twenty seventeen.
It's been at a lot of different well a few
different locations. That originally started out at Bimble Square and
then it moved to Cathedral Square. Now this year, we
are so excited because it's going to be at Fort
condy in. All the other locations have been great. Yeah,
(01:26):
but we just keep getting better and better every year.
We need a little bit of a bigger space. So
this is I think Fort condy In is going to
be the right place.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
You need a bigger space, bigger than cathedral square. This
is I'm already very interested in this, and I haven't
been to Fort condy In in years and years, so
I'm looking forward to this. So I'm assuming that when
my wife and I go, we're going to be eating
a lot of breakfast food.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
You should be eating a lot of breakfast food. If
you leave Hungary after this event, this is going to
be your own fault. We have over fourteen restaurants that
will have brunch samplings, and we have the chef's meeting
the other night, and I asked them to tell me
what they were making. Oh, uncle, Henry, there's going to
be some amazing, amazing.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
You remember, Can you tell the listener because some listeners
might want to buy a ticket to this. I know
the listeners of the Uncleanrvery Show. They have not been
out Friday night on Halloween just being debaucherous. They were
home handing out candied little children. And then the next
day they want to go and have a nice time
so they want to go to brunch fest with me
and my wife down up for Condy in this Saturday.
(02:30):
So what food can you remember that these folks will
eat with us?
Speaker 2 (02:33):
So we have I know, we have stuffed French toast.
We have a balbun with I can't remember something in
the balbun. We have some a couple of different grits,
good cheese grits, pork balley, some things with pork belly.
(02:56):
I cannot remember all of them, but they're amazing. You
can go to the website and check it out and
get a life lifelines dot.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Org, Lifelines dot org.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Lifelines Mobile. I'm sorry, lifelinesmobile dot org.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Okay, lifelinesmobile dot org. And we can see a list
of this stif.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yeah, you can see a list. And that's where you
can also purchase your tickets.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
The tickets the day of are thirty five. If you
purchase them in advance, they are thirty dollars. And we
also have vib Do you know what vi ib mean?
Speaker 1 (03:24):
I do not know what the B gues. Ticket gains
very important bruncher. Yes see, well, any other B word
would be maybe obscene or something.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Well, but this is you know, a good, family, wholesome, show,
show good, the very important brunchers. Yeah, so with that ticket,
those are seventy five in advance, and I do believe
we have some of those left, but not many.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Okay, what do you get if you're a VIB You.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Get to go so in the bistro scene Emmanuel, where
the restaurant is in Fort Condian, You get to go
in there. You get a complimentary either Mimosa or Bloody Mary.
You get special food from a special chef. You also
get seating like inside seating inside restrooms. So there are advantages.
(04:09):
Now even if you're not, if you're just a general
admission like myself, you are still going to walk away
full and happy. But if you're one of those that likes,
you know, a little little land yapple, little extra, then
you may want to purchase a VB ticket and those
will be eighty five at the door, seventy five in
advance or eighty five at the door. But if there's any.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Left, but advanced tickets for a regular person would be
thirty dollars.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Thirty dollars, I mean, what can you do at for
thirty dollars?
Speaker 1 (04:35):
In well, fat tell us, can you remember just off
hand some of the restaurants involved. I'm not going to
put you on the spot. You don't have to name
them all, but can you name a handfund?
Speaker 2 (04:43):
That's okay, I can, and I hopefully I will remember
as many as I can. I will feel bad if
I leave anybody out. But we have the Renaissance Cafe.
They are the defending champs. They won last year. I
believe the last couple of years that they will be
back to defend their title. The Flying Biscuit, which I
ate the other day and it was really really good.
(05:04):
Big A's bandidos uh and I might have got that
brom but Big A's Brunch and breakfast something like that.
Who else? Starbucks will be there, Vandal Street Kitchen will
be there, red or white, Okay, we'll be there. Those

Speaker 1 (05:28):
So uh so brunch food. We're gonna be eating some
brunch food, some.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Very yummy brunch food. And people are putting their their
twist on brunch food. Oh humming, humming bird way will
be there. Okay, they're all coming back to me now.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Okay, Now, I like, uh, not that you can do
anything about this, but I like French toast because I
never ever make it myself. I would never make that myself.
So is there gonna be something French toasty?
Speaker 2 (05:52):
As a matter of fact, there will be something French toasting.
You will be in luck. It's a stuffed French toast.
That's all I'm gonna tell you about. You're gonna have
to see it and taste it to believe.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Now, there's I also like any kind of unusual variation
on grits. So are there going to be grits variation?
Speaker 2 (06:09):
There will be grits there, yes, okay, So bubbles and
brunch will be there. We'll be having biscuits, tomato, gravy.
Those are just to name a few of the things
that you can expect.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Okay, so this this is going to be a delicious fundraiser. Now.
Lifeline's counseling. What kind of counseling do they do.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
They do a lot of different counseling. They do find
you know, it's a rape crisis center. They also do
counseling for They help financial planning. You can call their
number and they can help you with a varie There's
a lot of different things under their umbrella that they
can help with.
Speaker 1 (06:43):

When you go downtown for the brunch Best and have
brunch with a Saturday morning, you're going to be helping
a very good cause. Here mobile helps a lot of people.
