Speaker 1 (00:02):
Now I just wanted to call up really and wish
everybody a merry merry Christmas.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Well, thank you.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Now I want to point out one thing I don't
want anybody to tell me or say to me. What
is that they're saying.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Happy happy holiday?

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (00:28):
No, no, that to me, it's a tantic I think
it is one of the best instruments that Lucifer Satan has.
And the reason I tell you that is Jesus Christ said,
if you deny me, I will deny you to the Father.

(00:48):
If you're a Christian, you're certainly not ashamed, but don't
try to change the sin to happy holidays. It's merry Christmas.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
This is the Uncle Henry Show here on news Radio
sevent ten WNT. Thank you so much for listener to
the Uncle Hender Show. I appreciate that bear much. Here

We had a lot of awful things going on this
weekend as well. I hope you had good things go
on in your life. Uh, if you'd like to call
the show. Always love having living callers to the Uncle

(02:34):
Embers Show. Two five one four seven nine two seven
two three two five one four seven nine two seven
two three The telephone number to call the Uncle Hendverers
Show if you want to bring something up. If there's
something you just want to talk about, feel free to
bring it up. As long as it's not about por not,
you know, pornographic stuff, human reproduction, anything like that, scatological issues.
I don't want to hear any of that, but anything else.

(02:55):
Would love to get your phone call on plenty to
get into first. Did get a very brief voicemail today.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Co Tyler, welcome back Uncle, and Marry Christmas to you.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Merry Christmas to you too, Merry Christmas to you the
listener of the Uncle Henry Show. And I'll take this

add have a Blessed Christmas that's out there for you too,
have a Blessed Christmas. That's an additional layer of Christmas

(03:28):
greeting that you can add to the Merry Christmas. Have
I Merry Christmas. And a blessed Christmas. Now, let's see
before I get to any news items, any other things
on my mind, that voicemail was welcoming me back. The
last couple of days of last week, I didn't do
live Uncle Henry shows on news radio seven to ten
WNTM because I was working on ninety five casts Jay

(03:50):
helping out with the radiothon ninety five ks Jays Radiothon
to benefit Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital. If you happen
to be one of the people that donated to that,
we want to thank you very very much for your generosity.
The Radiothon this year raised two hundred and sixty seven

(04:14):
three hundred and forty four dollars, so thank you. If
you're one of those folks that contributed to that, thank
you very very much for helping out and get that
money up to Saint Jude to help those people that
are fighting cancer up there, all the families that are
dealing with it, and all the doctors and researchers that
are learning things and sharing the knowledge. Thank you for
your donation to the Radiothon for Saint Jude. There on

(04:38):
ninety five KS Jay in the telephone number here two, five, one, four, seven,
nine two three. Now I tell you about something that's
happening in Mobile tomorrow. Now, Tomorrow night, there's going to
be this big Marti Gras parade. They're having the sixty
eight Ventures Bowl Game that is Wednesday at Hancock Whitney Stadium,

(05:02):
and tomorrow night because there's going to be people in
from out of town for that bowl game. Tomorrow night,
they're having a gigantic Marti Gras parade in downtown Mobile
starting at six thirty PM, sponsored by Grier's Markets, one
of the sponsors of the Uncle Henry Show, and I
believe sponsored by This is Alabama. This Marti Gras parade
will have floats from twenty Mystic organizations. So there's yes,

(05:29):
twenty floats. So if you like that kind of thing,
and a lot of people living here really do. So
if you like that kind of thing, you got that
parade tomorrow night in downtown Mobile beginning at six point thirty.
Now there's something else going on tomorrow evening in downtown Mobile.

(05:49):
This is in the atrium of Government Plaza. The new
Young Mayor Spiro is holding a press conference at four
point thirty in the afternoon. Young Mayor Spiro along with
his Director of Public Safety. They're holding a press conference
to announce the creation of the Safer Communities Task Force. Yes,

(06:15):
a task force for a safer community. Many of us
would like to have a safer community. There was a
lot of stuff going on a Mobile over the last
several days, police chases and things like that. Somebody in midtown,
somebody tried to steal somebody's e bike and I think
shooting the person that was riding the e bike or something.

(06:38):
But anyway, we'd all like safer community, wouldn't we Well.
I got the press release right in front of me,
sent out by Jason Johnston with the City of Mobile.
The press release reads as follows. Tuesday, December sixteenth, Young
Mayor Spiro will convene the first meeting of the Safer

(07:01):
Communities Task Force, a group of local leaders focused on
strengthening violence prevention efforts across the City of Mobile. The
task Force, established by Young Mayor Spirou, will advise the
city's public safety leadership on data informed strategies aimed at

(07:22):
reducing serious violence in improving court By the way, I
hate to interrupt a press release, but any violence directed
toward me, even if it's somebody just lightly slapping me,
I consider that serious anyway. This is aimed at reducing
serious violence and improving coordination among the agencies and organizations

(07:46):
already working with at risk youth and families and mobile
This group will represent or will have it representatives from
local public safety, public health, and educational instants, as well
as faith based social service, workforce development, and community organizations.

(08:07):
Some of these partners already work with a city in
different capacities, and bringing them together on a regular basis
will improve communication, reduce duplication, and better aligned local resources.
Their press release goes on to say that by combining
professional expertise with strong community times, the Safer Communities task

(08:29):
Force will provide the mayor and other city leaders with
a clearer picture of where gaps exist and how existing
programs and services can be better aligned to serve individuals
in the community. So that press conference tomorrow at four
point thirty, and they say that they will have a
complete list of the task force members for us provided

(08:53):
at tomorrow's events. So tomorrow, a task Force for a
Safer Community.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
It's the Uncle Henry Show on News Radio seven ten WNTM.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Uncle Henry Show News Radio seven ten WNTM. It is
five twenty. We have some new said lines coming up
in ten minutes. Telephone number if you'd like to call
the on Clenary show. You can call me on Cleanary
Show two five to one four seven nine two seven
two three. That's two five one four seven nine two
seven two three. Email address Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot com. Yes,

(09:47):
I do accept the old fashioned electronic mail messages. I see,
I've already got a caller waiting. Hello color, Hi, Hey
you are live on the radio.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Hey, I love your show.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Well, thank you.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
I wrote a poem about it. Can I read it
upon your show?

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yeah, you know what, I love it? And before you
read the poem, just to any listener, if you're creative
out there, anybody that wants to read a poem that
you wrote on the show, I love that. If you'd
like to sing on the show, maybe you just don't.
You're a good singer and there's nobody around to listen
to you call in. I don't mind if you sing.
Whatever it is you play musical instagment, and yeah, instead

(10:37):
of talking politics here and play little jingle bells or something.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
All right?

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Anyway, Yes, please read your poem.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Okay, here we go when it comes to local events.
So Uncle Henry's show has the final words. And thanks
to that heart radio app, I can listen while I dropped.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
This many Ay all right, look now, nothing new askety
was said. But I could anticipate a bad rhyme coming up.
I could, I could. I could anticipate a bad rhyme.
And there's some words. And look, ordinarily I'd like to

(11:15):
take somebody that calls like that and just just I
think violently, and I'm trying to stop myself from thinking.
VI the least I need to start thinking about praying
for that person, just really praying for him, praying the
devil out of them, and getting other people to pray
the devil out of them. But I'll admit I hate
to admit this, but I'm sharing with you my innermost

(11:37):
private thoughts right now. I guess I don't know why
I feel so close to you, the listener, right now,
but I do. I just feel like I can reveal
to you, the listener, my intermost laws. When they call in.
You know, my first thought is how i'd like to well,
I'm not I don't want to say we've had it's
been too violent the world. If you just look at
the news over the weekend, the amount of violence here

(11:58):
in other countries just awful, So many terrible stories. But
I so I don't want to tell you, but it's
the first thing when somebody calls in and there's a
nasty rhyme. This person wants to make a rhyme just
to drag this show riding into the toilet along with
the rest of the world. Just drag us right down
into the devil's toilet. My first thought is a violent reaction.

(12:24):
It is. It's and maybe that's just human nature that
my nature is that I just went again. I almost
described what I wanted to do to that guy, and
I'm not going to do that. That's my first thought,
is a violent thought. But now I'm going to now
turn my thoughts to praying for that disgusting sleeves bag.

(12:48):
But he was about to rhyme with a word. You know,
there's a lot of words we just used to we
used to not say in public, and it was good.
Society was better off when people didn't say all these
horrible words. And now they're everywhere.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
The only place you don't hear those words these days
is on broadcast radio because it's still regulated by the
federal government, and you can't say nasty words on the radio,
they'll come after you and find you. And on broadcast
television even but sometimes some of those will slip through
on broadcast TV just a little bit here and a
little bit there, but everywhere else. These words are everywhere,

(13:32):
and they have really coarsened the dialogue in this country
where you got kids. You got five year olds, ten
year olds that sound like they're sound like merchant marine.
They do. They sound like merchant Marine sailors. All their
cuss words. Get a you get a nine year you
meet a nine year old, and they got a mouth

(13:52):
on them. Sounds like they've already they've already sailed around
the globe two or three times. It's sick. And if
you were raised that way, bad job by your parents.
And I know that's a horrible thing to say at Christmas.
They shouldn't let you do that. I apologize for raising

(14:12):
my voice, but it would needed to be said. These
cuss words, these words that aren't officially cusswords, but they're
still nasty. You know what they are? Quit doing it,
just quit. Make that a New Year's resolution that you're
not going to sound like a scumbag in twenty twenty six,
that's a good having a pure tongue. Maybe the rest

(14:35):
of your body it would be nasty. Make your tongue
pure in twenty twenty six. How about that you'd have
a better life. People would react to you better, they
would Where was I I don't even know. I can't remember.
If somebody called in wanted to rhyme, make some type
of scatological rhyme about this show, trying to drag this

(14:57):
show into the toilet. With all the stuff going on
the world that is so horrible, I don't want it
to happen. I'm gonna let it get dragged into the toilet.
Two five to one four seven nine two seven two three.
The telephone number. There's two five to one four seven
nine two seven two three. Email address Uncle henritehartma dot com.
Let me talk about something positive instead of the negative.

(15:18):
Over the weekend, I spent some time with family and
I went to a Christmas light display. If you have
not considered going to this, then you've got a family.
Think about going to Stockton, Alabama. Now I know you're
already discounting at Stockton. Well, yes, I know you're thinking
there's nothing up there. Yes, there is. Stockton has bi

(15:43):
Centennial Park. It's a big, beautiful park apparent Stockton, Alabama.
Ain't much around it, but it is all decorated up.
They have lots and lots of lights. Went up there
Saturday night with some family members, looked at all the
beautiful lights. Santa Claus was there with Missus Claws. Yes,

(16:08):
that wasn't expecting that Missus Claus was out with Santa.
They were there greeting the children. The Grinch was there.
They had food trucks, they had face painting, balloon animals.
There's no there's some much. It's just there's nothing more
fun than a three year old with a painted face

(16:28):
biting a balloon animal. Just fun. It's wholesome. So just
give it. Give it. I know it may take aways
to get up there, but if it takes if it
takes you a little time to get to Stockton, to
go up there to Bostontonial Park, you can listen to
Christmas music on your radio while you go. Yes, you
can tune over to ninety nine point nine FM and

(16:50):
listen to all that Christmas music that they play over there.
The only time you'd ever have to tune out is
when they play that Jessica There's I'm Jessica Simpson song
that they played that just you just almost want to
drive off the road and uninstall the radio. But other
than that song, it's good by Centennial Park, Stockton. You

(17:15):
can count on that that you'd have a good time
up there. All right, Look, when we come back, I
promise I'll get back to actual news items and topics
and things as the Uncle Henry Show continues, We're gonna
have to take a time out now, we're gonna we're
gonna in this time out here. We're gonna get some
news headlines. We'll have some local news, some state news,

(17:38):
some national and international news headlines. And then back on
the show and we'll get to some news items and
other stuff as the Uncle Henry Show proceeds forward here
on news Radio seventy ten a w NTM Uncle Henry's Show,

(18:19):
and it's five thirty five. Thank you for listening to
the Uncle Henry Show here on News Radio seven ten WNTM.
Telephone number two five one four seven nine two seven
two three. That's two five one four seven nine two
seventy two three. Email address Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot com.
That's uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot com. Now uh. In

(18:41):
our news break, I heard Lenise Lagon, one of the
most popular broadcasters of mobile television history. I heard Lenise
Lagon talking about getting medical advice from AI. She was
saying something to the effect that experts say you should
not rely on advice from AI for your medical stuff. Now,

(19:07):
maybe you do. I have no idea what you do.
I don't. I don't know if you use artificial intelligence
and ask it questions about your medical treatment and what
you should do and all that kind of stuff. But
let me add my voices or add my voice what
Lenis Lagan said. If you're thinking about using artificial intelligence

(19:27):
to help you make an important decision about your health
or anything else, I would encourage you to spend a
few minutes just asking artificial intelligence about where you live,
about your community, about the history of your community, just
to ask it stuff about where you where you live. See,

(19:51):
I've done this before. I ever thought to ask artificial
intelligence about my health or financial strategies, or or how
to repair something in my car, or anything like that.
I would ask AI questions about mobile in Baldwin County,

(20:16):
and two thirds of the time it was wrong. It
was always wrong. In fact, I asked it about I
asked it a question about mobile TV and radio once
and it made it made up all kinds of stuff.
So just before look, I'm not asking you to do
what I say, just uh, before you ask it important

(20:40):
health questions, ask it about your local, your your town.
Just to ask it about stuff that you know the
answer to and double check that it gives you the
right answers. All right, two five to one or seven
nine two seven two three. The telephone number that's two
five to one for seven email address Uncle Henry at

(21:02):
iHeartMedia dot com. That's Uncle Henry, iHeartMedia dot com. Now.
Last week on the ONL Clenary show, talked about one
of my favorite local news stories in years, which is
the rent dispute at Government Plaza between the county, the landlord,
and the city the tenant. Just I love the story. Now,

(21:23):
I'm I doubt that the city would leave. I think
a lot of this is just big negotiations out in public.
I don't really know. I don't know anybody behind the
scenes that's given me an info, but it seems like
a lot of big negotiations going on in the public.
But I did get some voicemails on the topic. Let's

(21:45):
see this one came in in the public.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Yes, I hope number for the Uncle Henry show.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Yes, it is the number for the ONLK. Cleanory show voicemailer.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Uh, just an observation. Someone was talking about the taxpayers
being upset because of the money that was wasted on
the rent of the building downtown. What about the money
that was wasted on taking down traffic lights downtown and
putting up stop signs, when, as one listener had recommended,

(22:18):
it would have been better just to take the traffic lights,
put them on red blinking and leave them alone.

Speaker 6 (22:25):
Yes, it would have saved a lot of time and
a whole lot of money. Yes, maybe someone needs to
look in to see food got the contract to do
all that work and was paid all that money.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Thank you all right, lady.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
God bless you. Thank you for that voice mail, because
I'm look, as I pointed out many many times when
they were telling us about how they were taking down
getting rid of the red lights and downtown mobile and
putting them stop signs, and this is going to be progress.
It'll make the streets more walkable, all this kind of stuff.

(22:59):
Of course, I guarantee you fifteen between fifteen and twenty
five years from now, somebody who's going to put up
red lights again and they're going to talk about how
finally we've got our red lights back up. It'll happen again. Lady,
thank you for the voicemail. Voicemail number two five one
two one six, nineteen seventy six, that's two five one

(23:19):
two one six, nineteen seventy six, to leave a message
for the Uncle Henry show. Now on the moving of
Government Plaza, which is going to cost it if well,
if the city did leave, which I don't believe that
they probably will, but if they were, we're to leave
Government Plaza. I mentioned to you last week that they

(23:43):
should look at a location that is actually not an
insult to the taxpayer, not an inconvenience to the taxpayer,
because it ain't convenient for a great number of mobilions
to have to go downtown to do any business with
the city mobile. It ain't. It's very inconvenient in an
insulting way to the taxpayer. Now I got this call

(24:08):
about that entire situation, and.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Penny on this.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Here city government leaving Government Ploza downtown. Penny, I tell
you what, Henry, philosophically, and only purely philosophically thinking, I
say that, you know, the city government, no matter what
city is in and the courthouses, I do believe they

(24:39):
belong downtown.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Really however, yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
I guarantee you anybody that has to go to the
courthouse regularly or works there, would love to see it
moved to like and take over like some an abandoned
walmart somewhere. The parking would be better still, these would
be better. It would be less of a hassle having

(25:08):
to go down to Government Plaza to do either city
business or court business. Then, if you if they had
a place, if they moved it from downtown, right, parkings
a nightmare? Yes, However, on the other side of the sword,

(25:30):
it is a double edged sword, by the.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Way it is.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
I do believe that if they moved out of downtown,
that would that would be a death blow to the
downtown area, especially the daytime lunch spots and restaurants, and
downtown would look like a ghost town.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Really. Well, now, Beaudford, what about all those awful lawyers
that are in There's all kind of law places crawling
with lawyers down there. They don't go to lunch in
the daytime.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
If if government Plaza was was moved out of that location.
But I don't know, Henry, It's come interesting to see
how this chase out. I don't know if there's if
the if they're wanting to move out, I can guarantee
you there is another location already in mind. They're not

(26:25):
gonna pull out of there without already having a location.
I'm sure one of the Fanny Stempson's relatives, probably in
commercial real estate, or somebody owns a building somewhere, perhaps
on Saint Louis Street, close to Grier's Market. But gonna

(26:47):
be interested to see what they do, Henry. But is
a I would like to see it stay downtown personally.
But I mean, if you're looking at it purely from
an efficiency and ease of access, yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Let's look at it for what would be best for
the taxpayer.

Speaker 4 (27:04):
Man, stick that somewhere out westboat Bill, well not westbo Bill,
but somewhere off the interstate, somewhere towards the Sara Land area,
somewhere it's easier to get in and out of anyway, Henter,
just my two cents. You have a good day.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
All right, thank you for sharing that I philosophically disagree
about where a city hall should be located. I would
like it to be located where it would be most
convenient for the citizenry. Number one. All right, there's more

(27:42):
to come. There's more Uncle Henry's show after the break.

(28:24):
This is the Uncle Henry Show. Merry Christmas to you
and have a blessed Christmas. We have news headlines coming
up in ten minutes. You could also hear me on
FM radio. I'm on ninety five Ksjay Monday through Friday
playing Today's hottest Country and all week long, I'll be
giving out tickets to Mustache the Band. Mustache the Band

(28:48):
in concert this Saturday night at Soul Kitchen and Downtown
Mobile Mustache the Band. They are a band that travels
the Southeast and they play nineties country music and they
really play. And what I mean by that is they
love what they do. This band just loves play in
the nineties country. It turns into a giant party. I've

(29:11):
already seen. I've seen this band a couple of times
already in the last couple of years. Mobile Loves Mustache
the Band, so anyway, Mustache the Band is this Saturday
night coming up at Soul Kitchen and Downtown Mobile and
your chance to win tickets all week long with me
on ninety five Ksjay, my wife and I we went
to We stayed in Meridian, Mississippi weeks ago when we

(29:36):
were going to see Alabama play and right next to
the hotel in Meridian there was a street party. They
blocked off all of downtown and Meridian. They were doing
a street party and the big musical act was Mustache
the Band. So yes, we keep running into Mustache the Band.
So that is Saturday night at Soul Kitchen and Downtown

(29:58):
Mobile one four seven nine two seven two three. The
telephone number here on the uncleannar Show two five one
four seven nine two seven two three. Email address Uncle
Henriet iHeartMedia dot com. Now there is a New York
lawyer that has filed a lawsuit with the IRS involving dogs.

(30:24):
This lawyer is asking the Internal Revenue Service in this
lawsuit to let a woman, Amanda Reynolds, claim her Golden
retriever Finnegan as a dependent on her taxes. She is
arguing that her dog meets all the requirements to be

(30:50):
a dependent except for being human. She wants to deduct
over five thousand in yearly pet care costs and get
tax credits. She says the dog relies on her completely
for food, shelter, medical care, just like a child. And

(31:13):
she's arguing also in the lawsuit that the service animals
get tax breaks but regular pets don't. Now, this is
probably going to fail in the courts. I say, it's
probably gonna fail now, It'll probably fail next year when

(31:33):
it ends up in the courts. But keep your eye
on this because I don't know how many years from now,
ten years, fifteen, twenty twenty five, somebody's gonna win this lawsuit.
They're gonna do it again. Yes, you know how people
have changed their attitudes toward dogs, Even in the last
thirty to forty years in this country, people have changed

(31:56):
their attitudes toward pets, especially dogs already in my lifetime.
I've come from a time where people kept dogs in
the yard. Now they've got their dogs sleeping on top
of their head in bed there.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
Now.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
When I was signing up for open enrollment this year
with my company, with all the health plans and things
it's opening rolla time I was offered some type of
pet insurance. Yes, through the company. Do I want some
additional pet insurance? Now? One day this is gonna happen.

(32:44):
Watch out, one day this is this is, this is
people are gonna people are gonna rise up and they're
gonna they're gonna feel like they need to be able
to treat their their dogs as dependents. This is It
ain't gonna happen now, It'll happen in the future. I've
always this is something you need to keep your eye
on and other arenas as well. You know, this is

(33:07):
a lawsuit against the r S trying to be able
to claim a dog as a dependent. People are gonna
keep finding lawsuits on behalf of animals and eventually they're
gonna start winning more and more cases to where they're
gonna start ascribing certain rights. I know this sounds nuts

(33:29):
to you. It's coming. Dogs are gonna have rights more
than they do now. One day you might get One
day you you might get sued by a dog. And
I know that sounds insane. It could happen. One day
somebody is gonna assue you on behalf of a dog.

(33:53):
They'll win, right, there's more. Look, there's yes, there's even
more Uncle Henry Show to come, but first going to
take a time out for news headlines from Fox, words
from our sponsors, and then more Uncle Henry Show here
on News Radio seven ten WNTF.
