It says the Uncle Henry Show here on news Radio
seven ten wnt M. Yes, I know you're shocked. I'm
still here. Yes, still employed, still employed, very excited to
(02:55):
still be employed and still doing this show for you
here on news radio seven ten wnt M. Once again,
here we are together, trying to figure out me and you.
It's just me and you here trying to figure out
what is going on, what is going on, what's going
on in the world around us. Maybe we can make
sense of it together if you have anything you want
(03:16):
to bring forward, you would just want to chat. Maybe
there's just some something you want to talk about, maybe
of gigantic consequence or or low consequence whatever. Two five
one four seven nine two seven two three The telephone
number to reach the Uncle Henry show. That's two five
one four seven nine two seven two three. Email address
Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot com. Now, ordinarily, I am
(03:37):
also presenting this program in video form for a small
number of people that don't well I don't even know
why they're watching, but there's a small number of people
that like to look as I struggle here to put
thoughts together into the microphone. Uh, the yesterday we had
a thunderstorm rolled through while I was on the air,
(03:58):
and I think we had some kind of power surgers
or something, whatever it was. The video computer has been
done destroyed. So yes, the video computer has been done destroyed.
And so no video, just old fashioned radio, just old
fashioned me talking into the microphone and the signal going
to the transmitter and on beautiful telegraph road. What a
(04:21):
beautiful swamp it is? It is We have a beautiful
swamp area that our transmitter tower is in and from
there it goes out to all the radios, to all
the radios, picking up the signal in some people's dental
work there on telegraph roads. So it's just me and
you on the radio today. Now, before I get into
any exciting topics, any news items. And we've had on
(04:45):
the national level, just one after the other, so many.
I don't even know how to talk about all these things.
I'd like to tell you about a fun just a
really fun start to my day. Had a wonderful fun
Friday start. Got up this morning and uh walked one
of my dogs. And this was this was right before sunrise,
(05:08):
I guess, run right around at six o'clock this morning.
My wife was out on the back deck and she
yelled to me, Velma, I think Velma has something, Velma,
one of my dogs. She said, I think Velma's got something.
I said, what do you mean? She said, Velma just
(05:29):
took off. Villma just ran, just shot to the to
the back of the yard. I think Velma's got something,
maybe a squirrel or something. So I walked out with
a flashlight to see what the dog had gotten. And
my dog, Velma, uh walked up with a possum. Yes, yes,
(05:49):
my dog caught a possum this morning, and the possum, uh,
the possum was laying there in the grass, motionless. We
got Velma the dog away from the possum, and we
got Velma into the house away from the possum. My
wife was so upset. Because my wife is very similar
(06:11):
to the snake trapper. She's developed an affection for the possum.
She believes that the possum is a positive force in
our lives and in our neighborhoods, eating all kinds of
things like bugs and just we've grown to be affectionate
toward and appreciative toward the possum and the possum's role
that it plays in the circle of life that we
(06:33):
were taught by. We were taught about the circle of life,
of course, by the Lion King film. So I said, okay,
she was so upset about that possum, and so I said, well,
don't worry about it. You keep the dog in the
house and I will I will take care of the possum.
I'm going to remove the possum from the yard. And
so there the possum was laying in the yard, and
(06:57):
I walked over to the shed. I said, well, what
am I going to do? I get a shovel, and
I looked. I had an old plastic garden center pot. Said,
I'll just put the I put the possum corpse in
the in this flower pot, and just figure out what
I'm gonna do with this this possum. Uh. But as
(07:18):
soon as I turned to the possum, the possum was gone. Yes,
the possum was playing possum. Congratulations. The possum played possum.
It fooled the dog, it fooled me. And when I
turned around, the possum was gone. So hats off. I'm
not wearing a hat, but if I were wearing a hat,
(07:39):
it would be off to the possum and that wonderful
trait that it has of playing possum, getting us to
let our guard down. The dog runs in. I turned
to the shed, and I believe it's too. As soon
as I went into that shed, that possum made its exit.
So what a wonderful creature it is, the possum. It
was a fun It was a fun way to start
(08:01):
today to have the possib escape death there in the backyard.
All right, look, big things to talk about. I've already
got callers that have lined up, So callers, hang on.
I will get to you as soon as I can.
But I do have a break approaching in less than
a minute. Traffic, weather, words from our luxurious sponsors, and
(08:22):
then more Uncle Henry Show. We got oh boy, we
got it. We got stories to get into today on
just about every level. And I've got some things to
share with you. So all of that as we move forward. Now,
if you miss seeing me on video, you can always
go look at the old shows on video on YouTube.
(08:43):
Just look for Uncle Henry's Show on YouTube and please
subscribe to it. This is a favor a right back
with callers and more. As the Uncle Henry Show continues
here on News Radio seventy ten WNTM. It is five
(09:21):
point twenty Uncle Henry's Show. News headlines coming up in
ten minutes. Telephone number two five one four seventy nine
two seven two three. I've got callers who have been
very patiently waiting, So let me grab these phone calls.
Hello color, Hello, Yes, sir, oh.
Speaker 8 (09:45):
I just.
Speaker 9 (09:48):
I'm very pro possible too. They you know, they really
clean up a lot of bugs around the place, and
they clean up just about anything because Ellie just about anything.
Speaker 8 (10:01):
Yes.
Speaker 9 (10:02):
But the other thing that I'm having a problem with
is the Democrats that are so pro illegal aliens, and
that are so pro men and women's sports, and are
so pro that I just heard that, you know lately
(10:24):
again they want to get into ballot harvesting, and it's
just you just can't have a democracy if you're that
slanted to causes that just don't make any sense to
(10:44):
me whatsoever. It almost feels like they want to create
a massive problems between the people of this country, and
they're trying to divide us. But they're, in my opinion,
are absolutely on the wrong foot, and they're going in
absolutely the wrong direction.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Well you're saying they're trying to divide us, it looks
like they have succeeded. They have They pretty much divided us,
haven't they?
Speaker 9 (11:14):
Yes? Yes, And I hate to see that.
Speaker 10 (11:17):
Uh uh.
Speaker 9 (11:20):
I served in the military. I was in combat and
the last thing on my mind was the waste of
whoever was next to me helping us both survive. And
I just can't appreciate at any level the division, this
(11:44):
conscious effort to divide everybody any way that they think
is they being the Democrats or think as possible. So, uh,
I'm totally disgusted, quite frankly.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Well, it is it's discussing because other people are too. Well, yeah,
we we've we've got It looks like a generation or
maybe more than one generation that have been raised to
think the worst of this country first, that they that
they any of the good of this country forgotten and
only highlight the mistakes with such a resentment towards the country.
(12:21):
It's it's just awful.
Speaker 9 (12:25):
Well, I think, uh, the major part of it was, uh,
when I grew up, Uh, we had assemblies every morning
and uh at school and we said a prayer and uh.
And that's obviously what's missing now is uh people trying
(12:49):
to do what's right and what's godly and what's tries
to do what actually makes sense and makes your right easier.
If that's the main point. If you're trying to do
the right thing, your life is so much simpler.
Speaker 8 (13:07):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (13:09):
And that's just the fact, and that is true. Okay, Well,
I appreciate you giving me this chance to express my opinion.
And I hope people back our current president as much
as they can and the Republicans, because I really feel
like we have some men Uh. In women in the
(13:35):
in this current and their government right in the Republicans
effort right now that are based on doing what's right
and being in that essentially that's it.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
All right. Well, hey, thank you very much. I appreciate
you listening. I appreciate you calling. And of course, uh,
and I think I speak for a lot of people listening. Uh,
they would say thank you for your service to the country.
Thank you for the phone call two five one four
seven nine two three the telephone number to call here
on the Uncle Henry Show. Hello, caller, good Bert, Bert,
(14:12):
you are live on the radio.
Speaker 8 (14:16):
A dare to ago. I just got the most incredibly
good news that I've gotten this whole year.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Well, what is it?
Speaker 8 (14:25):
They have slot machines at Mobile Greyhound Park. Now, the
Porch Creek Indians bought the property and they can put
up slot machines on any tribal property. And they have
installed slot machines at Mobile Greyhound Park.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Now this will okay, So this is now to explain
to me why this is the best news of the
year for you so far.
Speaker 8 (14:51):
I have been an advocate of legalized gambling in this
state for at least ten years. On this Showy Mobile
finally has it. We don't have to go all the
way to act more. I got a quick little story
to tell you about Mobile Greyhound Park, back when it
was the dog track there. I used to go there
with my parents and my aunt who later became my
(15:13):
stepmom all the time when I was younger. And one
night I had been betting and losing all night and
still help me. On every ticket there was a random
series of letters, a random series of four letters on
the ticket, and after about the fifth or sixth I
(15:34):
had lost, I bought a ticket and the random letters
spelled out the word quit.
Speaker 5 (15:43):
It.
Speaker 8 (15:44):
I lost that race, and I said, all right, the
ticket's telling me something.
Speaker 9 (15:48):
I didn't bet no more that night.
Speaker 8 (15:50):
I saved that ticket for years. So help me and
Uncle Henry. One more political point I want to make.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Please the.
Speaker 8 (16:00):
Democrats whining about this so called political prosecution of Tomy.
You know, Alvin Bragg sat on his case against Trump
for three years waiting to see if Trump was going
to announce that he's going to seek reelection, And just
as soon as Trump made that announcement, then they start
filing fellony charges against him. Tell me again about political
(16:23):
prosecutions for goodness sake, unreal, Uncle Henry. It's a double
standard like nothing I've ever seen.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Yeah, it is, And I have a feeling most people
see that. I think they should if they've paid any
attention at all. I think most people see it.
Speaker 8 (16:39):
I sure hope. So thank you for taking McConnell to him.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Thank you, thank you for sharing a news item with
the uncle here show and rip van rock.
Speaker 8 (16:46):
That's tonight, right tonight, starting at eight point thirty at
the M and R Lounge on Theodore Dawes Road. It's
at the end of a little strip mall. If you
see a bunch of cars parked at the end of
a strip mall, that's the club.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
All right, very good, Thank you, Bert, And there he
goes Burt. Now. Bert plays keyboards and does some lead vocals.
So if you want to see Bert in action playing music, singing,
that's tonight at that M and R on Theodore Don's Road.
(17:21):
Two five to one, four seven, nine two three the
telephone number here getting ready to go into another break.
But yes, the Komi indictment. I don't have a lot
of confidence he'll be convicted, but I think the trial
will be quite educational. All of the very high profile
(17:44):
people that may have to trot up there and testify it,
(18:09):
says The Uncle Henry Show here on news Radio seven
ten WNTM, a wonderful Friday broadcast. Ordinarily I'd also be
doing this on video, but my video computer has died. Yes,
the video computers dead. So it's just me and you
(18:33):
on the radio. The old fashioned way telephone number if
you want to bring something up to five one four
seven nine two seven two three. That's two five one
four seven nine two seven two three. Email address Uncle
Henry at iHeartMedia dot com. That's Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia
dot com. Lots of so many things to talk about,
so many things to get into on the Uncle Henry Show.
(18:55):
Now in the last in the last segment, Bert called in.
One of the last things he mentioned was the Komy indictment,
and now I'd mentioned personal opinion time. I don't I
don't know that there will be a conviction here.
Speaker 8 (19:09):
Personal opinion time, Personal opinion time, Personal opinion time.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
I don't know that there'll be an actual conviction, but
I think it'll be worth it'll be now probably should
be just based on the evidence they've already shown us.
We've had all kind of declassified documents coming out over
the past couple of months. Tulsi Gabbard. One of the
reasons some folks in government have not liked Tulsi Gabbard
(19:35):
is her declassifying all these documents. She's declassified documents that
pretty much show that things that Komi said in testimony
to Congress weren't actually what happened. The documents show that
different things happened. So the documents that have been leaked,
a lot of them, they contradict the testimony of Komi. Now,
(20:00):
I still don't think I still think they will probably
not be able to convict him, but I think it'll
be worthwhile to have all of the high profile people
parade through and testify. I'm just there for the testimony
to learn, just to get a little more transparency about
what was actually going on there. But listen to all
(20:22):
these other stories now, listen. Aside from the COMI thing
that's taking up a lot of oxygen, President Trump today
has gone on the x app or truth social or
wherever it is that he's putting out his tweets. He
has said that he wants to consider declassifying and releasing
(20:46):
everything that the government has on Amelia Airhart. What Amelia Airhart?
Are their secret government files on Amelia Earhart? That's what
President Trump says. He says, I am ordering my administration
(21:08):
to declassify and release all government records related to Amelia Earhart,
her final trip, and everything else about her. So now
what what what would be in there now? Is she
working for the government or something we didn't know about it?
(21:28):
And why would it still be classified anyway? All right,
that is something I never saw coming, some type of
Amelia Earhart disclosure. Now also today, and this will probably
be talked about a lot over the weekend. The House
Oversighted Democrats released a third batch of redacted documents today
(21:53):
from the Jeffrey Epstein estate. And these new documents about
EPSO include daily schedules, flight manifests, financial ledgers, and there
are some familiar names that are popping up that are connected. Now.
These files reference Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Steve Bannon, and
(22:23):
Prince Andrew. Now some of this is suggesting a and
I don't know if this is confirmed yet, but a
potential trip by Elon Musk to Epstein Island. Now they
say there's no evidence of criminal involvement in any of this,
(22:45):
but more calls for everything to be released and unredacted.
So elon Musk to Epstein Island possibly and the name
Peter Thiel. Now in case you're not familiar or he
doesn't pop up enough for you to keep up with.
In Peter Thiel, big time tech entrepreneur, venture capitalist, co
(23:12):
founder of a co founder of PayPal. I think he
was a big investor in Facebook and Pallunteer Technologies, and
I hope I'm pronouncing that right. Heolunteer Technologies now Heollunteer
Technologies does big business with the United States government. It
(23:35):
specializes in data analytics software that our government is using
for surveillance and military intelligence. This is a huge there.
I don't know how many how much money is involved,
but this is huge the amount of money that that
company is involved with with our government. In Peter Thiel,
(23:57):
now Peter Theil in connection to Epstein. Another person that
has strong connections to Peter Thiel would be the vice
president jd Vance. Peter Thiel pretty much created the political
career of jd Vance. After jd Vance's book came out,
(24:18):
Peter Thiel hired him to work for one of his companies,
and he also invested in a jd Vance company. You
might remember that jd Vance used to say horrible things
about Donald Trump. He used to say horrible things about
Donald Trump. I think he once referred to Donald Trump
as America's Hitler or something like that. Yeah, jd Vance.
(24:41):
And so it was Peter Thiel that took jd Vance
tomorrow lago to broke her peace between jd Vance and
Donald Trump. And that meeting Peter theele and jd Vanced
going tomorrow a lago, earned jd vanced Donald Trump's endorsement.
(25:03):
I believe in his Senate race, jd Vance would not
be vice president. Jd Vance wouldn't be a Senator if
it weren't for Peter Thiel. So and there is there
is Peter Thiel now being connected to Epstein in some
(25:27):
form or fashion. So I have no idea where any
of this will go, but fascinating that once again, this
is a Friday afternoon drop of information. Also, if you're
one of the people that's not a fan of the
Patriot Act, you don't like it. I'm sure that if
(25:53):
we didn't have the Patriot Act, they wouldn't have all
that data that the pallenteer software analyzes. So in order
for paolunteer to make all that government money, they really
want the Patriot Act to stay in full effect and
(26:14):
from now to the end of time. So in the future,
don't ever expect JD Vance to be against the Patriot Act.
It's not going to happen. Not gonna happen. But anyway,
isn't it all fascinating how all these things connect and
are tied up with each other. So Epstein files released today,
(26:35):
some of them from the House Oversight Democrats, and how
can you can understand why the Democrats would want to
release this batch with Elon Musk being included in there
and feel but also President Trump wanting Amelia Earhart files
to be released. I'm interested in all of the files.
(27:00):
In fact, I think a lot of stuff is classified
in our government that probably doesn't need to be isn't
really classified for national security purposes. A lot of stuff
is probably classified to avoid embarrassment of people. Yes, the
(27:28):
music means that I have excellent taste in bumper music.
It also means that we have to go to a
break for a traffic report for the weather and also
to hear from our lovely sponsors. And then back with
more Uncle Henry's Show. Uncle Henry Show News Radio seventy
(28:05):
ten WNTM. It is five point fifty. We have news
headlines coming up in ten minutes. Telephone number here two
five one four seventy nine two seventy two three. That's
two five one four seventy nine two seventy two three.
(28:28):
You can also leave me a voicemail. The voicemail line
is available twenty four hours a day. You can leave
that voicemail two five one two one six nineteen seventy six.
That's two five one two one six nineteen seventy six
to leave a message for the Uncle Henry Show. And
let's see, I've got a message here from longtime Uncle
(28:48):
Henry Show caller Buford.
Speaker 5 (28:51):
And of this, Henry. Have you heard from Freddy.
Speaker 8 (28:57):
In some time? You know?
Speaker 5 (29:00):
Remember old Freddy?
Speaker 1 (29:01):
He would call yeah, let me let me say no,
I haven't heard from him. He was If you're new
to the show. Freddy used to call the Uncle Henry
Show quite a bit, even came in as a guest
a couple of times. But it's been about it's ever
since I've been on in the afternoon. When I moved
out of mornings, that's when Freddy stopped calling the show.
(29:25):
So this time of day doesn't doesn't work for Freddy
apparently if he's still with us. But uh no, I
hadn't heard from him in three or four years.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
Remember old Freddy. He would call and he would be
so dis orientating that we had the Freddy alarm, Remember that, Henry,
that old, right, old school Chuck Norris type old war
movie alarm like air raid siren. Man was magnificent. Man,
you know, I thoroughly enjoyed when Freddy would call. I'd
(29:57):
always call and you know, and tell you about his
water bill, and he owes the water company thousands of dollars.
And man, he'd always asked you to fix his water bill, Henry,
as if you were a part of the secret Cabal
of mobile, you know, shadow government that could fix those things.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
But by the way, one time he gave me a
copy of his water bill.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
Yes, you know, even though I disagreed with him politically,
But man, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Freddy. I imagine
he's way way up in years now. But uh, you know,
I hope he's well. I hope he's doing well.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
Me too. I hope he's doing well. Yes, disagreed with
him politically on almost everything, but he he was and
I hope still is just a very sweet person. He
had a sweetness to him and just a great fan,
just raised great kids. Just a well a little bit
(31:03):
more on that, but let me get to the end
of your message.
Speaker 5 (31:06):
And uh, anyway, and I just figured Colin asked about
old Freddy if he calls in, let him know that.
Uh we we miss him and thoroughly enjoyed the many,
many years of of of calling that he provided us.
He really added to year program. I believe he really did.
And uh, man, he was. He was a typical am
(31:28):
radio caller, especially with the water bill complaints. Man, I
love that. Anyway, hen hope Freddy's doing well and praying
for him and his family.
Speaker 9 (31:39):
You have a good.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
Dayford, Thank you, Thank you for walking me down memory lane.
Uh with that. Uh if Beauford, if you're really interested,
uh yeah, and want to see Freddy he can't. When
when this show was we had about an eight month
period when the Uncle Henry Morning Radio Show was also
(32:02):
on broadcast television. It was on the CW and back
when I was on local television on the CW and
on radio. I invited Freddie and his kids to be
on the show with me, and those videos are available
on the Uncle Henry Show YouTube channel. I put him
on there about eight years ago. So just go look
(32:25):
on the Uncle Henry Show YouTube channel and go back
to the videos from about eight years ago and you
will be able to find Freddie and his kids. You'll
see great just what a great family. In fact, one
time he came as a guest and he brought a
wig and wanted to play He wanted to play a character.
(32:50):
He wanted to play his own cousin on the show. Yeah,
it sounds weird, and it was. It was quite weird.
So if you want to see that that is also
him and the wig. You can see all that on
the Uncle Henry Show YouTube channel. And if you do
decide to check that out sometime this weekend, please subscribe
(33:12):
to the YouTube channel. It'll help me out. But yeah,
Freddie was a great caller and he showed up at
a lot of live broadcasts and one year, this would
have been maybe twoy ten or thereabouts, or maybe even
earlier than that. It wasn't planned, but I rode a
(33:37):
radio station bus to Jazz Fest monitoring Jazz Fest for
the radio stations, and Freddie was on the bus, and
so I rode a bus to and from New Orleans
with Freddy. Great guy to ride a bus with. Thanks
(34:00):
for the call again the voicemail number two five one
two one six, nineteen seventy six. All right, there is
more Uncle Henry Show coming up after the Fox News break.
(34:35):
It says, the Uncle Henry Show here on News Radio
seventy ten WNTM. Thank you. I appreciate you listening to
the Uncle Henry Show. In this hilf hour of show,
going to get to some news items that I want
to learn about. So I'm going to cover some news
items before I get to any of the news items, though,
(34:58):
A quick voicemail from the retired mad Trucker. As you're aware,
probably Mobile, Alabama getting a hockey team. I think it's
going to be twenty twenty seven, if I understand correctly.
With the new arena that the City of Mobile is
using your tax dollars to build in downtown Mobile, part
of this is going to involve a brand new hockey team.
(35:19):
And they're right now they're trying to figure out what
to name the hockey team. The retired mad trucker LD
with a suggestion on what to name the hockey team.
Speaker 5 (35:31):
Hey, uncle Henry LD, I've got two great names for
the hockey team. What about the mobile punk ups puck ups?
Speaker 8 (35:41):
I like that?
Speaker 1 (35:44):
All right?
Speaker 5 (35:44):
Now?
Speaker 1 (35:44):
Wait, I don't know a lot about hockey. Is that
a hockey phrase? Have your pucks up? Or something like that?
Is there a point in the game where they say
something like all the pucks are up or something like
I don't understand. I don't understand what you're driving in here.
But is that a hockey term? The do they say
that in hockey games?
Speaker 8 (36:07):
Hockey? See?
Speaker 5 (36:08):
What about the mobile punk ups puck ups? I like that?
What about this? You're right, we did have hockey twice.
Why don't we call them the two timers? Mobile two timers?
Speaker 1 (36:25):
All right? Well, thank you LD for your suggestions. Next
time I run into anybody involved with this, I'll ask them, uh,
what about the puck ups? All right? The number if
you want to leave a message two five one two
one six, nineteen seventy six. That's two five one two
one six, nineteen seventy six to leave a message for
the uncle Henry show. I don't really understand a lot
(36:47):
about hockey. I do know you're supposed to try and
get a puck in the net, similar to kicking a
soccer ball into the soccer net. But hockey more attractive
than soccer because hockey has fighting in it. Now. I
don't know how you get into a hockey fight. I
don't know what the rules are. I have no clue.
(37:12):
I just know people skate every now and they bump
into each other and beat each other up, and that
the beatings does make it more attractive to me as
a viewer than soccer is attractive. All right, let's see
news items? What news items can I get into here?
On the Uncle Henry Show, let's see. I think it
(37:32):
was yesterday they had some type of teen driver safety
summit trying to encourage teenagers that are going to be
driving to not wreck their vehicles and kill people with
their vehicles. This is a brief report from Lonise Lagon.
(37:53):
Lnise Lagan probably the most popular broadcaster in mobile right
now here she is talking about the the safety summit
for teenagers.
Speaker 7 (38:02):
License is a rite of passage, but a wrong turn
can change everything. Today's students from Lower Alabama schools learn
the importance of safe driving at your Keys to Drive summit.
I had the honor of him seeing that event. Seminar
puts teens in the driver's seat with real life lessons
from distracted driving goggles to experiencing what happens in the
(38:26):
trauma room. The student's got a.
Speaker 1 (38:28):
Wake up what happens in the trauma room now? And
I'm going to assume that means that they show you
what happens if to your body, if you're getting a
car wreck or something like that, what happens in the
trauma room. That's probably good. Let them know if you
keep staring at your phone instead of the road in
front of you, you might end up in a trauma room.
Speaker 7 (38:47):
What happens in the trauma room, the student's got a
wake up call on the dangers you have on the road.
Mike Lerkinkirchen returned as the keynote speaker this year. He's
a father of former All Room Full Fall star of
Philip Lutson Kirkin, who died after he got into a
car with a drunk driver.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
My son, Philip Lutson kirk and an Auburn student athlete
from twenty nine to twelve National champion champions as sophomore,
two time captain who lost his life in a single
vehicle crash as a backseat passenger. So we created the
Lutzi forty three Foundation.
Speaker 7 (39:20):
To honor Philip, and as you heard, that foundation honors
his son. It challenges teenagers to take forty three seconds
before every trip and ask themselves, so I have clear eyes,
clear hands, a clear mind, and is my.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Seat belt on? Okay? I'm glad they're doing these kind
of things. I'm I'm surprised we don't have more accidents.
And I say that because it's each day goes by,
after we've talked about this over and over and over again.
As each day goes by, I see more distracted drivers
than ever before, more people just staring at their phones.
(39:58):
I know one guy in his late twenties. No, I know,
he's twenty nine years old. I know a twenty nine
year old that has a smartphone mounted in his car
right up near the steering wheel. And this guy is
streaming ESPN on that phone. He's not listening to it,
(40:24):
he's watching it while he's driving. I don't know how
he does it. I don't know how he does it.
He's watching And I know this because I rode with
this twenty nine year old during It was last Saturday,
during ESPN's Game Day. Saban was on there and he
was just he was looking at that phone driving down
the road. I thought, I hope we make it. I
(40:44):
hope we live in this car all right? Anyway, stop
doing that. Stop looking at your phones while you're driving. Now,
what else can I share with you? Here's a story
from WBrC in Birmingham, chance to do with police up
in that part of the state warning, this is another
(41:06):
teenager story, warning teenagers to stop running around shooting cars
and people's homes with paintball guns. Let's find out what's
going on up there.
Speaker 6 (41:20):
Section to five cars that were paintballed in Coaling. Investigators
say it happened Monday night around eight at the Coaling
Ballpark near next door to the Coaling Town Hall. Lise.
One miner was charged with criminal mischief and a similar
situation in Jefferson County where homegoing pranks are becoming or
(41:42):
taken too far.
Speaker 4 (41:43):
That's right.
Speaker 10 (41:44):
The Kimberly Police Department taking to Facebook last night after
reports of kids shooting paintball guns into homes and cars.
Your reporter Jillian Brooks is live right now with what
parents need to know about this Jillian.
Speaker 11 (41:58):
Brittany Sarah Kimberly police last night say that children who
shoot a paintball gun into somebody's property, whether that's their
home or their car, could be charged with a felony. Now,
they're asking you to have conversations with your kids about
the severity of a prank like this.
Speaker 12 (42:13):
Kimberly Police say they receive reports of juveniles walking and
driving in neighborhoods dressed in all black, shooting paintball guns
into homes and cars.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
It's just gonna get some kid's gonna get killed. You
know this.
Speaker 12 (42:25):
The post on Facebook saying this is not a harmless
homecoming tradition, but a serious felony offense. Jefferson County School
says they do not condone this behavior. Ahead of homecoming week,
the school sent a newsletter home reminding parents of curfew times.
Anyone who breaks the curfew could appear in court and
pay a fine. In the newsletter, Mortimore Jordan High School
Principal Rodney Raglan said, quote, please be careful as you
(42:48):
go through the week. If someone asks students to leave
their premises, please have them do so without argument or disrespect.
We want everyone to have a fun.
Speaker 1 (42:57):
Lord, have mercy, all right? Will it makes toilet papering
somebody's yard look a lot safer, and I don't recommend
that either. All right, Let's take the break. I'll be
back after the break. Take the break, that says the
(43:34):
Uncle Henry Show. News Radio seven to ten WNTM news
headlines coming up in ten minutes. Not gonna press release
today from PETA People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
are actually this group is calling themselves PETA two. And
I don't know if this is a an offshoot of PETA.
(43:55):
I don't know, and I'm not curious enough. No, I'm not. Look,
they've been around for a long time. I'm not interested
in finding out what PETA two is. But I'm telling
you about this. I got a press release, it says here.
According to this press release, the University of South Alabama
(44:15):
is going to get visited next week from PEDA two's
award winning virtual reality experience called Abduction Now. The press
release says the virtual reality experience Abduction is touring the
country to encourage empathy for animals that are caged in
(44:36):
laboratories on university campuses. Now the press release says, in
this eerie experience, visitors will enter a mysterious truck containing
a mobile virtual reality studio, and when you go in there,
you find yourself seemingly stranded with a couple of fellow
(44:58):
humans in the desert, only to be abducted by aliens
taking a board of spaceship and subjected to a shocking
experience that mirrors what other species endure in laboratories. They
will watch as their friends are subjected to painful tests,
knowing that they'll be next. So they have a virtual
(45:20):
reality truck that's going to make the if a student
chooses to go on. And of course the students are
going to want to go in there because this sounds weird, right,
So when you go on there, they try to make
you feel as if you're a lab animal being experimented on.
All right, well, this might be persuasive. This might be
(45:44):
a way of persuading the youth that are at the
University of South Alabama to be against animal experiments. Now.
It says further down in their press release that this
truck has traveled from coast to coast, been to more
than fifty colleges and universities, including Harvard and MIT and
(46:04):
all that kind of stuff, blah blah blah. All right, well,
that and they're going to be on campus. This says
it's going to be on campus starting Monday through Thursday,
from eleven to five each day. So maybe that's something
you want to go do, Go get on the virtual
reality truck. Well, this is a lot more effective than
(46:27):
somebody a lot of these other things where they're they're
just standing out on the side of the road waving
signs or standing in animal costumes. So apparently they're getting
good donations, donations enough to pay for a virtual reality truck.
All right, what else? What other news item can I
share with you while we've got some time left here?
(46:48):
On News Radio seven to ten WNTM, I did say
a story about the the Miriam Webster Dictionary. Now they
update them all all the time online, but they're going
to print. They're going to have an updated book, printed book,
and I think it's the first time in twenty years
(47:09):
they've updated it. So here's the story. Here's Fox News's
story on the updated dictionary.
Speaker 13 (47:16):
More than two decades after its last hard copy update,
Miriam Webster rolling out its twelfth edition Collegiate Dictionary. It's
got five thousand new words, ranging from slang like riz
meaning charm or appeal to coldbrew hard passing dad bod.
There's also a nod cho you know, that is.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
Sad that dad bod made it into the dad Gum Dictionary.
Speaker 13 (47:37):
Shifting consumer trends, for instance dumb phone or ghost kitchen.
That's a professional facility only for preparing and delivering food.
And it's got more obscure words like petrocor the fresh
scent in the air after rain during a warm dry period.
What's been taken out biographical and geographical entries which Miriam
Webster believes people no longer use dictionaries for word nerds
(48:00):
can pre order now for the tome, dropping November eighteenth.
Lilyan Woo Fox News.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
Hmm, Now, I wonder five thousand new words first time
in twenty something years. How many gender related new words
do you think are in there? She didn't mention anything
about that. I wonder how many gender related things are
in there? You know, kind of freaky thing. I guess
we'll all find out when that thing is released. All right,
(48:29):
let's see what else can I share with you? This
kind of belongs on the Unkle Henry Show. I know
you've probably already heard this story, but here's another story
from Fox. This is about an aggressive squirrel in California
that is attacking people.
Speaker 4 (48:47):
Warning flyers are posted on trees and utility polls telling
residents north of San Francisco to keep an eye out
for a very mean squirrel. The small rodent has become
notorious for attacking people in San Raphael. The aggressive, squirrelly
behavior of the rogue rodent is blamed for at least
five attacks, including two victims who had to seek medical care.
(49:10):
One woman says the squirrel launched itself at her face,
ultimately leaving her with a bloody arm. It's unclear what's
causing the behavior. Rabies is rare in squirrels. Tom Graham, Fox.
Speaker 1 (49:21):
News, Okay, so that's probably not Rabi's just could it
just be meanness. Maybe it's irritated with the people there
in that part of California. Maybe it's maybe the squirrel
has had it with these insane liberals out there in
the Bay Area. All right, well, out of time for
(49:43):
this week of Uncle Henry's Show. I appreciate you listening
to the show. You can always find the podcast on
the iHeartRadio app or at NewsRadio seven ten dot com,
and you can watch parts of the show on YouTube.
Thank you for listening, as they say in Schaerland, have
a good one, as they say in Theodore, take it easy.
Speaker 9 (50:03):
All right.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Later
